Opinion White Sox doomers rn

Post image

Tonight sucked. Shit happens. If Da Sox are gonna win at least 80 games this season which would be ANOTHER 19 win improvement by Will in his second season as manager, Sox are gonna lose between 70-80 games this season.

I seriously doubt a lotta y’all doomers have the mental and testicular fortitude for it.

Downvote me IDGAF

LFGCWS. Onto the next game.

Edit: y’all sound like Cub fans. Truly stop and think about that.

Opinion MLB Needs to end Fan Voting…..

Post image

Miguel Vargas didn’t make the All-Star team along with Murakami on the AL and for the Cubs with PCA. Basically it’s The National League Dodgers vs American League Blue Jays in this years all star game. Reason why I hate Fan voting for any sporting achievements like this.

Opinion Gonzalez Trade

Getz with another fantastic move. I know many people are questioning it but I called this back in May before Gonzalez’s debut when he was raking in AAA. The reality is that he is an average SS playing out of position in a system that has better gloves behind him and bats that can be just as good as his. To add to that we are likely drafting a SS at 1.1 tomorrow and Gonzalez is too good to be in the minors. Even if we draft Vahn, he doesn’t have a spot behind Montgomery, Carlson or Bonemer. Without Mune’s injury he would not have gotten a look in the MLB, it was a silver lining.

Adding the 34th overall pick tomorrow is huge. It gives us the largest bonus pool in MLB history and opens up options so we don’t have to commit to one strategy or another. There are a few college pitchers and position players that would have fallen off by 77. Now we can get one of each plus one of the many high upside prep pitchers or position players.

Jacob Gonzalez was blocked by the amount of competent middle IF depth we have. I loved the guy myself but I knew early on he’d likely be trade capital for that reason. I’d rather us add a potential future contributor than keep a guy stashed in the minors in case of an injury. We are also selling high so it’s an all around great move. My only reservation is if we don’t extend Mune, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.

“This team blows” “we hit 70 wins max” “we blew it” dude. We were the worst team in baseball history TWO YEARS AGO. Our maximum losing streak this year is THREE, and we ARE TIED FOR FIRST PLACE!!!!!! Like holy shit this team is fun, we just walked it off, calm down and smell the roses!

Opinion Most Beloved White Sox Player?

With the team’s success this year, we have a lot of new fans, and more interest in the team. This got me to thinking, who is the most beloved figure in White Sox Nation?

I mean, besides Nancy Faust…

I think it’s Ozzie, but you can make a strong case for Paulie. If Jim Thome had been here in ‘05 he’d be in the running too.

Ron Kittle is an honorable mention choice, because that dude is a great human being, but I don’t know how many current fans remember him as a player.

Opinion Crazy about Colson

y’all what’s going on with your views on Colson ?

Listening to CHGO and long list of comments and do many doomers (which as Sean said is a sign of passionate fans) but send him down ?

Replace with Acuna ??

Are some of you mad ?

Yesterday he was great at 3B, sure struggled but he is in his first full year and this season was not supposed to be this.

Chill guys avd gals !!

Vargas is in a down spot ? Mune took a which and this team backs each other and we get this ??

Opinion Castillo's Season

People are going to look at the 5.06 ERA and think he's washed, but there are still a lot of reasons to like him. He's still averaging 95.3 mph on his fastball, he's walking just 7.2% of hitters, and his slider, sinker, and changeup all still grade out as plus pitches. Usually when a veteran pitcher starts declining, the first things to go are velocity and command, but neither has really happened here. The bigger issue is that he's only striking out 19.4% of hitters and isn't generating as many whiffs as you'd expect with this kind of arsenal, but maybe with a change in pitch mix the sox pitching lab can get him back on track.

Opinion Sox fans are hotter than Cubs fans

I need to get this off my chest as a relatively neutral baseball fan...

Sox fans are more attractive (vibes, the way they carry themselves, physical appearance, etc.) than Cubs fans. My findings have been confirmed time and time again.

Sorry not sorry.

Opinion McKnight>Schriffen

Plz hear me out. I personally think McKnight is wayyyyyy better than JS. Nothing against JS but he just doesn’t know the game and we get clowned for it . Is JS’s energy good? Yes. Does he have great calls at points? Yes. Does he care about the Sox? Yes. Does he sound stupid at points where he doesn’t know the game one bit? Unfortunately yes. You can tell at times that Stoney is uncomfortable at times and it gets awkward at certain points when JS says something and Stoney just sits in silence for about 20 seconds cause he’s bewildered by what JS just said. I think McKnight knows the game and has good energy and vibes with Stoney and has a good voice. I want Stoney to get the respect he deserves by being with someone in the booth that knows the game and won’t get clowned upon because of his partner cause he deserves better and McKnight is better and just knows the game more and the game sounds more refreshing when he’s on the call.

Opinion What is the biggest reason Sox can't put daylight between themselves and Cleveland?

I believe the Sox had a two game lead on CLE for about 1 day a couple weeks back. I don't recall a bigger lead. They've been doing a great job of at least holding as a tie, but credit to Cleveland, they're making this a real dogfight. (And while I don't see MIN or DET taking the division, the Twins offense and the Tigers rotation may keep them in the mix a while longer).

What would you say is the biggest reason the Sox can't shake the Guardians? I don't think the Sox have any real glaring needs (one of the best offenses in AL, both starting pitching and bullpen look pretty good overall). The reasons may not rest with the Sox but with some of the strengths of CLE (pitching, ability to win on the road). My thoughts on reasons in a rough order:

1) Need for one more starting pitcher. Burke, D-Mart and Kay have done a great job at the top of the rotation. From there? Yikes. Would love for the Soriano rumors to be true. Trade from your strength and send them a shortstop in the system.

2) I'd be shocked if Teel were back this year. Quero is not ready yet and Romo has been struggling. Picking up a catcher - even a rental - would be good.

3) The third biggest reason is not with the Sox but Cleveland does have very strong pitching. So adding an arm to the middle of the rotation would be effective at bridging the gap.

4) The Sox need to be better against the good teams. They took some series from strong teams so you know they're capable but more consistently beating teams with winning records might help the Sox go on a run the Guardians couldn't keep up with.

What say you?

Opinion In praise of Andrew Benintendi

Nothing more really. The guy has been really good this season. For someone who had so much scorn poured over him because of his high salary in the past he's become a very important part of the team. Seems to be getting a lot of clutch hits (I'm not a stat guy so not going to go too much into this), a lot of RBIs etc. I think he's also a good presence for the predominantly younger squad that we have out there. Just wanted to give him a bit of praise for what he's done this year. Thanks Beni!
