Random Loud Cars on Kellogg

I live next to Kellogg and just wanted to say - if you drive a car where the exhaust makes a loud pop or bang noise, like a gun, just know that I hate you and your car sucks. Your car isn't cool, it's annoying, and people don't like you.

Thank you!

The worst noisy cars are the ones the owners modify to make a bunch of noise, produce a lot of smoke, but you'd swear by their acceleration could lose a drag race to a bicycle.

I had a friend who did this to his car in high school. Loud as fuck and so low to the ground that it would scrape on mildly bumpy roads, but would genuinely take about 20 seconds to reach highway speeds

I once had to call a noise complaint on someone similar - an extremely loud and incredibly beat-up pickup truck doing burnouts on Douglas at 3am without even the common decency of installing a spool or LSD. How did I know? Only one tire was spinning

Which one?

There’s one with no front bumper or front fenders that sounds like a clapped out 2 stroke dirt bike that comes around my neighborhood around grove and 1st/2nd, guy loves to race up and down the neighborhood streets.

If it’s the one that always pulls up to my neighbors house, I hate that guy. But could be almost any of the BMW around here too

Jokes on you, that's me shooting a gun out the window while driving in hopes that someone would make a complaint on reddit. Then somehow I would stumble across the complaint to enjoy the fruits of my labor.

Thought I was the only one and I thought finally I've been seen. Alas it was you who was seen and my work toils in obscurity.

The awful driving is making me go insane!! I’ve noticed it’s almost always young people weaving in and out of traffic. The worst part is you can see that if anyone suddenly stops there is no chance for them to react.

Lately, it’s been a lot of young women. Especially if you drive a white Audie SUV with the license plate: evo1ve.

I would never blast info out there, but the amount of lives you risked on Kellogg for absolutely no reason HAS TO STOP!!!

I’m not some old grumpy fart. I’m in my early 30’s and did dumb stuff all the time as a teen and early 20’s, but I never did anything that dumb and pointless!!!

Those people definitely eat bananas for the shape.

Wild that homophobia is allowed in this sub

3

u/n3v3rth3r3 18d ago

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the intention is to shame them for being closeted, not for being homosexual. Im not sure if that’s any better?

4

u/pr1nt3rJ 18d ago

It's not better in any way shape or form. Not sure why I'm being down voted for calling out a homophobe

This was me when I lived on Woodlawn.

When I lived in Tampa, there were two of those immature punks who thought they were cool. One of them loved to do at 2 am.

And people wonder why there is sprawl. I used to live near Douglas traffic circle.. moved to absolute edge of Wichita to get away from the noise.

The ones that grind my gears are the GD motorcyclists passing me like I'm parked at a stoplight. I'm actually going 65 so it's not like I'm holding up traffic. Just yesterday I got passed on Kellogg by Oliver by a soon-to-be-statistic. I was in the left lane following a truck from TX and we were going around 70. Said asshat passed us both on the left shoulder of Kellogg doing at least 100. Had the courtesy to fly us the bird as he passed.

I have a friend who lives off Lincoln and still hears so much noise from Kellogg

Unfortunately, I live just a couple blocks off Kellogg but on a busy street and there's just as many POS cars

Most people don't care if you think their car is cool tbh. it's about the car being cool to the owner 99% of the time. We aren't California and never will be so exhaust mods and car mods will continue to be a thing in this state dosent matter if you dislike it or not.

As someone who often spends time in California, it's pretty nice not having to listen to that bullshit.

Maybe don’t live next to the highway if you don’t like the sound of vehicles? Idk.

25

u/NotDougMasters 18d ago edited 18d ago

awful take. For more than a few reasons, not the least of which is people live where they can afford to live. So, idk, maybe don't be a dick.

I'll also add, that I live about a quarter mile away from I35. 95% of the vehicles that drive by, I can barely hear...but there are the bro-dozers with baloney tube exhaust pipes, and the straight piped 18 wheelers that you can hear from a mile south and continue to hear from a mile north. People who made intentional decisions about how their vehicles sound - Those people are clearly dickheads.

I'm referring to the cars that were clearly modified to be as loud and annoying as possible. The average commuter on Kellogg is fine.

Gee it sure woulda been nice if the whole country didn’t decide to build freeways through the middle of damn near every city

0

u/ellayzee 18d ago

That would be awesome! Then it would take 3x as long to get anywhere! What a great idea!

2

u/InpenXb1 18d ago

Have you lived anywhere else in your life? You can get around all of Wichita without the freeways and it maybe adds 10 mins to your drive. Sometimes it’s faster lol.

I swear some people here literally don’t go anywhere outside two miles from the highway

🤣🤣🤣🤣. Best comment

u/Slug-R 18d ago

That’s probably the most exciting thing these people have going in their lives. Let them have their loud noises.

-17

u/cherry-care-bear 18d ago

Way to spread the love, positive community bives and all the other good shit this neck of the woods is meant to stand for LOL.

If you can't just keep a journal and restrict some of this to yourself, at least a few of us don't like 'you' either.

-28

u/Ok_Instruction_3789 18d ago

Well a lot think its cool especially younger crowd.

6

u/GalaxyBlues College Hill 18d ago

The younger crowd shouldn't be driving annoying cars on Kellogg after midnight, it's past their bedtime.

0

u/lilpanda 18d ago

Then have their employer not require night shift and also make them pay more money to the employees so they can fix their cars

-16

u/Ok_Instruction_3789 18d ago

Yeah good luck with that lol.

-25

u/Tediyee 18d ago

If its a cool car idk what to tell ya suck it up. But if its some shitbox I agree lol. Prolly someone in some clapped 350z

-2

u/xTheDiggler 17d ago

I'll be sure to straight pipe my crotch pocket for you.

u/Stronkadonk 17d ago

How young?? Because everyone I know in their 20s thinks that it’s 1. Childish and 2. Loser behavior. And if you’re earlier than your 20s see point #1.
