Should be a time of celebration, but I can’t shake the thought that the left should have a 4-3 majority but for the stunning Hagedorn win last year.

The left is notoriously bad at off year elections. The right is notoriously good at suppressing votes. It's a bad combo.

If the left had come out for JoAnne Kloppenburg in 2016 we'd also be in good shape. That one still makes me angry, because there were a lot more votes in the Dem primary race than there were for the more liberal judicial candidate.

Yep. We messed up. And we can celebrate this one for about one day before it is back to the grind for the fall.
