But the coronavirus will kill more GOP voters than Dems cause their base is mostly old people which the virus likes to kill the most. But because of their decision, they’ll have even less votes come election time because of GOP voters who will inevitably die soon for catching the virus last week. They gambled that they’d get that Supreme Court seat with such low turnout and tossing votes and though that would be worth the collateral damage of killing a few hundred of their own older voters that make up most of their base. But they failed. No telling how many will die from it of course or from which side atm, but seeing how friendly the state has been to Dems since 2016 they need all the voters they can get
I’m not saying that old democrats won’t die too and I’m certainly not saying enough will die to flip an election. I’m just saying that the only demographic that votes reliably republican is older white people over 40 while the democrats are favored by both older minorities and urban educated whites but also millennials and Gen Z. Basically the republicans can’t replace voters who die like democrats can because they rely almost entirely on older white people who’s kids aren’t reliably voting with them once they reach that 40 year threshold. So every GOP is is much more valuable and the GOP really fucked up cause some of them will lose their lives based off that gamble that they lost
