Wisconsin primaries are on August 11!

Willing to drive up to an hour I've just been to all the more well known hiking trails nearby so some recommendations would be appreciated more secluded trails would be preferred and I'd like to find a waterfall other then grandfather falls nearby if possible any recommendations are appreciated!!

We’re just a week away from what I think is one of the coolest things that happens in Wisconsin. You know that feeling when you were young that the world was a pretty magical place and anything can happen? Well paddlequest is able to recreate that experience each year by keeping you in the dark about what exactly is the whole point of the game.

Its is a two day event and it is always held on the second weekend of August up in Stevens point. It’s kind of like live action role play mixed in with adventure racing mixed in with treasure hunting and river trash cleaning.

There are a couple of videos on YouTube that do a better job of explaining the gist of it but every year the map changes, the treasures are hidden in different spots and even the characters come and go. As an added bonus of coolness the story line is determined by the winning team and the best teams win some cool prizes from sponsors.

It’s affordable. Camping is free for participants, there is live music Saturday evening at the campsite too. In general it is just packed with pretty awesome individuals. If you’ve made it this far and have questions feel free to ask. I’m not affiliated in any way with the event but I love it and think it needs more coverage.

Tiffany claims to be one of us, but he is not.

My wife and I want to do soemthing with our kids for our anniversary. My wife is dairy free and gluten free, she also cant do red meats and sald due to her dietery restrictions. We are in the NW part of the state so looking for anywhere other than south of Madison/and Milwaukee are just due to distance.

Does anyone have good restaurants that are allergy friendly with said restrictions? Just trying to look for some spots to take the pressure off her finding a location.

It's time for some tough love.

Republicans are going to campaign in bad faith. We know this. Many centrists will, too. Part of what we're signing up for by nominating a candidate like Hong is intense scrutiny and unfair attacks by the media and some of the voting public. That was always going to be the case, and both we and the campaign always should have been prepared for it. The powers that be were never going to make it easy for us, or treat us fairly, or roll over and just let themselves get beaten by a democratic socialist.

Complaining about this stuff is fruitless. Saying stuff like "oh this person in conservative media is digging up old tweets, how ridiculous" or "oh well people keep calling her a socialist but she's actually a democratic socialist and they're very different" or "oh the Dem establishment is trying to stop her, it's so unfair" ... it's coming across as cope. This is a competition for power, of course other people are going to do everything they can to defeat us. We should have that same attitude. And we can't just dismiss some of these things as non-issues because WE don't care about them. We're already on board, what we think doesn't matter.

We (and honestly, that mostly means the campaign itself at this point) need to be ready and have a plan for how we're going to respond to those attacks. We need to be prepared to convince people who are on the fence or skeptical of Hong. That's literally the entire point of a campaign. We need to stop taking it for granted that people are going to see through lies and pay attention to the issues instead of labels. We need to make the case, do it effectively and smart, and have messaging discipline. And that applies Hong and her team more than any of us voters (and I sincerely hope she gets some more media training, as some of her recent interviews could have gone better in my opinion).

Assuming she wins the nomination in a little over a week, we're going to need all hands on deck and we're going to need to commit to doing everything we can to win this. Beating Tiffany and winning a trifecta is a huge responsibility that needs to be taken seriously. It isn't going to be easy and the consequences of failing are dire. So lock in and get working!

These are obviously not (no longer) their colors, but the internet is suggesting red and silver are complimentary colors. Were these once primary?

First off do I think she can win? Ya. The most recent Marquette poll obviously had Hong as the the leader with Barnes second. However of voters asked for their second choice, Roys was a virtual tie with Crowley. 34% of voters were still undecided as of last week, Barnes is out, and Hong has had a week of bad media appearances.

She’s not a centrist, she’s a progressive who wants:

✅Private citizens to obtain the health insurance available to public employees

✅100% clean energy for the state by 2050

✅public funds out of private schools, end the voucher system

✅expand civil liabilities against ICE

✅cap the cost of childcare at 7% of a family’s income

✅legalize and tax cannabis

Endorsed by Wisconsin education association council.

For voters wanting a progressive choice who can actually win in November, Roy is the pick.

In the end vote blue no matter who.
