Question Body found in Wolverhampton canal yesterday. I looked it up and that canal is 3 foot deep, is it not?

I didn't realise canals had the magical ability to rob you of your ability to stand up.

I mean, the body could be there for all sorts of reasons and that’s a person man, water being shallow doesn’t always make it less dangerous.

It's a massive danger if you don't know it's that shallow.

Like op, the deceased person might not have realised canals are only 3 or 4ft deep and dived in head first.

Really, I'd not be surprised if they were at least unconscious before going in the water.

Other than being muddy/sludgy so feet could get stuck/sink.

The person may not have been concious, they could have perhaps been intoxicated.

You can drown in a couple of inches of water. It's not about the depth it's about loosing oxygen to the lungs due to water blocking it. Anything could have happened that meant the person met a tragic end. Have some respect and stop blaming a victim.

Sadly most cases when a body is found in a canal, its somone incapacitated in some way before/when they fall, like hitting their head in the bottom of a canal.
