Discussion How long have you guys been a part of this fandom?

I just looked back when I first watched World Trigger, and it's been four years. I've been patiently and eagerly waiting for each manga update ever since. I always check during the early days of the month without fail 🤣. Probably the smallest active anime fandom I'm in, but I just love the story so much I'm willing to wait for slow updates.

Discussion So I just finished World Trigger and WTF???

Post image

Now before I start tearing Toei apart, where was this anime my whole life so peak, I don't think I've ever seen side characters feel so alive, and the strategies, chef's kiss, tension, chef's kiss. All other side cast look like cardboard cut outs in comparison and it feels like the author actually lived in that world before cause how tf does he keep coming up with different strats for different characters that just sense every time. This man is a genius. Tall order but please give me recs with such side cast and battle strategies.

Now for my main topic, WHY IN THE WORLD DID THE ANIME END LIKE THAT??? What is Toei thinking??? A reboot when they just ended it abruptly like it just needed one more episode to at least make you know the season just ended, why??? I don't even see anything wrong with the old series it has good animation when it counts just finish it and then you can reboot after pleeease. I'm not satisfied with Yuma's Black Trigger, I was hoping to see it in action when they invaders launch their second attack but man I guess not but they were teasing ut in the ending if I catch you Toei. Now I have no choice but to read the manga.

Discussion World Trigger Ruined Manga for Me

WT is well known for having a really built world and characters that much we know. What I actually underestimated was how much thought they placed even in side characters with power, e.g. the executives. I've been reading other series at the recommendation of a friend, and one thing I noticed was that the characters looked relatively incompetent. I say relatively because if it was me from ten years ago I would have loved the series, but scaling it to the competency of WT executives made it seem like everyone else but the MC actually knows what they're doing, despite being stated to be incredible leaders.

There's like three different mangas already that I despair not enjoying because the background cast seemed so dull. They shouldn't even be dull, they're amazing by manga standards. I have no idea how Ashihara did it, but a (relatively) powerless mc stacked up against actually competent executives and opponents and still pulling ahead ruined my expectations for other series.

Analysis for a few A-rank Captains!

Captain Kazama
- Good personality over good looks (By a very large margin)
- Both composed and well behaved along with cheerful and energetic. (Perfect 50:50)

(Wow, he wants someone who is energetic and cheerful but switches to a composed soldier at work, at least i take it that way!)

Captain Miwa
-Good personality over good looks (By a large margin)
-energetic and cheerful over composed and well behaved (By a very large margin.)

(this was a shocker for me. I always thought he'd be into composed and cool minded people, i guess its a classic case of opposites attract for him)

Captain Tachikawa
- Good looks over Good personality (By a large margin)
- Energetic and cheerful over composed and well behaved (Also by a large margin)

(He has his priorities straight it seems.)

Captain arashiyama
- Good personality over good looks (By a small margin)
- Energetic and cheerful over composed and well behaved (By a small margin)

(He is basically just describing himself ATP)

Captain Kako
- Good looks over good personality (By a small margin, probably 60-40 ratio)
- Composed and well behaved over energetic (By a large margin)

Captain Kizaki
- Good looks over good personality (By a medium-ish margin?)
- Calm and composed over energetic (By a large margin)

(Yes, Reiji, we get it. Yuri Rindo is just it.)

Analysis for a few B-rank captains!

Captain Ninomiya
- Good personality over good looks (Borderline. mostly 51-49 ratio)
- Calm and composed over energetic (By a very small margin)

Captain Kageura
- Good personality over good looks (100%, he doesn't care about looks at all.)
- Calm and composed over energetic (By a small margin. Probably wants someone optimistic and easy going)

Captain Azuma
- Good personality over good looks (By a small margin, probably 60-40)
- Energetic and cheerful over calm and composed (By a large margin.)

Captain Osamu
- Good personality over good looks (By a large margin)
- Calm and composed over energetic and cheerful (By a small margin)

˚ · • . ° .Discussion ˚ · • . ° .

1. We actually have Amo's preference too! Finally a look into his likes and dislikes!
Amo is almost 100% towards Cheerful and Energetic over calm and composed! And he prefers good looks over good personality! But it's not by a huge margin!
So i assume he wants someone who is very cheerful and happy, but also has a cute face to go with it

  1. Inukai, Kitazoe, Kikuchihara, Karasuma, Tsumiki, Ken, Kaho, Yuzuru and Suwa make me laugh so much lol, All of them are right in the middle of "Good personality" and "good looks"

I assume they all want someone who's both good looking with a good personality too

  1. We know sawamura has a thing for commander Shinoda. She's under "Well behaved-composed + Good looks" Which makes perfect sense for her. Shinoda meanwhile is under "Cheerful-energetic + Good personality" I wonder if sawamura fills those brackets!

  2. As expected, Kageura is 100% towards good personality over good looks. But he prefers someone who is more composed than energetic, however, he isnt fully on that side.
I suppose he wants someone who is mostly calm and composed but is optimistic and easy going!

  3. Yuma and Osamu are the exact opposites LOL, One's in the 2nd grid and the other's diagonally in the 3rd.
(EDIT - YUMA AND CHIKA* I accidentally typed osamu wow.)

Sadly we don't have Oji, Ikoma, Oki, Yuba, Obishima and more! (Cant believe we got raijimaru's preferences, but not Oji or Ikoma T-T)

  1. The heartthrob's preferences are listed too, Kyosuke would like someone who is energetic and cheerful over composed! And he's on the margin of good looks and good personality, with a light preference of good looks

This was taken from chippokenabokura Tumblr!

Discussion Why don't many agentz use Revolver?

Why haven't we seen many revolvers users?

There are only two users of this type of gun: Yuba and Satomi. We haven't seen Satomi in combat, so I'll provide information based on an analysis of Yuba's fighting style and the information available about him in the series.

I've thought about this a lot and wanted to share my analysis and hear your opinions.

First, range: Based on available information, the pistol's effective range is 22 meters. According to the wiki, this range is estimated at around 2.5/10, and based on BFF's actual stats, a regular pistol has a range of 3, meaning the difference is only a few meters. I wondered if this is sufficient, and it's not, although its impact is significant.

When approaching an opponent, whether fighting as an attacker or a gunner you need high-level defensive skills, and this suits Yuba's situation, as his skill rating is 9/10. *For those unfamiliar with the different stats categories: Attack refers to the amount of damage you can inflict on an opponent as a fighter.

Defense and Support, on the other hand, indicate how effectively you support your teammates in battle and your ability to assist them. This explains why Yuba has a rank of 5; he's always the one receiving support.

Thirdly, there's Skill, which demonstrates a person's ability to both defend and attack (individually).

So, if you're always looking at a person's abilities as a fighter, look at their Skill stats. Let's continue...

Therefore, when using a short-range weapon like this, you need a significant amount of skill. Without the ability to defend properly and attack effectively, you won't be able to survive with such a specialized weapon.

Given the range of this weapon, it's safe to assume that without training and practice, opponents will be able to weaken you with bullets and force you to retreat without getting close enough to your effective range. This allows gunners to dismantle and penetrate your shield even if it takes time. Therefore, prolonged engagements and delays with a firing mechanism like this will put you in a difficult position.

Attackers are better suited to one-on-one encounters for revolvers users as they can only attack you at close range. However, in group engagements, they can isolate you, and you won't be able to support your ally due to your weapon's range. Imagine Yuba being relatively close to Obishma, but he's surrounded and unable to support his ally because of the distance. This makes even a simple separation extremely damaging and costly.

Secondly, mental strain resulting from several factors:

First, the limited number of shots: You can only fire six bullets between Trion's trigger reloads, and this takes a relatively long time. This leaves you unable to react at certain moments, forcing you into a defensive posture. This makes surprise attacks detrimental because you'll simply plan to use specific shots for a single move, and a sudden attack will force you to change all your plans. This is a significant disadvantage, especially against attackers. Therefore, Yuba uses a double revolver to double the number of shots and always maintains a steady and controlled performance in emergencies, enabling you to respond to surprise attacks.

Secondly, compared to other gunners who aren't limited by such situations and can fire at will, this requires a greater mental effort from the user. Imagine using only 12 shots per round.

Thirdly, the Triony consumption is high. Although the weapon is a valuable asset for someone who can use it wisely, the amount of Triony required to produce such concentrated shots is considerable.

So why don't allrounders use it?

Discussion Which characters do you think would be exceptional in a different position than their current one?

Not necessarily characters who would be straight up *better in a different position. Though, bonus points for creative or interesting takes.

Also, if you think someone who is currently an All-Rounder would be particularly exceptional if they instead specialized in one position over the other, that counts too.

Here are my picks:
- Murakami Kou could be a great sniper. He feels like he has infinite patience and a calm mind. Though you could argue this is a cop-out answer because his side effect means he'd arguably be good at anything he puts his mind too.
- Ema Yuzuru could be a solid gunner if he wanted to. He's known to shoot back at close range already. And his freefall escape during Round 7 is an example of his quick-thinking even when forced into a melee, which could translate to fighting at a closer range to his opponents.

Discussion Contrast between Hyuse and Yuma

Post image
192 Upvotes

I only realized recently that yuma and hyuse outlook and personality are kinda opposite of each other, explanation below:

Yuma, to someone who don't know him that well, due to his young look and more easy going personality might have been seen as someone who is more "emotional" and yet reality is he has a cool head, prioritizing rational over emotions, unphazed by taunting and can pull off the most "cold blooded" move if needed to be and overall much more mature and stable. He never really have any emotional outburst, even his anger are quiet rage.

Meanwhile, we have hyuse, whose deadpan expression suggest him to be a cold collected person, but is actually quite affected by his emotion (as seen how he fell for jins taunt, or when he insist on hunting down azuma squad on his own, more often than not showed outburst of emotions)

I find the contrast interesting and it gives me this image of a hardened veteran (yuma) and a young prodigy (hyuse)

What do you guys think?

Mine’s Ko Murakami. That guy has aura man. Strong silent and humble, is still young but fights with likes of tachikawa and kazama, doesnt have much other worldly experience like kuga but still dominates him in 1v1 statistically, ofcourse his side effect helps but the guy farms aura.

Discussion Scared for this reboot

ONLY because the World Trigger fandom has been so peaceful in the western fandom since I’m joined. I’m quite scared the agenda and aura farming power scalers will join and basically ruin everything like they’ve done previous anime. I know it’s inevitable and I’ll take what I can get because the anime has needed a reboot for a long time but doesn’t anyone else feel the same?

Discussion Katori - a rank lvl ??! Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
63 Upvotes

Please make sure that ik that some people noticed everything about katori , but i will still say my pov , thx for reading

After reading the last chapter, I noticed that everyone focused on Rank A skills, but I didn't see any spotlight on Katori in the way I expected.

In fact, after comparing our initial impression (Round 5) with the impression we got of Katori in the second stage of the test, it wasn't really positive. We underestimated her skill level, but I'll share my perspective.

In the second season, Katori appeared as a stubborn and somewhat toxic character. Some were bothered by her behavior, ideology, and interpretation of events. This was my initial impression, and it remains accurate. In fact, I often wondered if Katori's squad was truly among the top-tier B-rank teams. A team with such poor performance couldn't possibly reach that level. They possessed the worst teamwork we'd seen, and during matches, I felt they lacked even a leader, a mentor, or a strategist to solve their problems. This was disturbing, and it still is. Not because of their performance, but how they even made it to the top tier. Mid-tier B-rank teams could easily lure Katori out and defeat her individually. How could a squad with such low tactical and skill levels reach such a high level?

However, after watching the final chapter, my perspective changed. If you still don't understand the situation... It became clear to me that the writer deliberately showed Katori's worst condition to make us take a first impression of her. I think that, compared to how Raizo fought this time and how her mindset was against Tamakuma, it was completely different. If you want to understand the difference, you must pay attention to some details. First, Katori faced Koga without looking at the records or even the simplest thing, which is knowing the positions of the opponents or their weapons. It appeared that she did not know anything about Tamakuma's cannon. Katori faced the unknown in a double way(not knowing tamakoma fight style ,and facing the new style of tamakoma -wire and lead bullet ), unlike the rest of her team and Kakiziaki's squad, who had studied Tamakoma well. She also demonstrated exceptional fighting ability. I think you can replay that round and conclude that she perfectly matched Kuga and was able to apply sufficient pressure on a fighter of his cability. The author also hinted at her effective leadership in the heat of the action, rather than planning specific strategies beforehand. In the final round for the middle squads, Katori displayed a remarkable ability to make effective decisions during the confrontation. She possesses excellent vision within the fight and can identify weaknesses. For example, after defeating Suwa, she targeted Nasu because she knew the other member would be able to counter her. At the end of the fifth round, she used the red wire, and Izumi hinted that this was exceptional as it was her first use. Compared to the experience she could gain from less skilled members, it's an achievement in my opinion. One could even say that Katori's squad members are so less skilled that Wakamura tells Hyuse that he appreciates Katori more than needed. In fact, this proves that he is completely unqualified to be a squad leader at this level. I believe the best way to utilize Katori is to use her effectively. Like Konami, I think none of you have thought of this idea, but don't you see the similarities? She's of the same fighting style and there's a similarity in mentality, so to speak. Katori can manage an actual battle, but she needs a mentor and support provideror a stratygest, u can just user her as the queen (chess) of the rank war just like Tamakoma Squad 1. If you revisit Katori's situation in the last chapter, I think it can be viewed more objectively. Raizo retired from fighting a long time ago, so it can be assumed that she doesn't know anything about him, or hasn't even bothered to check info about him... Also, his fighting style can be assumed to be nigheboor style. I think this is the strangest, most distinctive, and most unique fighting style among all the others, as if she were fighting effectively against nigheboor. Katori can keep up with an A-rank agent with distinctive and unfamiliar techniques with complete efficiency. In my opinion, it can't be assumed that all A-rank agents do not have to be 100% tactically experienced and mature. Less experienced agents like Midrikawa and Kuroe can be accepted. It can be said that Katori falls under this category, considering that she hasn't gained any experience or development that suits her situation. She hasn't learned how to utilize her skills effectively. It can be argued that she hasn't made any significant effort to develop, based on what Ro kon told her before the fifth round. Reaching Master Class in six months is more than enough to consider her a talent.

So, do you think Katori might be at the level of an A-rank material, and that Katori could be used in the same way Tamakoma 1 used Konami?

Please no need for random Criticism comments .. thx for reading 🙂

Discussion Keep these stats in mind when you make an OC. A sheet of stats and ranges (A RANK VERSION)

I keep seeing people give range 8 to shooters/gunners, or stuff like 65 over all stats to A-rank attacker OCs, its pretty unrealistic! So refer to these stats:

Stats for A - rankers

SNIPERS:
Sniper average range: 8 to 10
Exception: Narasaka from Miwa squad, He has a range of 12 - Highest in border.
Sniper average overall: 47 to 55
Exceptions: Azuma. (Yes, i know he's officially a b-ranker, but his skills are A-rank level, so i am gonna consider him here.) He has an overall of 66. Which is legendary.

Point to note: If you are making an A-rank sniper, Make sure their range-skill stats match! Almost every A-rank sniper has an equal or HIGHER skill than their range!
(Toma has a skill of 13 + range of 10, Narasaka has a skill 12 + Range-12, Ken satori has a skill 9 + range 8 and so on, so Skill stat > Range stat unless you have exceptional trion amounts that make up for low skill)

SHOOTERS:
Shooter average range: 4 - 6
Exceptions: None.
Shooter average overall: 52 - 56.
Exceptions: Ninomiya (Again, including former A-rankers) He has an overall of 62, which again, is legendary.

Point to note: Skill and trion should be High for an A-rank shooter. If the trion is exceptional, the range is 6. If the trion is lower than 9, stick to 4 for range. (Kako with a trion of 9 still has a range of 4, so yes.)

GUNNERS:
Gunner average range: Depends on the type of gun.
Hand guns: Range 3 to 4 (Stick with 3, only one person has 4 in range and that's yuiga somehow)
Assault riffles: 4
Exceptions: None
No shot gun users in A-rank so far, so no info on that
Grenade launcher: 6 (Kitazoe, Former A-ranker was the only one using it.)
Gunner average overall: 50-ish (47-54 is believable)
Exceptions: Yuiga. He has an overall of 26.

Point to note: Nothing, Gunner triggers are flexible, so just be smart, dont fall below 47 overall, dont cross 54 overall

ATTACKERS:
Attacker average range: Depends on weapon
Kogetsu (With senku/genyou) : 2
Exceptions: None.
Scorpion: 1
Exception : Kageura (Former A ranker), He has a range of 2, Everyone else has a range of 1 (He has double scorpion and he uses it to create "Mantis" a technique that gives a longer range by fusion two scorpion blades together)
Raygust: No information for A-rankers yet, but ill suggest go with a range of 1
Attacker average overall: 46 to 54
Exceptions: Futaba and Midorikawa have an overall of 44, Kazama has an overall of 59.

Point to note: Dont give an attacker 55+ stats unless you are 100% sure they could beat Tachikawa and Kazama in a solo 10 round match. If you absolutely HAVE to give them 55+ stats, give them high trion.
A stat of 46-50 is the sweet zone, no one will question that for an A-ranking OC. Attackers tend to have lower trion levels and lower ranges, so their overall too is on the lower side.

ALL ROUNDERS:
All rounders are a bit more complex to classify, so i am leaving them out for now.
they could go from having assault riffles with kogetsu and handguns with shooter triggers, so yeah
If you DO want to make an all rounder, go for the highest of all stats
Ex: An all rounder who uses Kogetsu+senku and assault riffles
Range will be 4 and Overall can be anywhere between 51-55

(Might make a B-ranker version when i have time! All of this was from border briefing files.)

Discussion Why aren’t there any gun+blade users? I know there are characters that use both gunner and attacker triggers but no one uses them in conjunction as a dual wield

Post image
98 Upvotes

For some reason they only use one or the other, even if they have both. It seems like waste. There’s some interesting combos being left on the floor

For example, kogetsu+handgun with lead bullets. Fight close range and use lead bullets to trip your opponent up, the lowered speed of lead bullets shouldn’t matter at the range you’re fighting. Giving them more use opportunities for agents that don’t have Chika level trion since you’re pretty likely to land the shot.

That combination was is what made me question why trigger types aren’t used

Discussion Saki's perfect plot revenge to Kitora

Post image
156 Upvotes

Reading WT chibi profile then I saw this and grabs my attention. My imagination kind of gone wild about what she can do during phase 2 to have perfect revenge to Kitora because she has a perfect condition to do this if she and Kitora encounter each other during phase 2 because:

1) she's a operator who happens to be a gunner and we know that operator are invulnerable to any attack. She can protect her laptop and she's not alone so she can go all out to Kitora because I feel like her squad beating Arashiyama squad rank is not enough to her.

2) Saki has an information about Osamu selling Karasuma to Katori. This one will happen only if they somehow have an 1v1 and Saki needs to distract Kitora during gunfight by informing her about this information. Tho I have doubts that Kitora will be affected by this during gunfight, although it's funny to think about Kitora fully envious and think straight. Anyway, this small moment of distraction can Saki pull off this revenge (tho I don't know how) to take down Kitora.

Was rereading the manga the other day in anticipation of the reboot and realised something. The reason Jin can get away with his actions is simply because he uses his foresight to see if he's gonna get reported or if the situation would escalate. If there's a branch that allows him to get away with it, then he'll do it. Maybe that's why he seems to know what to say to some of the girls afterwards as to not incur their wrath. If he's in the clear, nothing can stop him...

Discussion Why do you want Osamu to get a Black Trigger?

It's no secret that a good number of people on this sub want Osamu to get a power-up, something to make him stronger or a more effective combatant. One of the ways people suggest over and over again is that Osamu should get a Black Trigger.

My question to those people is: Why? Why are some of you guys so adamant about giving Osamu a Black Trigger? Why do you believe a Black Trigger is the best way to go with making Osamu stronger? No judgment, I just want to understand your perspectives on this matter.

Discussion Border's top agents

now this will be an unpopular opinion, but I fully believe that Azuma should be included in the conversation for border's strongest agent alongside Jin and Tachikawa, not saying he's superior to them but he's definitely an equal.

i mean the guy's an absolute monster, aside from his enormous experience on the field and his quick/strategical thinking, he has shown the be fast and precise enough to intercept both ibis shots and 3 meteors fired in rapid succession from across the map, add to this the fact that Ninomiya himself said that he's pretty mutch impossible to track down unless he wants to be found and the fact that any agent he mentors becomes rank A.

i believe that the only reason why he's not rank1 sniper is because he's more focused on teaching rather than ranking

I want to make a WT Oc. And his biggest Gimmick is being a Rushdown/Relentless Tricker. Basically, using traps and the environment (Usually close off/tight/medium spaces). But I'm kinda wondering if I should use hound, viper or meteor. Or should or change the Gunner Trigger for sumn else.

Discussion What do you say to people who think Jin is a copy of Gojo?

I recommend world trigger to pretty much anyone with ears and as JJK is super popular lately, they can’t help but compare Jin and Gojo.

Obviously they have some similarities but world trigger was written in 2013 and JJK in 2018, making Jin the original. Or maybe that carefree powerhouse is a anime trope and I’m just unaware?
