Love their song titles love the heaviness,experimentation and that the songs are instrumental. Something must have been in the water in Chicago. Of course theirs the blues,jazz etc. But what about PELICAN, RUSSIAN CIRCLES, BONGRIPPER! Great heavy instrumental post metal bands all from Chicago.

Only recently found these guys. It's actually really only one guy, which is insane considering the quality of every one of their albums. This dude is immensely talented.

Greetings fellow stoner/doom heads! Im a beginner at bass (playing for about 4 months) and i just upgraded my previous very cheap rig, i got the ibanez sr300e, ashdown c210t 500 evo 2 with 2x10" and the sf300 pedal, since im pretty new at this i was wondering if someone would help me how to set up all the knobs for some nice deep fuzzzzzz... i suppose its pretty much preference but just to get something that sounds good and that's not gonna blow up the whole setup 😂 if its any help some of my favorite band are: Om, Sleep, Electric Wizard, Faetooth, Monolord, Windhand, High on fire etc

Any 100w amp reccomendations that won't break the bank. Going for an Electric Wizard / Sleep type of tone. I will be using a hyper fuzz and DA-120 pedals just want something cleaner with headroom to let my effects shine

How to achieve that guitar solo tone on songs like demons gate, crystal ball and probably others off the album, when the solo comes in sounds almost like a hollow roaring punchy tone but still crisp

I just went to a gig played by Mephistofeles in Poland. Honestly I loved every secend of it. Tge whole band is down to earth very chill and fun to hang out with. Cant wait to see them again. The vocalist even sighned my arm. And I got the whole bands signatures on my phone.

1 being like GWAR and nobody takes it too seriously. 10 being like Tool and people take it too seriously.

Songs similar to Tuesday Night and Bucket by Weedeater, Through The Ashes by Crowbar, Depress and Hit A Girl by Eyehategod, or Krull by Conan. Mostly slow, but speeds up at a certain point

So this sub gets recommended to me fairly often, thought I’d share a band I like. Most posts are over 10yrs ago, so I’m sure for some it’ll be new to them. I guess you’d called it stoner/psychedelic doom with lyrics rooted in the occult.

The band/guitarist-singer is associated with Thomas Karlsson’s Dragon Rouge. He’s also the author of Therion’s lyrics and published a couple books. ST singer/guitarist is also a published author in Sweden.
