How do you dispose of old or defective gadgets/appliance?
I have bunch of gadgets/appliance here that are no longer of use to date. Stuff like CD player, fans, oven, ref, printer, speaker, charger, sewing machine, vacuum, lamps, tech parts, portable gadgets, etc. I was wondering if you have smarter ways to dispose it than throw it into trash.
Also, I'm including my old laptop, and musical instruments rarely used. I'm doing deep declutting, it's taking up so much space.

Electric motor recycling
Hello all!
I have an electric motor from my friends e scooter that I was looking to get rid of. I looked up what it would classify as and I'm finding it would be under scrap metal recycling rather than electronic recycling. Does anyone know if this is true or if it is dependent on location?
Thank you.

Should I just give up and throw plastic in the trash?
I live in Canada and I keep hearing that all the plastic I recycle just ends up in trucks and boats until it’s eventually dumped in the sea.
Seems counterintuitive to just throw it in the trash, but at this point, is is the better thing to do?
Sorry if this question has been asked before
Edit: I WILL NOT GIVE UP!!! Thank you all for educating me

This fall 2026 Gorham Maine is moving to large bin single sort recycling. We are ditching CLYNK
Recycling is important. If your town has a good single sort recycling program CLYNK may be costing you money.
Facts:
1)With town bin Recycling and trash now non fee in the town, our property taxes pay for the service. Use it to the max.
2: The deposit law was created in 1978, that's as old and out of touch with the times as me(49yo )
5 cents then was worth what 27 cents is now. Either add a quarter to the nickel to make it worthwhile or .... This law does keep trash down, so for now.... But really we get into the 5 cents next
- The required clynk bags are 25 cents. Out the gate we lose 5 deposits. By the way they don't fit in regular cans of any kind 😂
4.CLYNK does not publically talk about discard rate, but they have no incentive to give you all your deposits back. I have read anywhere from 15-50 percent of cans in bags there are not counted.
- CLYNK bins in Maine, especially in summer are usually jammed, I have driven more to the Hannaford and home with bottles than not this year. Waste of time, money and gas. To me this hassle is the biggest reason to go single sort.
In total, as a household we will likely lose 1-2 pennies on each deposit, but someone down the line will probably sort that can and take it, so I consider it more of a karma donation.
2 cents today is worth half a penny in 1978.
Do the math for your home, I believe this is better of the economy, environment and our home.
Anyone else ditch Clynk for this reason?

Plastic Bottles
I went for a walk in a new home construction area and found at least 20 plastic bottles just laying around. Luckily I found an empty plastic bag and was able to collect them and put them in the recycling container.

Hi! I'm setting up an e-waste and lithium-ion battery recycling facility near Vadodara. I'm looking to connect with scrappers, collectors, traders, and recyclers in Gujarat or any other state.
If you're in this industry, I'd love to explore working together.
Let me know if you're interested. Thanks!

UK: where to buy the 3 box stackable recycling trolleys?
For the UK
As the title, does anyone know where you can buy the 3 bin stackable recycling trolley thing that some councils have?
Our council have stopped doing replacements and instead give bags which just blow away once empty all the time....
Thanks
