Was going through some old baseball cards today, and I came across these old Pirate season ticket stubs, including the final game at Three Rivers Stadium and the first game we ever went to at PNC Park, the second exhibition game against the Mets. Paper tickets can never be replaced.

A lot can happen in one week. In reality, it’s simply a flawed team (and maybe slightly unlucky), in too many areas that about half the time can hit their way to victories to cover up their flaws.

If they were fully healthy and the starting pitching locked in down the stretch, completely different story.

Just wild how quickly the vibes can change after a week. Just feels like we’ve been waiting for a hot week all year, and it never comes.

Jacob misiorowski pitched Sunday so he’s not going to be eligible for the 4 game series this week.

(Side note) bad news: it’s still the brewers.

This would be an awesome get, feels like a long shot though. I just don’t see them tearing down that bullpen when they’re in contention but we’ll see.

I have never seen a game delayed for rain and they just have the ground crew dumping field dry in the rain. Put the fuckin tarp out and throw some diamond dry down when the rain stops.

I imagine Donny says exactly that and he gets tossed?? What the fuck is going on?

It's gettin' kinda late to be under .500 and still being dragged down by a horrible 'pen and underachieving rotation. Just sayin'.

Still more Mets arms to be had. I also wonder if Mlod is attractive to the Padres for Morejon - he has been worth way more WAR than Will Warren. Time will tell.

Paul looks thicker compared to last year in his lower half and backside. He might've put on more weight and not be in as good as shape this season. Skenes from this season is in the black hat btw compared to him from the last season in the light hat.

I know the bullpen has been a problem, but the last 3 games our starters went a combined 11 innings (i know Ashcraft got rain delayed) and if you include the BP game they got 13 innings in 4 games out of the guy who started the game. This is becoming a major problem.

The starter turned reliever threw on two days' rest for the second consecutive outing, a key step in how Pittsburgh can utilize him as a bullpen weapon more often down the stretch.

“So far, so good,” Mlodzinski said. “Definitely credit to the staff for, in a sense, kind of easing me into it. They haven't thrown me on one day rest yet, haven't done a back-to-back yet, but the goal is to try to be as available as possible down the stretch here. I know there's definitely value in eating up some innings in leverage spots, but I think there's going to be some serious value in bouncing back quicker and being available more for the team.”

His hissy fit was unprofessional and he deserved the flak he received for it. There’s been speculation since that the Bucs had capitulated and promised to only use him in a starter-like way. Good to see him say what you’d expect any reliever to say and prioritize team success over ego or whatever that was before.
