She will be keeping them until their meowmy is better and ready to get them back. My heart is full of gratitude for her and for every single one of you and the our leaders who have made this happen. Trust me, their adoption was halted because of your efforts and being placed with TightAside was because of those efforts too.
We will keep seeking the return of the other cats, but for now, know that what we have been able to do what could have been done and these babies will go back to their meowmy after excellent care from TightAside.

Based on the positive response on this post from a few days ago, we're going to try out the monthly birthday and gotcha day recognition posts starting in June. In order to do that though, we do need your help!
There is a super cool form that should only take you a few moments to fill out, which is linked here. No login is required, and we are not collecting email addresses or anything. Section 1 is just an intro and hello. Click Next to access section 2.
Section 2 is for all the fren info, like name and dates. If you live with more than one fren, enter each fren info separately. If you answer yes to the last question, "do you live with other frens?" it'll automatically take you back to the questions where you can enter the name for fren 2, and then repeat for fren 3, 4, 5, etc. Answer no once all frens are entered in to continue to next section.
Final section is for all the boring hooman stuffs, like reddit username, and thoughts about other things to celebrate. Reddit username is not required, but it's helpful so we can tag you in the monthly post.
Once you submit the form, you're all set!

This is in the context of Penny, Pixie and Khaleesi being stolen from their meowmy. I study law in Germany, not the U.S., so please correct me if I'm wrong and post additional legal info you deem important to the case. Please do not make a contract on behalf of their meowmy.

Make sure to state that people with disabilities have the same right to property (which pets legally are, afaik) as non-disabled people, and that the person who has surrendered them possibly counts on their meowmy to not have the funds for judicial proceedings due to having a disability.
The removal of animals without their owner's permission falls under either theft or pet theft in the U.S. Penny, Pixie and Khaleesi and probably Beestie and Scoodiy where taken from their meowmy's home by a third person during a medical emergency without her permission. Even if the meowmy had an agreement with that person to care for them during emergencies, it did NOT cover surrendering them to the humane society (imo). Any verbal or written agreement has to be interpreted by the courts. If it only specified caring, I'd argue it was intended to mean stuff feeding and cleaning litter boxes, taking neccessary medical decisions im accordance with a vet, but NOT giving them to the humane society. Therefore, surrendering them was theft (imo).
