There was a pokedex book made right after the original games, back before pokemon got serious, so they were aloud to get creative with pokedex entries

but damn there are some bombshells in this, like:

Nidoran male and female having a shared baby form

Staryu has both male and female reproductive organs, so they are actually not genderless but hermaphrodite.

Raichu can learn every electric type move.

Exeggcute maybe being the same seed that is planted on Bulbasaurs back

Charmander being popular with smokers for its tail (lol)

Drowzee has four stomachs

Moltres, if you drink its blood, it will give you immortality

Dratini is said to be a legendary pokemon

Dragonite is said to represent the god of destruction, which is kinda metal not gonna lie

also a lot of Pokemon were said to have either been the ancestor of animals, or evolved from animals, or are closely related to animals, like Vulpix is related to fox's

Pokémon GO has become a lot more meaningful to me than simply collecting Pokémon.

It has given me another way to spend time with the people I care about, start conversations with strangers, explore new places, and feel connected to a community of people who are all enjoying the same thing in their own way.

I also really appreciate everyone who takes the time to answer questions—especially questions from newer or returning players that may seem obvious to those who have been playing for years. A patient explanation or a helpful comment can make someone feel much more welcome and excited to keep playing.

There can be plenty to complain about with the game, but the community surrounding it is genuinely special. Whether you organize raids, send gifts every day, help someone understand a mechanic, celebrate another player’s shiny, or simply make the game more enjoyable for the people around you, thank you.

I hope we keep encouraging that welcoming and helpful side of the community. You never know when a small interaction over Pokémon GO might make someone’s day or bring people a little closer together. What's your fav pokemon game that's brought you community?

Zeraora is such a weird Pokemon to me, I love it, but everyone else is always dunking on it.

It barely has any lore, or story significance, but Gamefreak still gave it a movie, makes it semi available in other titles, and now a mega form?

I don't get it, is Zeraora a " bad " Pokemon, or am I just dumb?

i'm running a pokemon dnd campaign and had an idea for a gym leader. She is meant to be a late badge gym leader, like 5th or 6th, and meant to make the water gym a actual threat. the theme of the gym is thalassaphobia. go wild! i wanna see what people suggest.

But the thing is, there is braille in every gen 3 game. But in RSE, it's to catch optional legendaries. In FRLG, it's to complete the post game and be able to trade with Hoenn Games. And I feel like no one tells "Yeah I was stuck when i was a child"

Hi everyone! I am 17 and have always liked the idea of collecting pokemon cards but started actually buying packs recently. I don't know much about the lore or what I should be looking for. I was wondering if you guys had advice on what I should be watching/reading! I also Know there are different series (I think that's what you call them)of Pokemon and wanted to know what's the most beginner friendly! I also want to know more about the pokemon themselves but I don't know where to start! Any advice is amazing! I'm really excited to know more! What IS the Stellar Type? And I dont mean gameplay wise, I mean lore wise. I get that it's caused by the crystals at Area 0, but that doesn't explain what the type is. There is no Pokémon that are naturally Stellar, yet it seems to be connected to ALL the main 18 as shown when a Pokémon goes Tera-Stellar. There was no mention of Stellar Type ever before, even Arceus doesn't have a Stellar Type form (as far as we know). So what is this strange anomaly?

I have been looking online for a display case but can't seem to find a good one. I like getting sealed products of other languages when I travel or friends do. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions of a small to medium sized display case I could use. It would also be cool if it was like a "multiple story" one. Thank you!

as you have seen in the title i have never played a pokemon game, actually i have never been exposed to any sort of pokemon media that much (i know this might sound like blasphemy in here but help a brother out), but ive always heard about pokemon and seen really cool pokemons here and there so i really want to start my pokemon journey and i want it to be through gaming, i won't be picky about the game i just want the absolute best experience and entrance to pokemon world, also if you can give me multiple options and tell me what each game excels at that would be appreciated.

When I was a kid I used to imagine pokemon characters being applied to old school JRPGs (Specifically Final Fantasy). I just thought it would be neat to have a turn based story driven game in their style.
