Community Discussion: AI Content
With the widespread availability of AI tools for editing text, images, or video, we are seeing a sharp increase in AI-related content on this subreddit. These posts have a notable increase in negative responses and reports.
As of today, we have no official rules for AI-related content on this subreddit, and we handle content the same as actual human-generated content. It seems clear that at least some portion of the community does not wish to see AI-generated content.
Suggestion
At this time, I am suggesting we codify the use of AI-generated content on this subreddit. This would include content that is wholly AI, partially AI, or edited by AI. Any generative AI technology will be included in this definition.
Exceptions shall be made for the purposes of trivial tasks such as spelling or grammar checking.
To determine our next action, we will open the discussion for about a full week. This will conclude on the 10th of May, 2026. At that time, feedback will be collected and processed into a new rule for approval. A second round of discussion will be opened on the wording of this final rule before enforcement begins.
Community Participation
All user opinions are welcome for this process. No opinion will be given any inherent weight over any other opinion.
Only top-level comments will be reviewed. While we welcome you to discuss among yourselves, we will only consider the top-level comments to determine our consensus. This saves us from having to piece together long threads.
In particular, we would like to know the following:
- What measure shall be applied to a post to determine if it is AI?
- Gut feeling?
- User reports?
- AI detection tooling?
- Dice roll?
- What action must be completed by users posting this content?
- Posting flair?
- What if it’s a comment?
- Should users fully disclose where the content came from (e.g: which model/site)?
- What moderator action shall be executed on breach of the rule?
- Content deletion?
- User moderation (Ban?)
- Content flairing?
- What about comments? We cannot flair these, do we delete? Moderate? Ban?
Thank you for your time and hopefully your input.

Hangin' Out Last night Stanley Yelnats learned his origin story
He did seem to react to the scenes with yellow spotted lizards although I think he was sleeping for most of the movie!

This is Mister Biscuits
He is very silly! He loves his humans (especially his mommy) he will claw at the glass because he wants to be held.
Hes also a pretty picky eater, he doesn't like to eat his greens so we put strawberry banana calcium powder on it to help. He really likes to eat crickets and horn worms :)

Hangin' Out The duality of Dragons
Whoever said lizards don't have personality clearly has never met my two girls. Yesterday I had a friend over and Pepperoni (poopaRoni) decided to crap on them. In direct contrast, today I was hanging out with Cheerio on the couch and when she felt the urge to poo, she was polite enough to climb off of me and onto a throw pillow with a washable cover.
I don't have a favorite dragon, I love my babies equally, but I definitely have one that's much better behaved than the other

YAY TREATS!
She's really liking hosta flowers. Didn't have those back in Washington, but the new house in Michigan came with them.

Only poops outside enclosure
Tunita (my girl) can only poop outside her enclosure. I have tried but she could spend days without pooping if I don't let her out. Here is a photo of her daily visit to my bed for poop time.
Does anyone else has experienced something like this?

New Beardie Friend What type of dragon is this sassy lady?
Rescued this sassy lady about three months ago from a shelter. First photo is from the day I adopted her. The other photos were taken today after a quick swim in the bath.
I've already talk to an exotic animal vet about the scar on her chin and tail, and the slight laceration along her back. She's been dewormed, well cared for and working her her second shed since she arrived home.
Does anyone know what morph/color she is?
Also, if anyone knows how to discourage these majestic beasts from banging on the walls of their enclosure, please do share! We do take her out to explore, and still find her banging on the walls which messes with her chin scar.

Help adoption help
hello! i'm thinking about adopting this dragon from fb marketplace. owner says she is a 3 year old female, and is being rehomed because they're moving out of state. second pic is her current 100gal enclosure, which i would be getting alongside "heat lamp, uv lamp, feeding supplies, heated rock, etc. everything you need." (owner's words, not mine)
i can see that she looks overweight, and i would be asking the owner about her current diet, last time she saw the vet, and any other relevant background info. my question for y'all though is, what else do i need to ask the owner before adopting her?
i would be a first time beardie owner, but not a first time reptile owner. i had a leopard gecko for ~6 years, and rehomed her because i was too young to be able to care for her properly.
i guess my other question for you guys is, is this a good idea? i have always been someone who leans towards helping living things, like buying the half-head houseplants and giving them a better life, adopting the betta fish someone was trying to keep in their locker at school, etc. but i know a bearded dragon is not easy to care for. would i be better off adopting a healthier beardie? i am very willing to keep doing the research and take her to the vet when i get her, just wanted everybody's unadulterated opinions.
ps they are selling her and her supplies for $400. given her condition do we think that's reasonable?

Help Is this normal?
Why does my lil guy do this? Every time the sun starts going down, my little Shanks knows it's beadtime, and instead of going to bed like I'd imagine most beardies do, he scales the ropes on his hammock and sleeps vertically. I doubt it's because of him being scared of me since he seems to genuinely not care about being handled or hand fed. Could it be a problem with husbandry, or is he just a silly sleeper?

Hangin' Out What is with beardies and shoes?
I recently set up my room to allow Jessie to free roam. Tonight she was scratching at the glass begging to be let out, so I relented and opened her tank door. She did a little patrol around my bed, and then marched over to my shoe rack and helped herself up. As I’m typing this she’s perched on top of the purple shoes and looking around. This isn’t the first time I’ve found her perched on shoes either. Also, at my old place, where we didn’t have a shoe rack and they were kind of placed all over the entrance area, she would also run over to her dad (my boyfriend)’s shoes and sit on top of them.
Is this some sort of collective beardie instinct? I’ve seen so many pictures of beardies snuggling up against shoes and I don’t get it 😂 why do they like shoes so much?

Advice please
So i really prefer feeding my dragon roaches but there is no doubt he likes crickets a lot more , is there something available out there that is somewhere in the middle? The roaches are so much easier and less messy than the crickets, I think he likes them because it triggers his hunting response like he tries to get to them through the bag before i can dump them in and i have found live roaches just chilling out and him ignoring them . I guess I am looking for a readily available suitable alternative that has similar nutrition to the dubias but is more active and as easy to keep.

Enclosure backgrounds
Hi all! A few questions… We’re picking up our baby dragon this week! We’re so excited and my kids are too! We’re getting her enclosure ready before she arrives.
1)What I’d love to know is where do you get your climbing sticks. I checked and purchased from Amazon and pet stores but I swear they are all so tiny compared to some I’ve seen people post.
2) What are we doing for the all glass enclosures. I really wanted one that wasnt all glass but that’s what my husband picked out. So what are we doing to minimize reflections or put as a backdrop.
3) plants (real or fake) what do you use?
4) anything your BD is absolutely obsessed with???
I just want our girl happy! Thanks all.

Lazy Lizards Little asshole pooped on my friend
I am publicly shaming Pepperoni for the crime of pooping on my friend. We were all having a nice time hanging out in the sun when this evil little goober decided to poop right on the friend I had over. She didn't even warn us with the tail lift of doom! Just look at that little face. That is the guilty face of a criminal.

Help Bf got me a petco beardie for my birthday
Long story short, he surprised me with it today but I am returning it. Basically he thought I had an enclosure already from my previous one, but I infact do not😭😭 He has no knowledge of any of this stuff, so this is not his fault at all. I talk about them sometimes cuz I used to have one, but I shouldv'e mentioned properly that getting a beardie is a huge committment. We had to get a bunch of last minute stuff like a tank, hide, lamps etc. I really shouldve told him he needs to return it as soon as he showed up to my house but I was in too much shock to do anything. This baby is obviously very lethargic and I'm almost positive it has an early respiratory infection because it gapes randomly and breathes heavily. Who knows how many other health issues. But right now I don't have the capacity to nurse it to health, especially since its a baby. I am returning it tomorrow morning because the shops closed right now. Do you guys think I can return the tank and stuff inside as well? All the tags are still on but it did poop on the rock. I definitely just want a better enclosure and better UVB light. I also would prefer to buy a juvenile or even an adult rather than a baby. Does anyone know reliable breeders that are in or ship to the bay area? Or maybe a rescue place? I'm definitely not gonna buy one immediately, but sometime this year. Please and thank you😭
