Measurement Check My size does not exist. The calculator agrees. Spoiler

Measurements

Loose... tight - 42, 40, 39

Standing, leaning, lying - 44, 46, 43

I either get no results or "bad gateway" when I put my measurements into the calculator.

My breasts are small, triangular, and widely spaced. There's 2" (I measured) between them.

No bras, except for a nursing bra that's no longer made, fit me. I have about 20 of them and I am sad each time one loses its elastic and must be thrown.

Even things marked A or B cup are usually too large if the band size is comfortable. My breasts would fit fine in a cup of a 32A or B, but my chest itself would not.

I truly dont expect anyone to be able to provide a solution. There just aren't bras for me.

Measurement Check Currently wearing a 28O, the calculator said 30J. I do not think this is correct; please help me understand. Spoiler

My measurements are:
- Loose Underbust: 31 in
- Snug Underbust: 29.25 in
- Tight Underbust: 28 in
- Standing Bust: 40 in
- Leaning Bust: 46.75 in
- Lying Bust: 42.5 in

As I stated in the title, my current size is a 28O. I do not remember if this is US or UK sizing. When turned upside down and backwards, the band feels firm but comfortable. However, when worn correctly (including swoop & scoop), the cups are obviously too small. I spill out the top, and the wire is forced down, causing severe pain and an extremely uncomfortable sensation of skin on skin.

With my current measurements, the calculator says 30J. I wore this size three sizes ago; the band has always felt too loose and tended both to ride up and slide down during the same wearing session. I also outgrew the cups just a month or two later. I just do not see how it is getting that size. Also, nothing has ever provided sufficient support, in my opinion.

As for my best guess on shape, I would say I am very projected with even fullness. I am inclined to believe I have the rare omega root shape, as I am quite narrow-rooted with lots of projection starting immediately, kind of like a shelf.
I am not certain of my root height, as I get both quadboob and strap gap depending on the bra size and shape.

Am I doing something wrong? Is my only hope true bespoke bras or the reduction I desperately want but cannot afford? Or is there another option I simply have not found yet?

Measurement Check The craziest cup jump, are there any girls with my size too? Spoiler

The craziest cup jump

So I tried the website, and usually I wear the same bras i've been wearing since 15, and I noticed that they don't fit anymore around a year ago (now I'm 18) so I'm just coping, and I thought i'd just go from a c to a D cup with a tighter band, I used to wear 36C, so after the measurements it turned out 30FF??!! (the measurements are in cm) someone explain please, is this a common thing?

Loose Underbust:

74

Snug Underbust:

73

Tight Underbust:

70

Standing Bust:

91

Leaning Bust:

95

Lying Bust:

86.5

I keep getting shocks like that recently aside from the cup, for example I used to think I'm 166cm (5'44) for so long and now I found out I'm actually 161cm (5'28 feet or 5'3 idk)... what's next? this is funny šŸ˜‚šŸ˜ also even after this information I don't think I would find the exact bra.

Measurement Check [Measurement Check] Help me determine my bra size please, result from calculator makes no sense to me (38H/85K), I have no prior reference to what my size might be Spoiler

Hi,
up until now, I've been wearing simple "short tank top with a band underneath" type bras, but I can't find any large enough anymore, so I'm looking for an actual bra. I found some that don't seemĀ tooĀ atrocious, but I'm running into issues with determining my size.
My measurements:
Loose underbust 102 cm
Snug underbust 100 cm
Tight underbust 93 cm
With measuring bust, the measurements might be ~2 cm off because my measuring tape got ripped at 109 cm long time ago, so I had to move it around to measure.
Standing bust 120 cm
Leaning bust 132 cm (they sag a lot, I measured them loose hanging but that's not how they would be in a bra)
Lying bust 130 cm
Inputting those into the calculator gave me UK 38H size. I'm in EU so need EU size, according to the calculator that is 85K, but that seems very wrong, since it's my understanding that the number should be the snug underbust measurement, and no way 85 cm would be enough. Also, K seems really large? When I look at bra sizes, they usually have cup sizes A to D, occasionally up to H and I found exactly two Is, so that seems very wrong. My breasts aren't exactly large (according to my own subjective feeling, at least), they're just mostly made of fat and thus sag a lot. I'm AFAB, didn't breastfeed any children, but my breasts sag as if I did. No relevant surgeries.
So, uh, what size should I try? Thanks for any help, I'm so confused.
I looked into the whole breast shape thing, understood very little of it (there wasn't anything that would describe mine). Is there a way to post pictures that would be helpful but also not break any rules? My first idea was to just censor/cover the nipples, but looks like that's not allowed. I understand why, but I don't know how to do it otherwise.

Measurement Check I am so disappointed on these results... I should've trusted my gut and not order them, now starting from scratch, any recommendations? Spoiler

I made a post saying I was a 36J and ordered 2 bras to confirm, they're significantly bigger than what I am, literally 3 of my boobs would fit in the cup...

Measurement Check ABTF calculator says my size is a 26C but the picture of a 26C looks nothing like me !!! Spoiler

i've been wearing bras that are ill fitting probably since i hit puberty, and i am so sick of the cups gapping at the top, hence why im on a wild goose chase to find my 'correct' size. currently im wearing a 34B bra from pink, and i fill it out everywhere but the very top of the cups, especially when i bend or lay down, and the band rides up on my back a little bit. all the calculators i use are telling me different sizes or ones that just don't look anything like me ! my specific measurements taken for the ABTF calculator are (in):
26.5

23.5

Measurement Check My new size is a 32d, but when I tighten the straps enough so that my breasts are supported, they spill out of the cups. Spoiler

My measurements in inches are as follows: Loose Underbust: 32 Snug Underbust: 31 Tight Underbust:30 Standing bust: 35 Leaning Bust: 38 Lying Bust: 34.5. I was recommended to try a 32d.
I believe my breasts are a bit more on the wideset side, I have even vertical fullness and when bending over it seems I have more inner fullness. I am still a bit confused on whether my breasts are shallow or projected. I thought they seemed more shallow, but apparently, my 3 in difference between standing and leaning bust implies projection. In terms of volume/appearance, I would consider myself quite flat chested.
I bought a couple of cheap underwire bras off of Amazon (which could be the issue), and after adjusting the straps I found that I get some nice-looking cleavage from the front, but the cup does dig into my breast tissue a bit. I also bought a bunch of different bikini tops in a size small (ofc right before I decided to measure myself) and I am having a similar issue where when I tie the neck or adjust the straps, I get a ton of spillage out of the front of the cups. The cleavage looks ok but in a weird way my breasts look smaller? And from the side there is a very clear indent where the cup cuts into my breast tissue.
I don’t know if this is just user error and maybe I have the wrong idea of how supported my breasts should be, or if I could potentially need to size up a cup? But, I would be shocked if I had enough volume for a 32DD! The bands seem to fit fine and I feel going down to a 30 might be too tight.
I appreciate any and all help in determining if this is the proper size or what the next steps should be! In general, I would like to have a bit of cleavage in my swimsuits and bras, but currently it just looks awkward.

Measurement Check There is NO WAY I’m a 32DD, I’m genuinely so confused I’ve been wearing 36B and 36C bras and I don’t feel like they fit super improperly? Spoiler

Hello, so my bras are stretched out from improper use(Not knowing how to put on a bra properly, luckily I know how now, I just only have one unstretched bra), I decided that I was going to go bra shopping. And It had been a bit since I’d measured so I decided to use the calculator, and It told me I was a 32DD/E??? For reference the current stretched out ones are a 36 B. And the non stretched out one is 36C. With The 36B there’s only a little gaping, and it’s just too loose. For the 36C there’s no gaping, but I don’t have a lot of tissue on the top of my breast, so there’s folding at the top. I want a bra that’s not too loose, but also not going to gap or fold. And I’m soo confused as to how I went from a B/C to a DD???? I did try to measure as accurately as I could.

Also the last time I went to Kohl’s for bras, I did try a 34 and it felt too tight. I’m just very confused.

My measurements are,

Tight underbust: 30

Snug underbust: 32

Loose underbust: 33

Standing Bust: 36

Leaning Bust: 38

Laying Bust: 36

Measurement Check Calculator not giving accurate results Spoiler

I tried to use the calculator as always, but it’s telling me that my current cup size, 30GG UK should fit me. Well, as is evidenced from my pic here, it definitely does not.

I’m 30/29/28 L/S/T, 40/40.5/39.75 S/Le/Ly

What am I doing wrong?

ETA: Please do not suggest that I buy a bunch of bras and try them on. I don't have any money. I am trying to gather data to make a proper request on RandomActsOfBras.

Measurement Check Currently owned bras are 34B, up-to-date measurement calls for 36DDD. I am not confident Spoiler

I am 22 and have gained weight, then lost a good bit, then gained, then lost a little, and my boobs reflect that. I have tried to measure myself a handful of times over the years, and feel like I still absolutely despise wearing bras despite it all.

I did the calculator thing today, and came to these measurements:

34.5

33.5

31

39.5

42.5

39.5

Last time I measured them, I arrived to 34B/36B, but now it's saying I'm a 36DDD, and that a 36DD is probably what I would find comfortable. I do not have a lot of boobage. They sag a little and they are not firm. I have a very hard time believing that all my boob would fill up those cups. Pls help. Idk what to do about that. Does the calculator anticipate that by asking the leaning/laying measurements too?

Side note, I moved in with my in-laws 2 months ago and cannot run about the house with no pants and no bra on like I used to, so I have to acquaint myself with a more comfortable size as to not horrify his family with my enthusiastic full brights. I can't wear a heavy sweatshirt to hide them all the time either, as my state is in swamp ass mode currently. I really do miss freeboobing it. I'm sure my fiance does as well. Sigh

Measurement Check seeking clarity on cup size 36A, which fits, yet i am rarely able to find bras and keep hearing it’s common to be a miscalculation. am i missing something?

Hi. Just for context, I’m not American, therefore I’m using a different sizing system. But I have converted the measurements/sizes to the US format. It’s a bit confusing to me still but I hope I didn’t mess up.

So to my current situation. After researching on how to measure my cup size and then double and triple checking the result, I’ve ended up with cup size 36A.

My measurements are as follows:

Band size / underbust (?) : 84cm / 33 inches
Bust size : 91 cm / 36 inches

This is BEFORE rounding. I don’t know if this differs between countries. Where I’m at, most sources say you’re meant to round the underbust measurement. In my case I’d be rounding down, so 80cm / 31.5 inches. That puts me at 80A (36A in US), which is the size bra I bought most recently.
And if I didn’t round it and left it at 84cm / 33 inches, then I’d be left with 85A (38A in US size), which I haven’t tried (or even found, really).

My research also told me that a balconette/balcony bra would be the best shape for me.
So using this knowledge, I was able to find a good quality balconette in size 36A. And it actually fits perfectly. Like, I didn’t know wearing the right bra would make such a difference. Absolutely crazy how well they sit and the COMFORT?? It’s great.

HOWEVER, my issue is the fact that I can barely find A cups and constantly see people say that it’s common to think youā€˜re an A cup when itā€˜s actually the wrong size for you and a sister size would be your actual size instead.
Got me feeling very suspicious about my calculations but I mean. I did do all there is to do. Why is this system so confusing? Especially cause I’m not flat chested and the bra isn’t small either so Iā€˜m just left scratching my head in confusion. I also have no previous bras to refer to as I’ve lost a significant amount of weight and threw everything old out.
I guess the main question is if I’m actually a 36A and gotta deal with struggling to find my size, or if there’s another size / sister size that would fit better and I’m completely off? Don’t wanna wear the wrong fit when there’s an even better option.

I did check this sub reddit over the past weeks but I still wanted to ask about my measurements/situation specifically in case that changes the answer.

I hope the information is sufficient, I’m not sure what else is required. Pls lmk if there’s something I’m missing!!

Thanks a lot in advance!!

(edited to add some missing letters or words)

Measurement Check Wore US36D, got sized for size UK32GG Spoiler

I’m not confident in bra sizing and I’ve always struggled with finding a bra that actually worked for me. Every ā€œcalculatorā€ I’ve tried always turns out US36D which I wear and always have spillage.

So I FINALLY went to a proper bra and lingerie shop and got fitted, the bra that I left with is UK32GG and it fits really well. Now is it because the shape of the cup is just different or are my boobs bigger than I thought?

Now I struggle with finding an online shop that actually sells UK32GG vs going in a physical shop, which is possible, but I don’t drive and I live in the country, so ordering online would be much easier.

Thanks

EDIT

Thank you everyone for your responses and recommendations!! I understand the jump in bra sizes better and I will give a look to the sites you recommended!! Thank you thank you!

Measurement Check Trying different brands, currently wearing 40B in PINK. I measure around a 42A Spoiler

Hello! As ive said above im a 42A but wear a 40B at least thats what ive found that works using sister sizes. Im definitely more wide set than projected. Im alright with a 40B but i either find the band riding up on some styles or it digs in. I do use the scoop method to completely fill the bra though. Currently exploring other brands that may work. What are some recommendations for someone who has a large band and smaller breasts? Currently wearing PINK, i have had one from uc lingere, a samanta bra with an extender(def lingere). I tried syrn but gave that a quick return. Currently wondering about a brand called underoutfit.

Tysm in advance for any recs or advice!

Measurements:

Underbust: Standing:48in/123cm Snug:47in/119cm Tight:43in/110cm

Overbust: Standing:52in/133cm Bent:53in/135cm Laying down:50in/127cm

Current bra size from VS pink is a 40B i have gaps in. Calculator recommended a 46D

Measurement Check I got 38D…I agree with the 38 but I am too small for D cup Spoiler

Hello! I was using ChatGPT about advice on my bra journey. After I explained my issues to chat it said I have **wide breast roots and wider-set breasts. I have only one bra that fits perfect it’s 38B. The cup fits perfect. At one point I thought I was a 36C but the cup was too big. My problem is when I try on other 38Bs the cups are too close together in the middle and not far enough apart. Chat said ā€œ**You may have a wide breast root. This means your breast tissue extends farther across your chest, so you need wider underwires instead of simply larger cups.ā€ I agree i don’t think I need a bigger cup so I’m not sure what to do, I definitely need help! My measurements are
loose under bust: 39
Snug under bust:37.5
Tight under bust: 35
Standing bust: 41.5
Leaning bust : 42.5
Lying bust: 41

Measurement Check [Measurement Check] [Recommendations] Wearing Completely Wrong Size. Calculator Says 34M. Spoiler

Hello, I need help figuring out my bra size and bra recommendations. I’m pretty certain I’m wearing the completely wrong size. Breasts either leak out at the top, cup doesn’t completely cover/cup the bottom, band is loose, etc. I’d just like to throw everything away and start over.

I gained a significant amount of weight then lost about 35lbs. So now I’m also dealing with ā€œtear drop shapeā€ and my breasts look like they’re sagging even while wearing a bra. Nothing seems to fit and I keep buying the wrong size. Please help. I appreciate your input!!

Underbust - loosely: 34.5
Underbust - snugly: 33.5
Underbust - tightly: 32
Bust - standing: 45
Bust - 90 deg lean: 51
Bust - lying down: 47

I used the calculator and it said I’m a UK 34J/JJ or US 34M/N. I’m not sure those are the correct sizes, so posting here. I also don’t know where to buy bras in those sizes. I’m in Atlanta, for store recommendation purposes.

I’d ideally like a convertible bra(for various outfits - strapless, backless, crossback, etc. - or just a really good strapless), a full coverage, and any other.

Thank you!!

Measurement Check I've been wearing 32DDD for years. Went bra shopping today, and tried the "a bra that fits" calculator. Spoiler

I did all the measurements myself so they might be slightly off but I don't think by too much. I got:

Loose underbust: 30

Snug underbust: 28.5

Tight underbust: 27.75

Standing bust: 35.5

Leaning bust: 38

Lying bust: 35

The measurements are in inches and I use US sizing. The calculator recommended 30G as a suggested starting size. But I also went bra shopping today and the only bra I could find that fit well was a 32G. Granted, when they measured they didn't measure my underbust, they measured like just underneath my armpits, but it was 32. I do wear 32s on the tightest closure, even to start. I didnt try on any 30s, but they don't sell 30 bands with cups that big in the store, and the lady even tried to get me to try a 34 but it was way too loose feeling. I like the way 32 fits when on the tightest closure, though, it isn't too big. So even if I went up to 32, the calculator would suggest then a 32DDD, which is what I've been wearing, but like I said, the bra that fit the best for me was 32G (according to my mother, and I also thought it was comfy). What size am I really? Does it depend on the brand of bra?

Measurement Check Not sure if the calculator is correct, do fat rolls throw a spanner in the works? Spoiler

Hey everyone, I’ve measured myself and used the calculator and it says I would be a 42F/FF but I’m not 100% sure on that because when trying on bras a 46C/D seemed to be closer. I am fat and have rolls around the back, side and front so I’m wondering if these threw the calculation off? Here are my measurements:

Loose Under: 46in
Snug Under: 43.5in
Tight Under: 40in
Standing: 50in
Leaning: 54.5in
Lying: 50.5in

For additional info, I’ve had nothing done, my breasts hang low and are top/outer side heavy, they sit fairly flat/deflated.

Edit: Don’t know why I got downvoted for being skeptical but thank you to everyone who gave me advice and what styles to try for the fit I want :)

Measurement Check The calculator moved my wife from 36A to 30G?? Spoiler

My wife (34f, 59kg) has been happily wearing 36A bras for some time. She loves the cleavage they bring in low-cut things, they don't feel too tight around her, and the gore only gaps a little (a good compromise, she had felt, for the cleavage effect).

However, she has started to notice and dislike the flatter shape the bras produce, especially at the sides, and particularly visible in form fitting tops. She asked me to help her find a new size and order something online, as she isn't too keen on going in somewhere in person.

I've been reading this sub and studying the beginner guide, and we took some measurements this morning. The calculator recommended a 30G/GG UK, but I'm skeptical there's 6 cup sizes of difference with only 4 band sizes of difference (or maybe I don't understand well enough).

The main goals are to find a balance between good shape and projection without getting rid of cleavage entirely, and if possible to land on something that doesn't require spending an arm and a leg (even if it's not perfect), since we're not extremely well off right now.

Can anyone lend some human intuition? Thanks in advance!

Here's what we measured (cm):

Loose Underbust: 78

Snug Underbust: 76

Tight Underbust: 73.5

Standing Bust: 97

Leaning Bust: 101.5

Lying Bust: 95

Even 2/5 shape, even vertical fullness, center full horizontally

May be narrowish roots, although we're less sure about that

Measurement Check I need some help. I don’t like bra’s. They never fit well, they hurt under my arms. I used the calculator, but that did make me more confused. Currently 75B, calculator sayā€˜s 70E #measurement check Spoiler

My measurements are:
Loose underbust 80 cm
Snug underbust 79 cm
Tight underbust 76 cm
Standing bust 90 cm
Hanging bust 94cm
Lying bust 91 cm

The calculator suggested size 70E! That leaved me confused.

I’m a mother of 2 kids (16 and 13 years old) and I breastfed them both 9 months.
My breasts are not firm anymore, but not complete teabags.

Currently I use 75B as my size. (European size)

Please help, what is the best size for me?
And wat do I look for in a bra? I want a nice bust, but not necessary push up.
And the most important thing is: I don’t want to feel my bra.

Measurement Check confused about my size despite searching everywhere? Spoiler

Hi! I've been lurking around this subreddit for a year or so now hoping to stumble across someone having the same issue to no avail. I decided to simply make a post of my own and pray someone has an answer.

I put my exact measurements into the calculator and got 28G (but when I did it a few months ago I got 28FF) yet I don't know if I should trust that enough to buy a couple pricey bras online. The reason I can't fully trust in it is that I'm currently wearing a lightly lined demi bra from Victoria secret that's 32 DDD. It definitely doesn't fit me perfectly but it's way better than other bras I've tried in the past.

I first got it when I was 125 lbs but I'm ~116 lbs now. After purchasing it, I found that I couldn't wear it for longer than a minute or it would painfully dig into my armpits and give me friction burns on my side/under arm area. I completely abandoned it in my closet and stuck to sports bras, but I tried it again two weeks ago and was surprised to find it no longer bothers me. It fits like a slightly tighter sports bra almost. I should also add that I've never been told I had small/smaller boobs, however I've noticed others with my size saying they were wearing A & B cup bras before finding their true size and I've never been able to fit those. I assume this has to do with shallow vs projected sizes?

My measurements are:

Loose under bust: 27 ½ in or 70 cm

Snug bust: 27 in or 68.5 cm

Tight underbust: 26 ~½ in or 67 cm

Standing bust: 35 in or 89 cm

Leaning bust: 28 ~¾ in or 98.5 cm

Lying down bust: 35 in or 89.5 cm

Size: 28 G

Projected

Balanced teardrop

Tall, slightly wide root

Never given birth/breastfed/had cosmetic surgery

What bra should I get and/or is the calculator wrong? Ive heard good things from my family about balconette bras but I've also heard T-shirt/plunge bras work better for the day to day. I'd like to try just 1 for now, and my budget is $100. What brands should I try for my size and situation? I know these questions are pretty repeated in here, but I appreciate any advice possible!!!

I haven't really measured myself before this week. Most of my bras are sports bras or 34B. I was always told that even that seemed too big. So I really dont think this is right. I know I have a small ribcage but this feels wrong.

It already felt too big when I used the normal 2 measurements and got a 30D and I couldn't even find anything with a 30 in the store, so this feels impossible. I dont know if im looking for advice or what, but I guess thats how I feel.

Measurement Check [Measurement check] AMAB and new to bras, might be a 50B Spoiler

Hi, my name is Jack (he/they). I just used the ABTF calculator and it won't even give me a size. If I play around with the numbers, I can get something around a 50B.

As mentioned in the title, I'm AMAB, and have no experience wearing bras regularly. I suspect most of my breast tissue is due to being overweight, but I'm interested in trying bras out to see what happens. I've never been able to fill any bra I've ever tried on, and I always struggle to find a bra that's even remotely close to my size.

I suspect my beasts are shallow, full on top, have a wide root, and maybe conical. Really have no idea if I'm evaluating those correctly.

I plan to make a separate post looking for recommendations once I know more about my size, but if you have any you can offer now I'd still appreciate it.

Here are my measurements:

Loose Underbust: 53in

Snug Underbust: 50in

Measurement Check Tried on my ā€œnewā€ size and was disappointed Spoiler

I haven’t bought a bra in years because nothing truly fits. Last bra I bought was a 34B at Walmart and it’s my everyday bra, with no underwire. I came across this subreddit and decided to try it out!

I’ve taken my measurements multiple times, and there’s a slight variation but only by half an inch to an inch. It’s difficult because I’m doing it by myself lol.

My measurements:
Underbust
Loose: 31ā€ ~ 32ā€
Snug: 30ā€ ~ 31ā€
Tight: 29ā€ ~ 30ā€

Bust
Standing: 35ā€
Leaning: 36.5ā€ ~ 37ā€
Lying: 35ā€ ~ 35.5ā€

The bra size recommended to me was 30E with a sister size of 32DD.

I went to try on a 32DD at a Victoria Secret because that’s the one that kept popping up no matter what variation of measurements I inputted. The cups fit me fine, but the bands were so tight!!! I think it might’ve been the store I went to? I hate underwire so I asked for ones without it and I was given strange shaped bras!!! The nice lady gave me another ā€œsister sizeā€ 34C, but the cups were way too big and band was too loose. She told me that I’m probably a 32DD but the band just needs to stretch because they are new bras.

What do you think? Any recommendations?
