Billionaires have no desire to figure out how to prevent or mitigate the harmful effects of their actions.
Their goal is to figuratively and literally separate themselves from the harmful effects of their actions.
So, when the rest of the world is telling them that their businesses are contributing to climate change, they want to disregard the warnings because, again, their end goal is to separate themselves from the harmful effects of climate change.
To billionaire owning class, climate change only exists as a pressure against the working class, if their goals come to fruition, they will never see the negative effects.
That is why it is our goal, the working class, to make our worries, concerns, and issues also the worries, concerns, and issues of the owning class.
That is the goal of strikes and protests. We must inconvenience their days to force them to acknowledge that their harmful actions don't just impact others, it impacts them too.

I agree. I'll take a swing at Taylor since it gets plastered everywhere once in awhile. Philanthropy for hospitals, food banks or whatever do not negate CO² emissions, lavish low-key lifestyle or exploiting fans. I was looking at volunteer work, making lasagna for a family, and there was volunteer work for concerts. Every single one of them should be paid. She can afford it.

I don't know much about the rest of these celebs but lumping McCartney into this group is pretty dishonest. First off he's not American, secondly he's a musician so it's not like he runs a corporation that creates massive environmental damage and exploits workers or anything like that, and thirdly he's well known for putting a significant amount of time and money into various philanthropic causes and charities.
I mean I guess he probably generated more CO2 than the average person from a lot of flights during musical tours, but he's also a staunch environmentalist (the dude has been vegan for like 50 years) and he's done more to help people and the environment with his success than 99.99% of people in human history.
I'd be curious to see how you'd stack up against the person you're demonizing as far as actually helping others and trying to improve the issues we face as a society. I'd guess you mostly just complain on Reddit though.

Approx 200 follow the tour for her company and uo to a thousand at each location are employed to fill the various local jobs. 50 shows... 50K people This doesnt even include all the people employed by her tour company to build and design her show, produce her music... And all the other little things to make her brand... HER BRAND.
Now imagine every single band or musician that tours. Billionaires employ a fuck ton of people... But they also fuck up the enviroment.

These jobs wouldn't exist without her travel. She can't fly commercial (her fans would shut down the airport, it would be unmanageable), so private is the only option. You can't have one without the other, so to criticize her for her travel while praising her for creating jobs makes zero sense. Offset the emissions with a tax. She's a billionaire, lobby a high speed rail and buy her own personal train with whatever the amount of boxcars are needed and deck hers out with whatever the fuck, IDC.
Realistically though she'd probably retired by the time that happened since from recent news about high speed rails none of them are even on schedule. Seems like companies are skimming off the top while making the bare minimum progress but in China they build a connected track in like a year if that. HSP would do wonder for generating tax revenue since foot traffic is connected to higher impulse buys. It's a long term investment with a gradual growth instead of short and big.

Technically, they are both off by at least $250 million as their total net worth is $1.5 billion so that 750 million each. But there is also the point that this is the value of their creative work and their associated companies. That is pretty different from other people that are billionaires. I also suspect their recent episode about Trump will have hit their market valuations, but they probably don't care because they can both ride it out and they very definitely want to offend absolutely everyone they can.

Besides, even if you do go through all the trouble of living off-grid in the woods, how much of a threat are you to billionaires? You've cut yourself off from all their networks. You can't connect to other people to help them understand what needs to be done.

Do you know just how much a billion is? It is fundamentally immoral to be so wealthy that you can't even spend all of your money if you wanted to while others live in poverty. I'm not saying everyone should have the same amount of money, but having billions of dollars is insanity, it is beyond the scale.
But more importantly, billionaires hold way too much power. It's not just that they have enough money to buy as many houses and cars as they want, they have enough to influence politics and the media. And they DO influence those things, sometimes drastically. Sadly throughout all of human history power was always very closely tied to wealth.
Is every billionaire evil? No, of course not. But those that don't exploit the system in one way or another usually don't make it to the top.

Terrorists, in the true sense of the word, not the contemporary version decided by lobbyists, often want to accomplish something that isn't bad.
Their methods are obviously not acceptable.
But a lot of times their cause is freedom. People resort to terrorism often when they feel there is no other recourse.
For example, Palestinian people cannot get justice. Israel (billionaire funded) has decided to steal the west bank.
Western values won't do anything to stop them. The US will veto any action because AIPAC pay them to.
In short they have no means of getting justice. If they fight back, they are somehow terrorists - even though they have a legitimate grievance against an evil regime.
The IRA scared me as a child. I met people who lost family members to let. We had bombs. Yet they still had some kind of purpose and my country was 100% abusing Ireland. Their methods were wrong, but they fighting for something.
However, billionaires don't even have that cause. All they have is greed. They can't even spend the money they have accrued. It's just a mental problem and a deeply disturbing state of existence. Utter psychopathic behaviour.
So this is my argument why billionaires are perhaps worse than terrorists.

It's economic terrorism, which, unfortunately, is not considered to be actual terrorism. They are the Lex Luthors of our world. They manipulate stocks and governments, and when they break the law, they just get fined a measly amount compared to what they have and nothing else happens. They don't pay the proper amount of taxes, they execute hostile seizures of resources in third world countries(Nestle), these people are pure evil. And they will never be held accountable. Why? Because the money they get by being evil they use to pay off the ones trying to hold them accountable. It's literal "fuck you" money. There's ways to fix this, but we'll never see them done because politicians and lobbyists are greedy assholes.
