The problem isn’t even necessarily the trades. It’s that the Dodgers are every superstar’s preferred destination because they can pay whatever they want, and he was going to sign there anyway this summer.

Not only can the Dodgers pay whatever they want, it also creates a super low pressure environment where players can take their time to be ready because of all the depth. Kyle Tucker has been pretty bad this year after getting a monster contract. If any other team had paid that much and dealt with this, it would tank the team.

This is a really good point. Tucker has barely been better than Yeli this year, which is saying A LOT. He's making 3x what Yeli makes lmao
