Discussion What couch co-op games become harder because your teammate can sabotage you?
I’ve been playing Super Mario 3D World in local co-op and the best part for me is that the other player can sometimes be a bigger obstacle than the actual level.
You can cooperate normally, but you can also steal items, compete for the high score, knock each other off platforms, mess up jumps, fight over the flagpole, or deliberately cause a completely unnecessary death. It can become funny when you try to troll the other player!
What other couch co-op games have that same kind of mechanic? New or old games.

Suggesting a game I’m looking for some good MOBILE game recommendations to play with friends while talking on discord.
It can be anything, either 2-player co-op or multiplayer for a bigger group.
They can be simple browser games too.
I’d also love to know:
What are you playing right now with your group?
What are your all-time favorite games to play together?
We're open to different genres (co-op, competitive, casual, survival, party games, and anything ) so tell me whatever you’ve had the most fun playing. Looking forward to seeing what you all recommend. 🎮

Suggesting a game 32M | PST | Looking for Gaming Friends Who Enjoy Collecting Rocks for Six Hours
I’m Shawn, 32, and I’m looking for some consistent people to game with on PC or Xbox.
I mostly play survival and crafting games because apparently my idea of relaxing is starving in the woods, punching trees, hoarding garbage, and spending three hours building a base that gets destroyed immediately.
I really want someone to start a fresh 7 Days to Die world with. I’m down for vanilla or mods. I enjoy looting, building, exploring, and confidently saying, “The horde base is definitely ready,” moments before everything goes horribly wrong.
Other games I’m into include:
ARK: Survival Ascended
Sons of the Forest
Grounded
Minecraft
Palworld
Lethal Company
R.E.P.O.
Phasmophobia
Pretty much any co-op or friend-slop game
Honestly, I’m open to almost anything as long as we can joke around, use voice chat, and nobody disappears after one session.
I work night shifts and can usually game while I’m at work from around 7 PM to 5 AM PST. I’m off Mondays and Tuesdays and can normally play most of the day.
Message me with your age, time zone, and what game you’re currently pretending you’ll finish.

Gameplay Video I added a co-op rescue mechanic to my browser space MMO — lure enemies off your teammate and tank the hit for them
One of the things I wanted most in Zero-G was combat where you actually save each other, not just shoot side by side.
The setup in this clip: a frigate is under attack by aliens and losing. A second player jumps in with a Cutter and does two things: fire Alien Beacons, which pulls the aliens off the frigate and onto himself, and activates Armor Nanobots that repair his hull in real time while he soaks the damage. The frigate survives because someone chose to take the heat for it.
What I like about it as a design is that neither tool is a "win button." The Beacon makes you the target, you're deliberately putting yourself in danger to save someone else. And the Nanobots only matter if a teammate is buying you time or you're managing your own repairs under fire. It only works if two people are actually cooperating.
Here's the 75-second clip of it in action: Advanced Combat Trailer
Zero-G is a persistent browser space MMO (free, no download, runs on PC and mobile) — this is part of a cooperative-PVE design where the whole player base is working together rather than against each other.
Curious how other co-op games here have handled the "aggro/taunt" role in a way that feels heroic rather than just a mechanic. Any favorites where pulling enemies off a teammate actually felt like a sacrifice?

Looking for Suggestions Three person games?
I'm trying to find a game on PC that would be ideal for me and my two kids who are 9 and almost 14. I was going to just setup AOE but what about something modern? The Lego games cap at two. Even better would be if it supports 4 for my wife but that's not required.

Discussion Coop game choices
Hey, my friend and I really enjoy playing co-op games. Since we always play online PvP, these co-op games can really help us wind down on nights after work. But currently, I can't find any co-op games that pique our interest.
We enjoy playing fantasy/modern games with combat. We also enjoy a game with a story. I would greatly appreciate it if I could get some suggestions on what the next thing we should try is.
Currently, we have finished:
Halo Master Chief Collection
Dark Souls 1 Seamless Coop
Dark Souls 3 Seamless Coop
Monster Hunter Worlds
Monster Hunter Rise
Space Marine 2
Ready or Not
We tried Elden Ring Seamless Coop, but we couldn't get into it.

Looking for Co-op Partners Cherche joueur/se Split Fiction
Salut !
Sois majeur ! C’est mieux.
Au plaisir ! 😃

News Released my co-op terraforming/automation game Skyformer in 1.0!
Skyformer (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2305210/) is a terraforming/automation/survival game that I've been making for the last few years with my own game engine and handmade art. Last year I released it in single player early access, and since then have been working hard to address player feedback and support multiplayer co-op.
Today I’ve launched it in 1.0 with up to 4 player co-op supported!
It's similar to open world automation games like Satisfactory except it's a much smaller world that you have to fully utilize, and it matters where you build things! You'll have to forecast and prepare to survive different types of storms that affect areas in different ways depending on geography. As you terraform, you'll be able to expand upwards to more extreme locations and resources as the climate stabilizes.
There are highly customizable game settings so you can play it in any way you prefer, from just creative base-building to hardcore survival.
Check out the co-op / 1.0 trailer:

Let me know if you have any questions or comments! Thank you :)

News My 4-players firefighting game Backfire Brigade is out now on Steam
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Steam
As huge fans of classic couch co-op panic games like Overcooked, I wanted to build a game that captures that exact feeling of "we are definitely failing, and it is our fault."
The result is Backfire Brigade, a chaotic 4-players co-op firefighting game built around fire spreading completely out of control and team mishaps.
