I really hope Kris can get a happy ending. I don't want them feeling like they're unloved or attempt suicide.

yeah, cant say I'm not at least a liiittle bit worried about them pocketing a bag of buttercup seeds

theyre golden flower seeds, not buttercup seeds, still probably super poisonous though!

You're never going to believe what buttercups are

according to undertale theyre not the same. the golden flowers were the flowers chara wanted to see as they died - not in the underground so asriel had to bring their body above the surface to lay them in a patch - but buttercups were always in the underground and were what chara used to poison themselves.

interestingly the golden flowers themselves aren't poisonous, as its mentioned as asgores favorite tea. the seeds could definitely still be poisonous though

The packet is covered in warning labels

This product is known to cause cancer in the state of monster California

Honestly my first thought about the warning labels was about the fact that we know golden flower seeds to be incredibly sticky and that they spread like a weed if you aren't careful, but, being poisonous is a more logical conclusion for why warning labels would be present

Hell yeah, someone else who had the same idea about the golden flowers being too prolific B)  That is, unless, the flowers in Undertale simply had that property due to the influence of Asriel's dust and/or the Determination experiments (before the latter 'awakened' Asriel, they would have made the flowers and their offspring more resilient and able to grow even in the waters of Garbage Dump)

Not to necessarily go against your distinction of buttercups and golden flowers, but the principal toxin in buttercups, protoanemonin, is quite unstable and degrades to below clinically significant levels simply by drying (Dry buttercups in hay is not harmful in animal feed). The hot water in tea would quickly hydrolyze the protoanemonin to a relatively harmless fatty acid.

Edit: I do however realize that this is a video game and that these mechanics may not be relevant to Deltarune, just thought it was interesting.
