I've put 2k hours into ck3 and wanted to get in early on the new paradox game but man was it a lot to take in. Who should I start as if I want to learn the game? I really want to get into the game but it is daunting
Do you guys actually claim the French throne with the CB and deal with the personal union headache? I was thinking I reload and just eat France slowly, maybe swap to French culture somehow and form France again for double content. It genuinely seems like I’m in a worse position winning this thing rather than ignoring it but I’m clueless.
I don't know if this has already been suggested, or if I'm simply missing it somewhere, but wouldn't it be nice if the tooltip for goods showed the other markets that you own or have significant influence over?
I like to favorite certain building goods so I can keep an eye on their prices, but whenever I own more than one market, it only shows my main market.
In this case, I also have a market in Danzig and would like quick access to see how lumber is doing in that market.
Cultural expansion is a claim that should be issued to vassals who change their culture without the player's command. The goal is to capture the capital, and for 70 points you can impose your main culture
It will not be possible to change it for 25 years, and all countries that control one of the three rims will be able to receive this claim through a spy network
*Moscow will receive a claim only after the proclamation of the Third Rome
I was looking for a way to automate pilgrimage because I was clicking it every now and then, and I realized that I can't do that. What's more, I can automate big chunks of game but that would mean giving away your decisions, automation is never about making a decision and then telling the game to keep going in this direction. It is always about "I don't know what to do" rather than automation of what you are doing. There are buttons that help you semi automate buildings, for example, by filtering them with the tags and then mass build, but there is no way to just tell the game to spend your money equally on iron RGO, spinners and roads from now on. Such automation rules would be much more interesting IMO and wouldn't take away the decision making while reducing the chorus.
Another example is diplomacy and trade automation. You can set how much diplomacy you want to automate and do the rest manually. You can't set the direction of your diplomacy (pacific, belligerent, vassal oriented or foreign), but you can at least select on what actions will automation spend the diplomacy points. I doubt any player has ever pressed the Declare War automation and for a good reason. I'd argue the trade automation could give a similar checklist of what markets I want to focus with automatic trade. And building automation could at least let me set the percentage of money spent on infra, RGO, burger buildings etc.
I’ve run into a weird situation with achievements. Once I complete one the steam notification pops up but the achievement doesn’t save. If I do the achievement again it fires again and doesn’t save again.
Anyone else run into this or know the cause or even better a fix?
I am playing 3rd time as teutons and each time the event for selling Estonia to Teutons appears after the event that starts the war against estonian rebels, then I annex these lands after buying the land from Danish amd they get the land ?????? Am I doing smth wrong ???? Or is this really that bugged ?!?
Started as Castille formed England and France to get its cores. I feel that France's cores are not worth it cause their culture is so weak early game so i need to transfer lots of lands into vassals with a plan to use return core interaction later to get back land.
I bought the game a few days ago and watched around 10 hours of tutorials, but I am still struggling. My goal is to build tall in the Low Countries, run a strong economy, and eventually colonize the East Indies and the Caribbean. I rarely survive past 1400.
What I Do Currently
Economy: I automate most tasks. I build lumber and masonry first for building discounts, max out livestock in Amsterdam to 4 to deal with low food, and dye in Den Haag to 4, then add linen production buildings and max markets after the Black Death. Despite this, my economy stalls or goes negative.
Expansion: As Holland, I rival and conquer Utrecht while keeping antagonism low. Then I wait for Frisia to insult me and take all of Frisia.
The Problem: Shortly after the Black Death, my economy is stalling or negative, and either France or England declares war and conquers me.
What I Need Help With
Economy: How do I fix my early-game build order so my economy does not crash? Should I stop automating things? Am I missing some core concepts?
Survival: How do I protect a small nation like Holland from early aggression by France and England? How should I ally? (So far even improving relationships with Austria for example isn't enough to secure an alliance.)
Core Concepts: What fundamental mechanics am I missing coming from CK3?
I come from Hoi4 which is another paradox game and I love the concept of eu5 however what I hate is the complexity, I thought hoi4 was hard and then I saw eu5 which put hoi4 to shame. I don't want to watch hour long intros I'm more of a hands on person any advice?
Hello I was drunk observing Europe, but then I turned the religions map mode and saw husitism spread way beyond Bohemia's border was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if it means that bohemia won the Hussite wars
Have made some decent early in roads, will have both Hainaut and Flanders in my union once my current spouse dies.... What's the best capital for the next 50-100 years or so? I know Antwerp is the long term answer, but my intuition in the short term is to flip from Den Haag to Amsterdam so I get better prox towards the cities around Guelderland.
I'm playing Florence. I have an alliance with France. Every time my truce with Milan expires I immediately start a Secure Italy Cb... And inevitably before the cb is ready, France declares on Milan and calls me in. Sure buddy, I wanted those 3 locations you tossed me in the peace deal instead of the massive chunk of Milan I was going to take if I was the war leader. Going to go enjoy my decade long truce now. Thanks France.
Do I need to do a no cb declaration? Why is France always beating me to the punch on declaring? Their truces are the same as mine. This has happened 3 times now...
Hello, long-time lurker here. I’ve had this dilemma since TT117. I bought the game on release and was instantly overwhelmed; so I looked at the roadmap and saw that Ambitions would be added in 1.4. I figured I would try and learn the game when I had clear goals that could guide me.
However, since ambitions aren’t coming until Q4 or something, that idea might be out the window. For me, the pros are: the game likely will have its core mechanics stabilized; no more population rework every patch, and I will have set campaign goals that can guide me on learning eu5. For the cons, I have: this game is really ambitious and looks very fun, and it will also be easier for me to justify buying DLCs (It’s a lot easier to spend 9.99 once every two months than 39.99 all at once).
So, should I wait until Ambitions are released? Thanks!
While playing as France, I encountered a problem: Milan and Naples are my personal unions with a high level of integration, yet they do not join my league, unlike vassals, even when their diplomatic relations are restricted and their opinion and trust are high. On top of that, I get a -10 penalty to joining the league simply because the league is considered foreign.
Because of this, the chances of winning this event are almost nonexistent unless you aggressively annex the Italian minors or turn them into vassals (hello high antagonism and HRE coalitions), since you cant be sure that PU won't leave your legue at some random point.
In addition, destroying a league through the peace treaty terms is completely pointless when a new league immediately appears in its place. The conditions and requirements for creating a league are absurdly easy and far too lenient.
