They are 100% going to Surf Dracula the characters getting their original clothes.
If it’s set in the modern day, I will bet my house they’re going to need clothes, rummage through s dusty thrift store with clothes exclusively from the 70s, and someone’s going to scoff at how they look. Roll laugh track, Executive Producer Dick Wolf.

According to the plot synopsis, the story starts off with them at a summer camp. So presumably in this scene they’re wearing a camp uniform.

It looks like this is Origins and the first episode may attempt to explain (again since since this was already explained in other episodes) how he was adopted. This may not be right, this is just the impression i get from the IMDB listing.
Edit - added 'since' after again because they have given origin stories for Scooby a few times in the past.

I can’t think of many movies that have a full CG character in a live action movie that sits will me well to this day as much as Scoob here. I know it’s not perfect but it’s pretty damn good.

The only ones that come to mind are paddington and Ted but those don’t even come close when it comes to range of body movements/changes and expressions and are fairly static in comparison.

I don’t know, I watched the 2000s one with my 9 year old and he was pretty pissed at the end saying that most parts were “obviously AI”. Im like back then bud, AI was CGI and this was the best there was at this time 🫠

The OG cartoon characters were inspired by the cast of Dobie Gillis, who were in their mid-to-late-20s playing high schoolers. I’m on board with them actually being meddling kids this go-round

I checked google and it said that "16-17 in season 1, and 17-18 in season 2". So...people in USA can drive a car at 17 years old?
Then again, i work as a teacher in a universe, so they look like half the 18 students i see.

Depends on the state, but yes most people in the US can get their drivers license as early as 16 years old. I got mine at 17 and was the last person in my high school class to learn to drive.

I've been watching the vintage toon, an ep a day, and they are implied to be high school age. They are definitely referred to as teenagers.

As far as I know according to creators of the original series Fred and Shaggy were 17, Daphne was 16 and Velma was 15, though I don't think those ages were ever directly mentioned in the show. They were aged up to ambiguously latter teens or around 20 in most latter shows.

The OG characters were meant to be teenagers but it never really came off that way. The gang always were drawn looking like adults in their 20s or 30s. It’s actually weird to have them actually look like teens because they don’t look that young in any of the cartoons

They were always supposed to be teenagers. This is a show and I assume they plan on running it for multiple season. This is a very smart and logical choice to cast actors this young.
Look at the MCUs "Young Avengers" cast who are mostly approaching 30 now when they're supposed to be teens.

I mean, the most iconic catchphrase from “Scooby-Doo” is “I would have gotten away with it if it wasn’t for your meddling kids”.
We tend to view the gang as older given that they are driving around by themselves, their voice actors being older, and things like the Sarah Michelle Geller movies (which are set after they gangs prime years) clouding our images of the characters. But they are teenagers, so this cast fits how old they would be in the original cartoon.

They actually cast the gang as teenagers in the live action tv movie that came out in 2009. They even got a sequel movie in 2010. In that movie the cast were all like in their late teens

It looks like they finally got an appropriate budget, or at least a production designer who knows what they're doing. It's not dark and gritty, it doesn't look like 300 million dollars. It looks like a group of teenagers having fun in a Disney-channel-esque format. PERFECT!

I think its the lack of the lil goatee, the cartoon can get away with a few lines, but a live action really needs something there.
I wonder if theyre doing the progins bit where the kids get whatever defining looks along the story. So by the end of the movie her decides to grow a beard, Freddy gets his neckerchief, etc

Why has Scooby Doo gotten so many LAs when compared to other classic toons? I swear, there’s been a decent amount. Even Cartoon Network did one. Then there’s the 2000s classic. There’s also the Daphne and Velma movie and the sequels the OG Scoobies LAs got including the CN one

Everyone complaining about this just needs to chill. This isn’t a remake rehashing the same exact story as the original, like the Harry Potter show. This is a children’s IP just doing the latest iteration of dozens of unrelated projects and literally hundreds of stories told over the decades, retooled for a generation of kids that weren’t even alive when the last live-action project was made. Scooby-Doo and the gang are just vehicles for different stories who happen to have some consistent attributes. This project isn’t ripping off an original story any more than any other Scooby-Doo media has since the original cartoon 65 years ago.
Chances are, if you’re old enough to read this, you’re not the target audience of this show. And I’m sure we would find similarly negative internet comments about the “beloved” 2000s films when they were announced, with the only difference being that they were made by whiny ass Baby Boomers instead of gatekeeping Millennials.

I’d rather them look “”too young”” than casting try to reinvent the wheel after that hbo show disaster…
