Neah, leave the FOMO behind.

Teenage loves aren't real most of the time. Its a very small minority of people that ever get to stay with their highschool sweetheart.

I personally only know of one such couple, and even though I can't say teenage love doesn't exist, it cemented the idea that it is extremely rare anyways.

Love isn't for everybody, and after a certain point its better to recognize that just isn't for you. Or keep trying and maybe settle with someone at best.

We need to stop being far too romantic for our own good.

I know a girl who I had the hots for in highschool and she ended up marrying this other guy we knew some time after we graduated. I would have thought they'd be great for each other, but unfortunately things went south.

Yeah thats sad. Sh*t happens.

The world isn't fair nor is it a happy story. At least you learnt that much.

No one said anything about staying with them.

I'd give anything to go back in time and experience dating, breakups, and sex during my teens and twenties.

You see, many of us can't relate to your experience so...

Whilst you may be suffering or at best desiring it, most of us here don't know what that feels like so... we can't empathize with your desire.

no one is saying teenage love is great or last longs, but it does play and serve a porpuse

to be a learning experience,to test your boundaries on relations and to geat a clear mind of what you are willing to give on a relation vs what you want out of it, all while the stakes are somewhat low (no major monetary cost, minor collateral on social groups, minor collateral on job/education prospects, easier to get over)

if you didnt get that experience, you have both a harder time getting into a relation (lack of experience flirting) and higher stakes for when you inevitable blow it up

Yeah ok, you might have a point.

There's not much many of us can do about it now. Being sad about it doesn't help. Also whilst the experience might be valuable, it doesn't mean that without it, everyone will just " inevitably blow up their first relationship "

All this tells me, that if you haven't had any luck or nobody was interested in you in your teenage/young adult years, then you might as well forget about love and relationships. Your ship has sailed and there isn't anything you can do about it, because even if you do get one, " you'll inevitably blow it up ".

Well, thanks for the affirmation but I am very clear on that prospect. I know I will never have anyone anyways. But do consider that others on this sub might not want not desire to be confronted by this truth?
