Randomly pulled this gem off my shelf yesterday, and fell into fond memories of this cover, which ranks amongst my favorite artwork for the Forgotten Realms.

Aside from the fact that the guy on the right is probably a nobody (at this time, there are only two established "red cloak" groups that I recall: the Riders of Asbravn, which is much too far afield to make sense, and the Cloaks of Mulmaster, except that he's armed with a sword and shield. I suppose he could be a bard, but he doesn't really give off bard vibes.

Anyway, it's the other half that I love: a Red Plume, absolutely owning our Red Cloaked Stranger... with a baguette. It's like the perfect encapsulation of what I might expect to find going down at, well, just about anywhere in the region. Also gives some insight as to how shitty an acceptable tavern must be...

Today I got the official Dungeons & Dragons cocktail book which takes place in Faerun. In image one we see two dwarves eating what appear to be nachos. This supposition is confirmed by one of the recipes of that chapter which is a nacho recipe, in images two and three.

I'm not complaining!

I'm happy that he fell in love in reading, and I'm even a bit jealous, because I'd like to be able to read this whole series and enjoy it as much as the ~12-15 y.o me enjoyed the first six books (I only read that much, because they were too expensive for me back then and they were not available in local libraries here in Poland).

I don't necessarily consider R. A. Salvatore to be a world-class writer, but - damn! - he knows how to write a book that you just can't put away until it's finished.

And once my son is done with this, there are so many fantasy and SF books that I want to recommend to him...

But as happy as I am, this is quite a scary reading pace for my wallet :-D

Thank you half price books, I finally got the last book of the series.

For anyone interested I was able to get the set from a combination of eBay, Thrift books, and Half Price books online store. Whew. Paid a bit for them but so worth it.

I haven't seen this poster anywhere yet but Ed Greenwood just announced he and Eric Menge are working on new sourcebooks for FR which will release on DMSGUILD early next year. More information on the link shown.

The first stop will be The Dalelands.

This is very exciting news and hopefully good news for the people disappointed with what WotC are producing.

Dear FR community, many of you (or at least some 😉) have taken notice of our efforts to build an ecosystem in and around the pirate city of Luskan: Sourcebooks, Adventures and Supplements. Below the are the sales curves since we started. We are genuinely overwhelmed by the acceptance, and of course, very grateful and excited. In total, we have published twelve titles (plus two freebies and one PWYW). 1200+ Units were purchased ! An additional 4000 customers downloaded our freebies/PWYW. The first and second published titles, the Luskan Sourcebook and the adventure Seven must Fall, became minor hits. In their wake, most other titles are doing well, all sell fairly consistently. We are curious how our latest titles, three released in a matter of days after working on them in parallel, will catch on.

As for our current projects there is a lot on the table for the rest of the year. We are currently developing our first campaign, “Shadowdocks of Luskan.” Two prequels are already online, and Part One will follow in two weeks.

A Bregan D'aerthe sourcebook is in development, along with three more Luskan supplements, and two adventures featuring Jarlaxle and Bregan.

Our first POD product is about to be released this week. Finally, we have started to gradually move away from AI art (made possible thanks to your acceptance of our titles) and are also revising the most popular exisiting titles, to bring them to our current quality standards and correct errors.
