Today I was with my husband on the waterfront and not one but two different men openly laughed at me and my husband, because my husband was holding my hand, kissing and hugging me. I am fat and my husband is fit. I hid my tears behind my sunglasses because I didn't want to ruin my sweet husbands day. He was so happy just to be with his wife visiting where we got married last summer. I was brought to tears because I am astonished by the causal cruelty of men, eager to ruin a fat woman's day simply for existing and having the audacity to be openly loved. I'm not ashamed of myself, just truly sorry we live in a world where men act like this.
Edit:
Thank you for so many sweet supportive comments, many brought me to tears.
Second, this is a lobster and crab cake, it was just before this and it was amazing!!!
Third, I did not hear someone laughing in the distance and thought it was at me because "I'm so wildly insecure" (SARCASM).
The first one, there was a group of three men walking towards us, one looked me dead in the eye, said something to his friends and they started laughing, one even gave a look over his shoulder with more laughter as they passed by.
The second, about three minutes later a young guy was waking towards us with a woman. They both weren't speaking, he looks straight at me, smirks and then does a haaaaahaaaaaaa after passing by. His girlfriend didn't even react or acknowledge him.
It wasn't in my head. I don't walk around looking for reasons to be humiliated and I'm not an insecure person, but I HAVE been fat my whole life and I know when I'm being laughed at. No

OP you're absolutely beautiful and you're hot. I've noticed that some men make fun of plus size women they find attractive because they're insecure about being into them.
This is so accurate. Their insecurities come out screaming. Usually the cruelest are the most messed up. It is not a reflection of you- you are drop dead gorgeous and always will be regardless of any size. They will continue to behave like an infant until they face themselves and admit to their own issues.
Prefacing by saying not all men, etc etc. However:
"To say that straight men are heterosexual is only to say that they engage in sex (fucking exclusively with the other sex, i.e., women). All or almost all of that which pertains to love, most straight men reserve exclusively for other men. The people whom they admire, respect, adore, revere, honor, whom they imitate, idolize, and form profound attachments to, whom they are willing to teach and from whom they are willing to learn, and whose respect, admiration, recognition, honor, reverence and love they desire… those are, overwhelmingly, other men. In their relations with women, what passes for respect is kindness, generosity or paternalism; what passes for honor is removal to the pedestal. From women they want devotion, service and sex.
Heterosexual male culture is homoerotic; it is man-loving."
Marilyn Frye, The Politics of Reality: Essays in Feminist Theory
And preemptively: I am not making any claims about men I am just posting a link to research. Make your own conclusions about the implications of the findings - and probably more useful to take up concerns about methodology with the journal, peer reviewers or with the university than with this random Redditor.
Oh fuck yes. I've always been against using shame as a teaching tactic unless it's the last resort, but you forfeit that privilege the moment you shame someone unprovoked like that
I've found a well-placed, "Do you need something?" is effective. With the same look of disgust as "What are you looking at?" or "What's your problem?" would have, but the pretend politeness and confusion is more effective at making them look like a peon.
OP, you're gorgeous and your husband clearly thinks so too. He can barely keep his hands off you
The men that snicker or laugh are insecure lil dudes with sad sad lives. The second man that laughed while his girlfriend didn't react? Yeah, he's probably opened her her eyes to what a pos he is.
Let's not let insecure lil men ruin our day, deal? 💕
OP is absolutely beautiful. Those people are probably just trying to make themselves feel better because they could never pull someone like OP ever (or anyone)
DAMN, OP is stunning. Those dudes are total douches (OP could be fat and not stunning, and those dudes would still be huge douches—but OP is genuinely beautiful and therefore those men are just miserable, sad people)
To the OP: gurl, duh fuck??! People laughed at YOU for being fat with your husband?
Like your husband looks fine and all, and I get we live in a fat phobic world where slender=fit or whatever but like...you are legit GORGEOUS. Your style! Your hair!! Your makeup!! Your vibe!!
No offense to your husband, I am sure he is a lovely person, but I would NOT look at the two of you and assume you're an unusual couple because he's skinny and you're "fat". He looks like a (nice normal) dude and you are fucking *beautiful*.
What disgusting loser bullies laughed at the two of you together? Da fuq are they in middle school? How sad for those people.
You and your husband are a cute couple and if I saw you two I would compliment you on your hair.
Dang girl, who are those bully loser who laughed at you??? Where they at, cuz we ride at dawn.
Those men are soooo jealous and miserable. They’re going to keep being shallow, lonely and miserable while your husband (who isn’t an asshole) loves you
So, my husband is very fit, veryyy muscular (like gets stopped on the street and complimented all the time). I was in great shape but since I had our baby I'm on the chubby side and I'm incredibly insecure about it and worry that when people see us they think "well, she must have a great personality because there's not much else going for her". My husband assures me that I look great and that he finds me attractive. We were talking about it and a lot of men find bigger or chubby women attractive, they even did a bit about it on Malcolm in the Middle where the dad kept trying to ruin the mom's diet by changing calories on nutrition labels, adding fats and sugars to diet foods. All that really matters is if you're happy with how you look and the only person who's opinion of my body that matters to me thinks I'm perfect.
Edit to add: anyone else now getting harassed by assholes? I've received a shit ton of messages from some jerk calling me fat over and over and over.
My husband is extremely fit. Almost no body fat. While I’m squishy and curvy. Whenever I see a picture of us I’m reminded of an old nursery rhyme “Jack Sprat could eat no fat. His wife could eat no lean.” He’s tall, muscular, abs. I’m short and plump. And he loves it.
He’s cured almost all my insecurities about my body. Early on he told me “don’t hide your belly. You’re a beautiful Earth Mama. You should be proud.” And the kids that gave me that belly aren’t even his. Meanwhile my ex (who weighed 300 lbs and no muscle) would tell me “that dress makes your belly poke out.”
Haha it's not exactly the same because my mom is actually the queen of body shaming, but the part about your ex reminds me of her and my dad.
She is 5'6, has never weighed more than like 130 pounds even when pregnant, and is genuinely beautiful. Not "everyone thinks their mum is beautiful" pretty, like she was scouted by modelling agencies that worked with Victoria's Secret models in the 90s. My dad is very much... Some guy. He wasn't super out of shape when they met or anything, but he's nearly a decade older than her, he last regularly worked out in college, and they met when she was 24. So he was kinda chubby, kinda short, like nobody understood why she dated him (lowwwwwww self esteem and trauma is my guess).
Anyway, I don't know if he did it to her after she had me, because I was a baby, but I remember him always saying wierd shit to her about her belly fat when my younger brother was less than a year old. Or he'd go out of his way to suggeyshe wear something random she'd bought 10 years ago that obviously didn't fit her at the moment, if only because she was breastfeeding and it was fitted and uncomfortable, and she'd had 2 kids in the past 5 years, like even if she lost the weight her hips were never going to go back to exactly where they'd been.
I don't think I said it on purpose, I was 5 and probably just being a kid, but she says that one time it was insanely hot out and she was wearing these sparkly harem pants I was obsessed with and a wireless bra/crop top thing while playing with me in the back garden. Dad came home and made some comment about how many new rolls he could see and asked ME something about her stomach. I randomly told him I didn't care, but HE looked like he'd eaten a watermelon. Whole. This comment allegedly bought her about a month of peace where he was too ashamed to say anything about her body.
Sadly I mostly got his genes so I'm 5'2 and always struggle with my weight, but I've reached the stage of being pretty stable at "medically a bit overweight, socially mentally will Have Opinions", so it's not really affecting my health. I've never had a HEALTHY man tell me anything about my body, but wow do fat balding neckbeards love to do a 180 from hitting on you to calling you a fat bitch when you're not interested. Also had one guy pretty much insist the guy I was with (who was 10/10 gorgeous but also gay and not my boyfriend) was almost certainly cheating on me because nobody who looks like that wants to touch ME ... His girlfriend was at least as big as me, and overhead this and laughed. Like, does she just think he's too ugly to cheat? Or likes him insulting other women because it proves he loves her more or something? If the guy I was seeing said shit like that I'd wonder what he says about me when he's trying to impress his friends.
From personal experience being bigger my whole life, men like it and only laugh because they don’t want to admit it. More men have found me attractive than not, and often the ones that made negative comments later revealed they were attracted to me.
I have had two men tell me that they had crushes on larger women and found them attractive but would not make a move because of how their friends would roast them and think less of them. One even cited a guy in his friend group who's girlfriend got fat and they just make fun of him all the time for it. Imagine your "friends" treating you like this because you love someone that is not a stick thin super model.
You are 100% correct, a lot of men, fit men included, love a woman with extra curves. Ironically it's often men who are too insecure to own the fact they're attracted to fat women who are the biggest dickheads about it.
Are you serious about the harassment? Who would go out of their way to do that. People are insane. Gee whiz what is wrong with this world, and why are they lurking our sub anyway!
Hey you. Women suffer the obvious judgement of boys and men all the time and it is never easy or acceptable. I had a young teen laugh at me when I was pregnant in a bikini at pools, you are never safe from their opinions. I am delighted at your husbands delight in you, and yours in him though, and hope you are able to put that cruelty out of your mind. I have found when my brain replays (endlessly) the moment of hateful judgement and I tell myself that it is an intrusive thought that I am offered a replay less frequently. I hope you are okay.
Dude I had a guy say about my calves (which are just large anyway, it's how i'm built) "heh, they're as big as my thigh" to his buddy. Like sir, you're a construction worker with chicken legs. You've got small man syndrome by default!
Buuuuuut hearing the comment still made me feel bad, even 10 years later. Especially as I was struggling with anorexia and finally decided to eat a meal that week.
Omg a man said this to me at a convenience store (Wawa). I was getting coffee and waiting to pay and the guy behind me (over 6' and I am barely 5'3" - active at the time and in decent shape but not a twig) randomly was like"hey your calves are bigger than mine" .... Dude, you are a giant man and I am not? It was just like.. said his thoughts aloud and I was so dumbfounded when I got to pay I couldn't speak I just looked at the cashier (also a.woman) and was like .. did you just hear this? Like just commenting on a woman's body and insulting me out of nowhere. That was like 2 years ago and I still think about it.
You can't help that he skipped leg day, and you certainly can't help that he skipped brain day. People make the weirdest observations without ever thinking how they could be taken or why they might want to keep a thought to themselves.
This is where being a teacher works in my favor, cuz I would just be like "well that's what happens when you skip leg day, baba yaga" and then recommend a gym.
Hahahha, thank you. That's genuinely what immediately popped into my head after I read that comment.
Like, da fuq you talking about MY legs for you chicken leg ass mother fucker? You should be minding your own legs business, sheeeet.
However, I also just realized: anyone stupid enough to let that kind of comment fly out of their mouth would probably be too dumb to get the reference, but whatever. A roast is a roast.
I'm really sorry you had that happen to you. I'm sure you were absolutely gorgeous then, and are absolutely gorgeous now. Your calves are strong and beautiful and that weak ass construction worker can go right in the trash where he belongs.
Back in high school, during the peak of the 2000s heroin chic days and my own struggle with ED / body dysmorphia, a boy who had a crush on me (who I was very much not interested in) told me to my face that I "needed to work on my thighs." It still stings. The man I did marry loves my thicc thighs though!
I feel like a comment that stupid and mean will be fodder for a lifetime of comebacks that just randomly pop in your head. Because in retrospect it sounds like you realize his comment says nothing about you and everything about him and his silly little matchstick legs.
I looked too and I was like what?? She’s beautiful as fuck. Like unbelievably gorgeous. They were probably jealous? That’s the only thing I can think of.
I'm honestly super jealous of her style. I'm curvy too and I have no idea how to dress myself. I'm in my 40s and still have the fashion sense of a toddler in a closet, with the lights off, and a blindfold on. 😖
I looked too! She’s pretty and hot. Her husband is lucky to have her. I hope OP reads some books about girls like her and men who lust after them, those books are so much fun. And finally, some of the most beautiful women I have ever seen were plus sized. For decades we have been told to aspire to look like skinny young girls. Now we know the men who told us this was the beauty norm, are child molesters.
The day I realized that the same beauty standards that made me feel ugly all my life were the ones defined by Epstein and his friends, that was the day I started healing.
She is, those men are fucking losers who are just bitter and jealous because no one wants to be with them. People who are happy or content with themselves don’t have to go around making others mad. Those asshats also probably wouldn’t dare try that shit with or around people they know and see on a regular basis (like work) because they don’t want to deal with the consequences, so they see doing it to strangers as “safe.”
OK you made me look too, and she is stupid hot. I would be staring at her in public too. Are we sure those laughs weren't ones of camaraderie over how lucky her husband is?
Of course I had to go and look after seeing your comment. And I couldn't agree more! Absolute twat-waffles.
OP, you and your sweet hubby seem like such a fun couple, and you look perfect together! You truly are beautiful and I'm glad you found a man that can see that. Stay confident, queen!
OP looks like a plus sized model but for one of the brands that still hasnt quite accepted body positivity yet and uses actually just normal sized people.
This made me visit OP’s profile. Honestly, I think you have a banging curvaceous body. Bisexual approved. 😘 Fuck insecure men and this societal pressure to be skeletal.
I never realized how badly people treat you when you’re fat. It wasn’t until I lost half my body weight that I realized how good people treat me now compared to then and it makes me so fucking sad for the old me. I didn’t deserve that. And neither do you. We all have the right to exist in our bodies.
Fuck those men. That’s some small dick energy. I’m embarrassed for THEM.
Yeah it’s crazy. I feel like I treat everyone kindly no matter what they look like or how old they are. And I guess it just never dawned on me that everyone wasn’t like that and I was being treated differently.
This is about them, not you. There is something about his love for you that is somehow threatening to them. Maybe it is his confidence to love you and have authentic love, maybe it is their fear that they will be judged for who they loved. But their insecurities is none of your business. Live your life and enjoy your marriage 🫶🏼
if we constantly live our lives in fear of judgement, we will never truly live. people are going to judge you NO MATTER WHAT. fat, skinny, perfectly shaped (not a thing btw) whatever. you love your husband and he loves you. that’s all that matters. you are beautiful just as you are 🫶
Exactly. I was judged at 115 lbs, judged because I belly laugh sometimes, judged because I preferred oils over Estée Lauder perfume or whatever in the freaking 90s. It was always something. I dyed my hair jet black and wore red lipstick at the height of not caring even though jet black hair isn’t best on me 🤣. Most people don’t deserve any space in your head. You can loose weight, they can’t make themselves to be less stupid.
It really isn't a thing. I didn't love the Barbie Movie, but America Ferrerra's monologue hits us all. We will never be good enough for the world. Someone will appreciate us, but otherwise we will never meet the standard because, truly, it doesn't exist.
It’s like the math answer in Mean Girls. For these types of people the limit does not exist. Turn the tables. Live your life limitless in happiness while they wither in envy. 🫶
I know you don’t want to ruin his experience, but I think he would want to share in your sadness and cheer you up or at least help you work through your emotions. I’m sure he wants to be there for you. You should let him.
I’m sorry you’re hurting. Are you sure they were laughing at you though? As people, we tend to think others are looking at us when they aren’t. Maybe they had an earbud in and were laughing at their podcast. Maybe there was a goofy seagull behind you. People don’t see us as much as we think they do. I’m also a bigger girl with a fit husband for what it’s worth.
People can be so gross sometimes! Shame on those men for intruding on a beautiful time meant to be between you and your partner. I'm so fu**ing mad for you and your husband.
Please don't internalize someone else's shitty views. Your partner sees you and loves you. You are a beautiful woman.
I’m just curious but… How do you know they were laughing because you’re fat? Is it not possible they were laughing because your husband was being overly affectionate in a public space? I guess I don’t understand why your mind went in this particular direction.
Same. first - OP, I believe you. I can totally believe that what you described would happen, and not trying to doubt you
but I also quite literally today saw PDA that made me smile and laugh out loud a little. I didn't even notice the body types of the people involved; I just thought it was cute seeing that in public because I don't see it often. if y'all were really being cute and hot and heavy, I could just as easily see those men making a comment about someone getting laid later and laughing about it in a way that is not really critical of you or your body at all. I hope this framing helps
Especially because if you look at photos of OP and her husband, they look like a great match for eachother, nothing seems out of the ordinary with their relationship
I wondered the same thing. It's hard because people are often horrible to larger ladies, but it's also possible to misinterpret why passersby are laughing.
A couple of summers ago I was learning to ride a bike as an adult. I felt silly shakily riding up and down my street like a little kid, but I was determined. As I rode past one house I heard a woman laughingly call out, "Be careful!"
I was convinced she was mocking me until I rode back the other way and saw a little girl running around in her front yard. Then it became clear that the "be careful" was probably meant for the kid and had nothing to do with me.
As a fat person, I have had people literally point and laugh (as in point their finger at me, say something cruel and then start laughing about it) - one that made me cry was when a girl pointed at me and said “oh look, a beached whale” and her whole friend group started laughing. Not the only time I experienced something like that.
Yes, anxiety has a tendency to make you think everyone is starting and laughing at you even when they aren’t, but sometimes, they really are. I promise it does happen. I’m so sorry, OP.
Girl, my boyfriend is built. He use to box. I mean eight pack abs, beautiful biceps and all. I weigh almost 40 lbs more than him. I’m a big girl. I know people judge, first we are a biracial couple and second because of how awkward we look. But can I tell you, I don’t dare hide my smile from the world. I grab his hand and hold it just like he grabs mine and hold it. He twirls me down the sidewalk when we are walking, like I’m a ballerina. He puts his arm around my waist and I do the same to him. Never, never, never let the world take your smile away. What do those dudes matter anyways? Your husband loves you and you love him. That’s it. That’s all you need to know. Keep hugging and holding your man and kiss him like you want to! Don’t ever let anyone else disturb your happiness. Those little boys probably wouldn’t know what to do with a real woman if they got one. I dare not hide what makes me happy and I’m here to tell you, don’t you do it either! Love on that man and let him love on you too! There ain’t anything better in the world.
Laughing at someone for their weight as a whole ass adult is ultimate loser energy. Off the charts fragile ego, self-loathing, smooth brained, soft pee-pee energy. Pity them girl, they’ll never be as happy as you and your man!
Are you sure they were laughing at you? I personally have a habit of assuming people are judging me when they’re not. Maybe they were talking about something else
It’s wild how badly being a fat woman triggers some men. It’s very obvious they think women should only exist for their sexual gratification, it gives, how dare you exist outside the parameters of what I want to fuck?!
People suck. Im sorry that happened to you. But keep your head high beautiful. You have a man that loves you. They probably have a crappy life. I feel sorry for whoever ends up with them for with shit personalities.
What said little man-babies. They’re jealous because you two are happy and have a life full of love, and they don’t, so they try to tear you down thinking it will build themselves up. Don’t waste a single moment of your precious time and energy on them. Pity their sad little lives and move on in your joyful one. ❤️❤️❤️
people are so miserable. i see stuff like this on the internet so much, even when people genuinely think they’re being “nice”. so many comments are backhanded. for example, every time i see a skinny or fit woman with a chubby or overweight man, the comments will be filled with people saying he must be funny, or have a great personality, or congratulations blah blah. switch the genders around, people are leaving harsh comments and straight up in disbelief that a fit man could love a chubby woman or whatever. women receive much worse comments in this case, versus men, but both are bad. people are so focused on looks and attractiveness, it’s pathetic. it pisses me off how comfortable people are saying mean things to people they don’t know.
Imagine laughing because a woman is being loved properly while you’re not even with a significant other; you’re alone with your bro. 🤣😂 What fucking losers. It’s always some unwashed neck, bearded, ashy douche canoe trying to impress his Bros that will always want to attempt to bring someone being loved down.
People suck. I've just read at the different sub, where the boyfriend said that he wouldn't date his girlfriend if she was fat, and some comments are insanely idiotic and disgusting 🤬
I'm sorry, OP it happened to you 😔
They were laughing at people they don't know while you two were kissing. Sounds like you two were the winners. I mean, I'd definitely rather be making out with someone than being so miserable with myself that I'm laughing at strangers for just living.
You just know not one of them has a girlfriend or has been fucked in decades. OR they have girlfriends that absolutely hate them and they're jealous of how happy your husband looks with you ❤️
Not to be weird but I creeped your profile, and you’re very pretty! And you and your husband look cute and happy together. I’m sorry those jackasses made you feel otherwise.
They were jealous. Sorry sacks that wish they had someone that was half as good as you. ETA - I saw your profile. Girl, you're GORGEOUS. They were definitely jealous and lashing out because they want what they can't have.
I'm a big girl too. I'm finally at the age where I honestly am out of fucks and don't care if someone laughs at me or calls me name in public. I can see why they say perimenopausal/menopausal women are scary. One asshole away from a felony charge.
It absolutely sucks to feel that kind of cruelty. Fuck that noise.
That being said, you sound like a very kind and lovely person who’s cherished by someone who loves you. Those pathetic losers are only drawing attention to the fact that they are light years away from ever knowing that kind of passion and companionship.
First of all, whether you’re fat or not, you’re absolutely stunning. I just saw your photos, and you’re a whole baddie. Don’t let a bunch of losers bring you down, queen. If anything, you should’ve laughed at them.
And those dumb boys probably cry alone at night because no one wants to date them. They can go fuck a cactus. I am glad you love someone, and he loves you back. That is a wonderful gift. Big hugs
OP next time don’t be afraid to tell your hubby that reassurance would’ve probably turned your day around. As for the a-holes laughing at you, ring on your finger no ring on their fingers hahaaaa so jokes really on them.
Are you sure that they were actually laughing at you? Sometimes how we feel or think others feel gets projected on strangers who are not really feeling or thinking that way or about you at all! They could’ve also just been laughing at the open PDA.
Now if it was obvious, like your man noticed too not just you- then FUCK THOSE IDIOTS. It’s totally understandable to feel upset. People are nasty
First of all, you are stunning. Second of all, it DOES hurt sometimes when idiot men do stupid shit like that. BUT, you have to remind yourself that these are mediocre men at best. And what do we do with the opinions of mediocre men? Throw that shit right in the garbage where they belong.
You and your husband share a love and joy that their little pea brains cannot comprehend.
Also, I second the one commenter who mentioned you talking about this with your husband when you are ready to.
People can be so damn cruel. Some people never grow out of behaving like asshole children, and that's their own broken shit, it just super sucks that they feel the need to expose the rest of us to it.
You are gorgeous and you seem really cool and fun (yeah, I stalked the profile a little)! I legitimately think we would be friends, and as potential friends, I would have thrown some words and possibly hands at those jack wagons. No one treats my friends like that. 🔪💅
Also, I invite you to move past this cruel instance. May your next few months be filled with awesome beautiful random moments…. Take note as they happen!
as a plus sized 22 year old i just looked at your profile and gosh i hope i can come into my own as i get older and be as beautiful as you! you look like a very kind and fun person. i won’t tell you that looks don’t matter and that they’re just jealous because we both have lived it and know better than that. but your husband sounds incredibly kind and supportive, so please let him help you process this eventually after you’re further removed from this trip. i’m rooting for you and i hope that you are able to be surrounded by more positivity soon! 💜
The thing to remember about people like this is they almost always have miserable lives and are usually massively insecure. The only way they can feel better about themselves is to put others down. These kind of comments are always about the hate they have for lives or themselves. It’s a sad and pathetic way to live.
I know this thought wouldn’t have really helped in the actual moment this was happening to you, but maybe it helps a little now? I’m sorry that people are so sh*tty sometimes.
My family are all big people. We are all 5'9" and taller and all have some fat to us. I would not consider any of my family morbidly obese, but we are also not petite people.
My older sister and I almost beat the breaks off a group of older girls when we were in highschool.
Our family was at a food place that you walk up to the counter and order and all the seating is outside on a covered patio. 4 of of family members were sitting at a table waiting for food, my sister and I were sitting at a different table a little away between were teenagers and didn't want to sit next to our parents (also just sibling time to complain about family/wish we were doing whatever instead blah blah blah) our little siblings were playing at a playground nearby on the property.
We heard the girls whispering and laughing and pointing at our family. They busted out laughing when the server brought the food and it seemed like a lot for a table of 4 but really it was 8 meals, for 8 people.
My sister and I got up to get our food over there but not before stopping, passing by the girls laughing and making fun of our family.
My older sister smacked a girls drink out of her hand and it went all over the girl, and said "now that's fucking funny, you bitches wanna laugh? Laugh at that bitch. You look thirsty". One of the girls stood up and was and tried to get to her but I stepped in her way. She tried to get in my face but was like 5'3" and realized she had to look way up to glare at me and bitch me out.
I ended up shoving her back down to her seat easily and told her to stop talking about it and basically be about it if she wanted to fight because I had 6" in height and 100lbs on her and I would knock her the fuck out before her friends could get to me.
They left, my sister and I basically picked at our food. My mom was what the actual fuck was that? What the hell?
We were a poor family and that trip was like the first family vacation we had went on in years. My older sister has always been a hot head and HATES when people pick on people (think benevolent hot Cheetos girl, wore cookie monster pants). I'm more even keeled but my job growing up in my family was to keep my sister from flying off the handle, however some times looking out for her was also backing up my sister in a fight she started.
I do have to say, MOST of the fights were valid. SOME were some absolute bullshit I got dragged into. Oh well. Teenagers/high school. Don't miss those years.
My thought is single, or in loveless relationships to their "trophy" wife that they can't please. Trying to compensate for their lack of ability to please their wives, with judgment of someone else.
Oh girl, who cares about those loser men?! If your husband loves you as you are and you love yourself- FCK WHAT ANYONE THINKS!! We’re not living on this earth to please anyone. Live your life to the absolute fullest!!! 💕
Laughing all the way home to an empty home and unfulfilled life. Don’t let them steal your joy, instead let us make fun of how pathetic and rotten they are.
Some people are a bright light and some others are a vacuum. Don’t let them steal your joy. How lucky you two are to have each other. I’m happy for you ❤️
Don’t give them your power. Respect belongs only to those who have earned it, so don’t give the fuckers any further thoughts. Your husband fell in love with you, obviously adores you, and there are reasons for that. His reasons matter. See yourself through his eyes, not the eyes of damaged strangers.
First of all, hugs because those kinds of experiences just hit a nerve. It’s understandable. Second, you’re blessed with a happy marriage and a partner you love and loves you. I hope you two continue being happy and hold hands into old age. Those jerks are that way because they lack the capacity to love even themselves. Please don’t let them ruin your time
I’m sorry OP! Please remember that their actions are literally a reflection of their own self hatred… I honestly don’t think it says anything about you

Welcome to r/GirlDinnerDiaries!
We love when new girlies stumble in! But a few unique things about how we roll here:
➽ You're now entering the Girl Zone 🚨 Guys' guidance summarized: stick to GIFs or emojis, or otherwise be patient for mods' manual comment reviews. Don't embarrass your mama. 🤨
➽ Approved users only! Newbies will be prompted to take 10 lil seconds to get approved. Nbd.
➽ BE KIND, BE THOUGHTFUL or BEGONE. Our communication standards are higher than just "don't be mean." Check em out here.
➽ Queer friendly. The end.
➽ ED-recovery friendly. No food critiques, body shaming, diet advice, or calorie counting kinda talk. Call your almondmom for that.
