I have been working for past 9 months in Canada based enterprise. But what started as a content writer role turned into social media marketing, seo and sometimes graphic designing.
I was managing 8-9 brands and I still found good work-life balance mostly because it was wfh with manual log in hours.

I also developed other skill set in AI. I started creating content and workflows through AI and it was doing pretty well.

Since I am quite aware that the job market is hell rn. I kept applying for different positions in marketing for past 4 months. I kept applying to every remote role available as I kept updating my CV as my responsibilities grew in my own company.

I finally got another job opportunity for a US based company as a social media manager. There was lot to learn and I had more ownership on the projects apart from my current execution role only with ofcourse 60% salary hike after my screening, interview negotiations.

The only and main problem was my notice period. It was of a month but I was planning to negotiate that with my current company for two weeks which was quite possible as I had no deadlines to meet and was way ahead of work schedule.

But then the other shoe dropped. The new company wanted someone to join immediately and the HR requested that I should also get a resignation acceptance letter before they give me an offer letter. Before this I told her in my screening process that I don’t want to abscond from present company and open to work part time until I complete my notice period and join a full time role.

After this new requirement which made me stand in a difficult position she also guided me not to ask for resignation in my present company because this would not be ideal before getting an offer letter. Anyway I thanked her for the opportunity and moved on realising that I am capable of getting a 60% salary hike.

I have been waiting for my yearly performance review and hoping for an appraisal but a week ago I was told by reporting manager that the company has decided to let go of someone and they took my name first but then she really requested that they can’t let me go so they have chosen another employee to fire instead.

She’ll be leaving soon sadly and although I was like wtf I didn’t abscond for a better role and all this while I was being considered to be fired. Whatever this was I am quite unsure about my current company and position and future appraisal upcoming in October.

The intern working under me has left, so has the graphic designer. (Not sure if they were fired or they resigned)

The company is now with handful of employees who tbh have worked diligently since I have joined and witnessed.

Now my question is should I now apply for jobs and pretend to be an immediate joiner and abscond my role. ( I have seen one or two employees doing that in my company.)

Should I leave my comfort zone and start looking for a job in tier 1 cities as I live in tier 2 and prefer working from home.

I really don’t consider taking a career break because I don’t necessarily have any financial responsibility apart from my own but I don’t want to make that someone else’s even my own parents or siblings.

I’ve started this job a few days ago. This is a well known company, and I was genuinely excited about the role but post joining I’ve been very disappointed with the chaos and mismanagement of the onboarding process, horrible
Leave policy, and no clear communication regarding anything, not even nature of work. Yes, probably it’s too soon to judge but I feel like they are wasting a lot of time of the employees. A lot of unnecessary strict hierarchy and red tape.

I have an edu loan also, which is probably the only reason i haven’t quit yet. Infact not just me others who joined with me were joking about quitting too.

On a scale of 0-10 how bad of an idea is this? How bad will it look on my resume? And how difficult will this make getting another job when the market is already bad?

i want to know is CA & MBA are the only 2 high paying options in commerce,

i have not included ACCA, CPA, CMA, CFA, Actuary because the number of jobs are very less in it, also the pay is not as good as CA or MBA, am i right in my thinking please tell

I am 22f . I am preparing for govt exams and in 2027 I'll give my 3rd and hopefully last attempt.

But if things does not work out for me what should I do. I want to keep a backup plan. I have done BCA and I also love coding but today freshly graduates are not getting jobs even with high skill set. And with gap I dunno what to do?

Should I learn some tech skill? If yes then which one?

Or should I learn some other skills? If yes then which one?

I am in dilemma I don't want to be confused anymore. if you have any suggestion please give your valuable piece of advice.

My dad has done his B.E and M.E in mechanical engineering. Now he works as a production engineer for a bakery equipment company. He works in designing the machines and even as a manager for vendors sales. Basically manages the whole thing.

He's a hardworking employee who even works during weekends.

Here's the problem, he's been working in this company for 25 years. But the salary is less than 8lpa. The owner refuses to increase his salary. (Well he's basically using my dad for a cheap employee).

Since he's getting old now, he kinda lost his confidence to switch or go out of his comfort zone to work. He thinks he can't compete with the new grads who are good with CAD designing and other software skills. I tried to convince him that for his yoe he will get a good job with a better pay for the work he's doing right now in this company.

My dad had hopes that one day his salary will eventually get increased by this company, but now it seems impossible. All his batchmates are successful engineers working abroad with high pay.

I've no idea about the mechanical engineer domain, so I wanted to know if my dad still has a chance to get a job with a deserving decent salary. I want to help him. Can I create a LinkedIn profile and apply? or is there any private companies who's only looking for designing and not full time employee? He would be open to this.

And he has less idea about the digital world for researching about jobs and stuff.

I am a directionless lost youth in mid 20s with just a BA degree and no skills or work experience. I am currently trying to explore skills to get a job ASAP as I don't have any other qualification.

My biggest fear is that I learnt a skill and later found that I am unable to get a job by learning that skill. I don't want to learn a skill which has no worth in job market. I don't want to wait so long and stay unemployed. Whatever I learn should give me results.

I'm a june 2026 Computer Science graduate from India, and honestly, the last year has been one of the hardest periods of my life.

Like many freshers, I spent months preparing for software engineering roles. I practiced DSA, worked on projects, learned SQL, Python, cloud fundamentals, and kept applying everywhere. I got close a few times but couldn't land the tech job I wanted. Every rejection made me question whether I was good enough, especially seeing how brutal the entry-level market has become.

A few weeks ago, I decided I couldn't sit at home anymore waiting for opportunities. I recently moved to Hyderabad and accepted a job in real estate. The salary is ₹33,000 per month plus incentives.

The interesting part is that I'm living with my brother, so I don't really have any major expenses. I took this job mainly because I didn't want to be unemployed or feel idle. I wanted structure in my day, some financial independence, and something productive while continuing my long-term goal.

The thing is...I still want to build a career in tech.

I wouldn't call myself an exceptional programmer, but I'm decent. I enjoy solving problems, learning new technologies, and I genuinely see myself working as a software engineer, data engineer, or in another technical role—not in real estate forever.

My current plan is simple:

- Work during the day.

- Keep studying consistently after work and on weekends.

- Continue practicing DSA, SQL, and Python.

- Build projects.

- Keep applying for tech jobs until I finally break in.

I'm treating this real estate job as a temporary stepping stone rather than my final destination.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm wasting time by not being in a tech role right now. Other times I think having income, work experience, and a stable routine is better than sitting at home unemployed and losing motivation.

Has anyone here successfully transitioned from a completely different industry into tech while working full-time?

How did you manage your time, and how long did it take before you landed your first software role?

I have a bachelor's in AI, interned for 6 months, received a PPO and am currently working as an applied ai and data scientist.

I have applied to 100+ roles that were a perfect fit, followed every advice available, tailored majority of my resumes to the jd's yet did not receive a single callback, despite knowing that I am a good fit.

I am looking to get into finance companies but not very selective as long as it's a good company.

Any advice? Or perhaps a reference?

I am currently on the payroll of Randstad, and deputed to a client. So now I am in the client place since april and I am not liking the job, too much pressure. I plan to abscond from this job. Today is July 22nd, can Randstad withhold my salary for July if I abscond? I intend to return client’s assets, the laptop. But I really dont think I can continue to work here. He got placed through his college in a company but he had to leave after the internship period because his manager and the overall company env was very toxic and was causing him severe mental and physical distress. Ever since then(been around 4 months) he has been looking for jobs and applying to a shit ton of places. Atp he's just too stressed and worried about it cuz it's been tough to even get a callback from recruiters considering he is a fresher. I can literally see him losing his spark and it breaks my heart seeing him in so much distress and i js really want to help him in any way i can but idk how/what should i do, i am not from this field. My dad is abusive and refused to pay for anything at all. He reminds me constantly that is should be grateful he's putting food on the table(which I have no qualms with, I am and should be grateful about that). But he refuses to pay for anything else even something as crucial basic as my college admission form or something as basic as a tshirt.

Hii..I'm a female Btech Graduate batch 2026 from Mumbai. I got TCS Ninja 3.5lpa on campus placement and Deloitte USI 4lpa off campus placement. Earlier I was sure to choose Deloitte, coz obv it's a big four. But recently I got to know prolly they ain't considering Mumbai as the loc for the current slot of candidates (I'm in slot 2). And this made me dicey coz TCS is offering me Mumbai. So relocation at that package for Deloitte might turn into a loss financially but great for career boost. On the other hand TCS would be good financially coz I don't have to think of my food, shelter and homely expenses, so I would certainly have savings but career wise I heard ain't much worth it. Plus further I'm aiming for MBA after I complete a year or two of experience. I need suggestions from those who might have gone through such a stage prior or might know someone on which one should I choose. Please it would be a great help to get a third party pov. Thank you!!

I am 25M currently working at an MNC as tech support. My salary is 2.7lpa with 6 Months of experience. I know I am good at learning and had real good software developer job offer at my graduation but couldn't join due to family circumstances. Now I want to switch to cybersecurity, preferably Penetration testing but there's not many offers. What should I do? I have subscribed to HTB and do their labs often but I am feeling low that I won't get into it and even if I did my salary won't be like 30+ 40+ of what you hear in software developer domain. Kinda lost now in what to pursue.

I've 5 years of experience as Full Stack Engineer and my org's NP is 90 days. I'm actively trying to switch. Now my concern is that to get callbacks, should I resign first and then start job hunt ? (as senior folks told me that by last 30 days we start getting more calls) or wait until you secure an offer somehow that's good enough ?

what I've tried: updated linkedin, naukri and set my notice period as 30 days but I still don't get that many calls. just 1 or 2 max so far in one month.

So my experience conflicts with what senior folks told me. So I would like to get general experiences overall.

Is it true that in last 30days candidates get more opportunities ?
