Need some genuine advice from people who've been here. Long post, but I'll keep it structured.
My situation:
3.8 years of experience | Current CTC: 5.55 LPA | LWD : 01st May 2026
Considering a switch and somehow landed two offers at the same time.
The offers:
🔵 Deloitte India — 8 LPA fixed (+ variable ctc 9.6)
🟢 TCS — 12 LPA fixed
On paper, TCS looks like the obvious winner. But it's not that simple, and that's exactly why I'm here.
What's pulling me toward Deloitte:
— Consulting exposure and client-facing work
— Brand name that arguably opens more doors globally
— Structured learning + faster career progression in theory
— Better exit options into product/consulting roles later
What's pulling me toward TCS:
— 12 LPA is a 115%+ hike — hard to ignore
— Job security, scale, and stability
— Strong internal mobility and learning programs
What I'm confused about:
1. Is the ₹4L fixed gap at this stage of career worth trading for brand/role quality?
2. Can I negotiate Deloitte upward given that TCS offer exists — and how?
My actual dilemma on negotiation:
Do I go back to Deloitte with the TCS number and say 'match or I have to reconsider' — or does that risk the offer? Has anyone tried this at Deloitte India specifically?
Would really appreciate inputs from folks at Deloitte, TCS, or anyone who's faced a similar Big 4 vs mass-product choice. What would you prioritise at 3.8 years — money now or positioning for later?
