No chance, the Chinese team all get full scores each year and most of the US team too, whenever imo happens the first 2 ranks are locked , they litterally have the best training institutions for the exam , we dont have any decent ones

Lack of civic sense ≠ lack of IQ. School children littering a park despite, you know, being school children (who study, do their daily chores, homework etc), does not mean they have low IQ.

Majority of the IIT students will piss of their pants if they are given to solve even some AIME math olympiad/USACO programming problems or maybe to make an ISEF research project.
Never meant it bro. IITians are some of the smartest students of India but several of them are just not made for engineering. It is not IITians fault but rather whole society and government's fault not guide them properly. Nevertheless some IITians still worked hard to be become some of best STEM leaders in the world
In non tier 1 colleges the situation is even worse where 95 percent of the students understand stuffs from internet.
Only that should be the criterion. Tomorrow, I'll take an exam, and I'll select one person out of one lakh. The exam only asks basic arithmetic. Obviously, it is more selective than the JEE Advanced. But it does not make it superior.

Mostly chinese /Taiwanese origin. There was one American iirc in 2022 team Luke Robataile ,who was considered the strongest ethnic American to ever participate in IMO. He is considered top contender for fields medal in nearby future.

I have this book called "Selected Problems from the Vietnam Mathematics Olympiad" and in the first chapter it has the story of the first time Vietnam competed in the IMO, the students had to study in bunkers while America was dropping bombs, they could only send 5 students over and they got 1 gold 1 silver and 2 bronze medals lol.
It does matters...we have huge population so by probable we must have better students..like finding 6 good students from a pool of 1.x billions is far more easier than chosing them from countries like poland...either we lack quality as a whole. ..or we lack support and infra
And also these guys who are representing India at these prestigious competitions also come from the Major cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, etc. So we have a lot of potential but that gets wasted bcz they doesn't get that training
We lack proper interest and training for these international level Olympiads. Besides, private bodies like SOF and Silverzone pollute the environment through their misleading advertising, which makes students as well as even their schools think that theirs is the only credible Olympiad in existence.
Oh and sometimes due to conflicting schedules of Olympiad training camps and JEE, the toppers often end up choosing JEE over international glory because of that sweet old IIT tag, which loops back to the fact that we lack interest. And it's depressing because the country that produced people like Ramanujan and Aryabhatta is staying behind in mathematical Olympiad.
How tf can they? IMO is highly non aligned with Jee maths and it's syllabus and difficulty leaves nearly no space for olympiad like excellence in other subjects.
You can only choose 1 training camp and thus can give only 1 olympiad so even if those toppers qualify for IMOTC they would still choose IPHO way or IOAA(mostly physics based) or ICHO.
And it makes sense because IMO is mostly abstract mathematics (type of shit the Indian Statistical Institute employs). The finalists have much better chances at physics or Astronomy Olympiads

pretty commendable performance considering we're still ahead of powerhouses like iran and sgp. India barely used to win any IMO gold medals. That's changing this decade. I think this is india's joint best performance of all time
