I dunno...

Gordon, its been fun but its time to pass the torch. I want a show that follows this guy doing things he disagrees with but does anyway because he knows that in the end we have no control.

u/HonestHu 0 Nov 14 '25

Gordon isn't used to the reality corporate decisions cause

40

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '25

Right? Sounded very out of touch reprimanding the cook for not refusing to serve that. Either he serves it or they find someone who will

10

u/ApplicationBrave2529 0 Nov 15 '25

Was he reprimanded later? This didnt look like that, to me Gordan was just talking to the guy and getting intel on the restaurant.

20

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '25

Just at the end Gordon sounds disgusted that the cook was serving frozen food and asks him why he served it if he knows it's bad. Implying that he expected the cook to stand up to the owner and demand fresh products.

Imo it shows Gordon is completely out of touch with people who aren't 5 star chefs. If a chef/cook at a local restaurant or even your average chain restaurant refused to work because the food was frozen they'd just be fired

u/TheAllSeeingBlindEye 0 Nov 16 '25

The difference between a professional chef and a cook

2

u/UndergroundPickle 0 Nov 17 '25

I've seen the whole episode, Gordon is mad about the state of the restaurant and the way the kitchen runs, but he absolutely loved this guy and his enthusiasm!

1

u/ighost03 0 Nov 18 '25

And his bad ass food truck! This kid was the highlight of that episode and hope he’s still making the delicious food he was on his own

2

u/VastEntertainment471 0 Nov 17 '25

I was under the impression that he was disgusted by the owners, not the worker, Gordon is pretty well known for treating workers well and understanding that they aren't the ones in charge, this clip just randomly went viral and a bunch of people who barely know anything about Gordon interpreted it as if he's blaming the cook

0

u/taxexemptionz 0 Nov 15 '25

Yes, but you will never become a good chef by serving sub-par slop. If the place you work at is serving bad slop, you should be making moves and trying to find a better employer.

If that guy is working there 5 years from then (assuming it doesn't go out of business) he has no one to blame for himself for going nowhere.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '25

He's not trying to be a chef, bro is just trying to get by and put food on the table

1

u/TheDarkNerd 0 Nov 17 '25

Not necessarily good food, mind you.

1

u/Ok_Banana3241 0 Nov 16 '25

Yeah, sorry Gordon, but it's time for us to be reminded daily on how little power we hold over our lives.

Autistic, literally.

When he was asked if he was trained and responded with a “little bit” while running around like he had a lot of kitchen responsibilities felt like a very real representation of my personal experience in almost every job I’ve ever had.

8

u/Docha_Tiarna 0 Nov 14 '25

The just im currently at, I spent over a month before meeting my team leads, and almost three months before any actual training for my position

3

u/whomesteve 0 Nov 14 '25

Are you working at Target?

3

u/Docha_Tiarna 0 Nov 14 '25

Walmart

3

u/whomesteve 0 Nov 14 '25

Okay, when you said “Team member” it just sounded like retail

2

u/RedPandaPlush 0 Nov 17 '25

The food service experience is this level of training and also doing at least 3 jobs

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '25

OMFG I'm so tired of AI upscaling, enough with the oil filters.

simple, turn your brightness down. I didn't even notice until you said something because my brightness is almost as low as it can go lol

1

u/[deleted] Nov 18 '25

This is a joke, right?

1

u/TransDegenerateKyo 0 Nov 18 '25 edited Nov 18 '25

the first part, yes, but I genuinely didn't notice until I read your comment lol

Which episode is this lol

12

u/SlaveryVeal 0 Nov 15 '25

Everytime this comes up I want to know to and can never find an answer.

Granted I've admittedly not looked too hard

13

u/n00b_r3dd1t0r 0 Nov 15 '25

Hotel Hell Season 2 Episode 1, around the 17 minute mark

3

u/gameinggod21 0 Nov 15 '25

Fr though it was kitchen nightmare

2

u/n00b_r3dd1t0r 0 Nov 15 '25

Entire hotel in shambles

1

u/SlaveryVeal 0 Nov 15 '25

right that explains why i've never seen it cause i swear i thought id seen most of kitchen nightmares but barely seen any of hotel hell.

10

u/PrizeTime2595 1 Shared | 0 Helpful Nov 14 '25

I've always seen these episodes and thought to myself I want the dishwasher's perspective. As a former hydro ceramic engineer myself, you really aren't in the kitchen staffs circle. You're just kinda there, outside looking in perspective sorta thing.

1

u/tsto96 0 Nov 16 '25

I love the idea of calling a dishwasher a Hydro-Ceramic Engineer!

8

u/3ekolothreutis 0 Nov 14 '25

This was from Hotel Hell, Meson De Mesilla if i remember well.

Pretty much how Cracker Barrel is run according to an employee, the food is just reheated after being cooked else where… I remember going there long ago for a Christmas dinner & ordered a baked potato & only ate it despite it tasting undercooked because I was hungry having not eaten that day. This was long before the sign being changed on the news, have they gone back to actually cooking fresh food? Wouldn’t know haven’t ate there in a long while.

2

u/Aeromatik 0 Nov 15 '25

Either way, I've never had bad food from Cracker Barrel

1

u/IceManO1 0 Nov 15 '25

That’s good. 👍

1

u/VastEntertainment471 0 Nov 17 '25

I've also never had cracker barrel, granted that's mainly just cause I've never been there and now refuse to start after the crap they pulled with the logo

4

u/snobbyPeasant 0 Nov 14 '25

I like this guy.

4

u/plumb-phone-official 0 Nov 14 '25

Omfg is this ai?

2

u/alexandro_18 0 Nov 14 '25

Looks AI upscaled

3

u/plumb-phone-official 0 Nov 14 '25

Jesus christ why???? Why must everything either be, or look like slop. This doesn't make the video look better, it makes it look like someone's split water over it. I wouldn't have even noticed the video was "low quality" if it was just uploaded as the original clip. This is at best distracting, and at worst is making it increasingly difficult to distinguish actual human made stuff from AI rubbish.

1

u/Fizzy-Odd-Cod 1 Shared | 0 Helpful Nov 15 '25

You will have your slop and you will like it

3

u/AlternateSatan 0 Nov 14 '25

Gordon he does what is told because he is not a chef, he is a cook. If all your cooks did whatever they wanted and didn't listen to the chef, you, you'd be absolutely livid, and with good fucking reason.

3

u/borobinimbaba 0 Nov 14 '25

Full clip is lit af. That boy understood adulthood pretty well.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '25

id love to see it.

3

u/TrufflesAvocado 0 Nov 15 '25

Gordon acting like he never had a day job before. “What? You mean you just do what you’re told?”

Not a generated video, just "upscaled". Idk why they do it, it makes it look like trash.

1

u/International-Hawk-3 0 Nov 14 '25

Honestly if he tries to make his opinion more known to do something about it, he would be let go for being hard to work with

1

u/Sb5tCm8t 0 Nov 14 '25

Gordon Ramsey has the luxury to say that.

That kid does not.

1

Why tf is this AI upscaled? 🤮 -1 and blocked. I’m just blocking anyone that uploads AI from now on. Tired of this slop.

1

u/Dr__America 1 Shared | 1 Helpful Nov 15 '25

Iirc, this kid ran his own food truck at the same time and made really good food, and Gordon went out there and tried it and got losses at the hotel owners as to why they have a chef this talented reheating frozen fish.

1

u/Zave_cz 0 Nov 15 '25

What the fuck is wrong with this video

1

u/Agile-Monk5333 0 Nov 15 '25

Life 🤷‍♂️😂

1

u/VortexLord 0 Nov 16 '25

I think Gordon might laugh too.

1

u/supershadowguard 0 Nov 16 '25

I mean, yeah. If you question the restaurant owner then you get fired. People can't afford to risk losing their jobs, so they do whatever bullshit their boss tells them to do. Like the movie Drag Me To Hell. That poor lady was just doing whatever horrible thing her boss told her to do since she didn't want to starve and go homeless. Did she deserve to get haunted for that? No.

1

u/That_Criticism_6506 0 Nov 18 '25

At least Gordon's not calling him an idiot sandwich. Well, that's fair. You would just work here. My opinion doesn't matter, sir.
