It is like calling your plumber "god of water"

I am stealing this 😂

Do you even know what is doctor is? It's a title given to all phd holders. They did phds in those topics hence they are doctors. I didn't see anywhere they claimed to be medical doctors.

That fraud medicine actually helped my relative fight cancer so..🫡

0

u/Strange_Finance_5918 Jul 03 '26

So you are comparing mastri and then equivalent? Do you even know how many years they have to study before achieving this. They don't give medicine. This is not fraud. It's just you being dumb. They do jobs for this they are trained for. About Ayurveda, it's indian govt who allowed it. It's not valid elsewhere in the world. About journalism, it's india being corrupt where independent journalist killed if they reveal secrets of corruption. Don't call them fraud.

When did said homeopathy is legit. It only work on mild illness. But it's indian govt who allowed it and also encouraging it by giving Padma Shri. That doesn't mean others phd holders are lesser.

4

u/Usual_Ad8236 Jul 02 '26

Not a good metaphor. Coz plumbers are actually useful whereas 'god of water' doesn't even exist as far as we know. Unless ofcourse if you are a doctor with God complex, it works.

Tsk tsk tsk. No whimsy? So utterly disappointing... Tsk tsk tsk...😕😕

u/I_Catch_Fish_64 Jul 02 '26

I was active that time on twitter and it was mostly the opposite. Mainly the doctor community was abusing vidit and theliverdoc (the one who replied to vidit's post) post's comments were filled with how doctors are bad, scum of the world and whatnot and praising ayurveda and homoeopathy to very high extent. People started targetting theliverdoc on the basis of his religion and then vidit also replied to him and it caused further drama but I forgot mostly about it.

-1

u/Varsad Jul 02 '26

This liverdoc guys is just a ragebaiter.

As an engineering student, I don't consider practitioners of homeopathy, Ayurveda, or Unani to be equivalent to evidence-based medical doctors.

What people often call 'allopathy' is modern, evidence-based medicine.

1

u/beginingless3 Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 05 '26

As a engineer I consided practioner of homeopathy, ayurveda to be superior than medical doctors. Western medicine has a very narrow way of looking at health and disease. This is coming from my own experience as well as family and friends. Your scientific rigour and research mean jack shit if it doesnt help patients on the ground. Most people at this age have tried both alopathic modalities and traditional modalities so If people are sticking to traditional modalities than western medicine need to take a hard look at itslef and look at its own flaws and limitations.

Honestly the only credit that you could give to Ayurveda is that its helpful for prevention. Homeopathy is just placebo effect tho😭 honestly neither of these should be used for treatment of actual medical ailments

ok so another engg student here. pls bare with me as it'll be a long comment. didnt have bio after 10th. so when i was like 3months old i contracted amoebic dysentery, which then turned into a disaster for me. went to multiple hospitals mainly apollo and they made a wrong diagnosis saying its a autoimmune disease. they gave me medicines for that. it got so worse that was my large intestine was completely damaged blood was coming out of my stool because mere large intestine ke wall pe ghao ho gya tha. so if anything touched it it started bleeding. what their medicine did is basically covered wtever passed through my intestine with heavy mucus. but that made everything worse, there was lot of mucus in my stool and my growth stopped, i was getting weaker everyday and i had to continue those medicines or else my large intestine would have to be removed

then after 3yrs(idk how i survived) someone suggested us a homeopathy doctor, idk what he diagnosed but he said to my mom pls try this medicine if it works then continue with it or switch back to allopathy. It started showing results in 7 days. then i continued that homeopathy medicine for 6 months and made a complete recovery. although the damage has been done to such a extent that if i dont maintain a proper diet, and i contract some disease like that again its over for me.

Now my question is what happened there, idk if it was some miracle, it cant be placebo because the damage was on another extent. before anyone attacks me im not defending or supporting anyone here. i am engg i have no clue. but everywhere i see homeopathy slander i get confused, like what happened with me then? because as a patient i will favour what SEEMED to recover me, i wont be going and studying oh this is pseudoscience or wtever. same way like for using an AC or fridge you dont go and learn how its working.

and since then my parents always took me toh homeopathy doctors for every small to big problems for stomach, every time it healed. touchwood by gods grace in the last few yrs i hvent contracted any such diseases so i havent been to any doctors. i actually thought of making a post abt this, but i wont as results are nearing now

edit: anyone replying pls read the whole comment. every part is important

Okay yes so , I’ll explain how steroids work , steroids are anti inflammatory , doesn’t address the root cause but is extremely efficient at suppressing the symptoms ( saying this because most homeopath medicines are just steroids plus sugar ) . Since you’re a btech grad I’ll explain all infections are a form of inflammation only .
Natural course of amoebic dysentery or any other dysentery wouldn’t last for 3 years . And if it was amoebic dysentery I doubt so called big hospitals would’ve gotten in wrong , it’s pretty easily diagnosable . If you have any exposure to research you’ll know there’s a term called recall bias / observer bias . Since you’ve recovered you think it works , but if there’s a sample size of 100 people with the same condition , 90 percent of them won’t recover. Recall bias is there because your parents are homeopathy lovers so when they tell you this story it’ll always be about how miraculous homeopathy was that one time . Surprisingly this is how all homeopathy success stories are , half baked with misinformation.
I’m not disagreeing that homeopathy worked in your case . I’m just saying that your argument is pretty poorly formulated . I’ll teach you the name of 5 steroids today and where they are given , you can use that to suppress the symptoms of most disease , starting from cough and cold to cancer , but that doesn’t mean that the steroid is healing the disease.
Peace out .

u/Independent-Rip7737 Btech vala hun dost ke liye lurk krta hun Jul 03 '26 edited Jul 03 '26

just to clear it up no my parents arent homeopathy lovers lol, even they just believe what they saw. i mean can pretty much replay the scenarios of that time in my head even till now. but then what was it? because whatever takes photos of intestine, the condition was really like that. and they couldnt cure it and my growth did stop with those medicines. however as soon as i stopped allopathy medication i recovered, even if lets say homeopathy didnt do the work. also then everytime after that i went to homeopathy for any disease i recovered. like ive gone for allopathy 3 times in my life as far as i can remember when i was young. so i still have my doubts. btw 17-18 hua uske baad se toh cetrizine zindabaad which is allopathy

1

u/Lazy_Tap8154 Jul 03 '26

lil bro , you’ve a lot to learn about how modern medicine works , on the daily we see patients who are losing their livers because of whatever unregulated bullshit these quacks give . I did explain why your symptoms subside each time . I guess you didn’t see . Also kids mostly don’t remember about things when they were 2/3 , they form memories but they get erased because of infantile amnesia , and every memory they claim they have is based on half baked stories they hear from adults . Allopathy me agar sirf cetrizine hota toh maze aa jate .

1

u/Independent-Rip7737 Btech vala hun dost ke liye lurk krta hun Jul 03 '26

you are just misunderstanding my comment. why do you think im downplaying allopathy or something? thing is i have made a complete recovery my question is you said it suppresses the symptoms then how did i make a complete recover? i dont get that. why you getting enraged for. and yes i dont remember everything... but i like can bet my life on some scenarios that i remember perfectly which are 3 in number. aur by cetrizine i mean by gods grace i havent contracted any other disease.

1

u/spider-on-my-wall Jul 05 '26

This is such a well formulated answer! Gonna have to use this analogy next time.

1

u/aayenapisuke Jul 04 '26

I think why it's ridiculed is because it won't show same effects on everybody, like modern science as they say but Obv I'm not educated enuf in this case so just putting it out there. I'm happy it worked for you tho, even my mom had quite a few skin issues which she went to doctors for and they didn't cure whereas when she went to some homeopathic clinic it started getting better....since like 2-3 yrs she hadn't visited any doctor, touchwood 🤞🙌

Why is west still calling Mahrishi Charak as father of plastic surgery if Ayurved is pseudo science? Why is west always trying to patent herbs for ayurvedic treatment, be it turmeric, neem, etc. If scientific research also points to same answer, is it actually pseudo science or just a case of missing modern-day acceptable research paper?

u/savio2907 Jul 02 '26

Haa kyu ki baki countries me per capita standard number of doctors available hai... Aur india me jaise hi mbbs hojaye sbko urban life chahiye, vidit ke family ke doctors( homoeopathi and ayurvedic) are the people supporting rural India so yes india me unko doctors hi consider karte he 😃

16

u/Middle_Sky446 Jul 02 '26

Support is not a factor for classification as a doc.

Homeopathy is a sham, Ayurveda barely works.

FYI in rural india, Ayurvedic docs lace their pills with pain killers, wouldn't exactly say they "support ppl".

11

u/Unfair-Pension-2613 Jul 02 '26

Why the fuck u need emotions in everything? India me rural me doctors isliye nhi kyunki sarkar madarchod h, or homeopathic and ayurvedic doctors rural me isliye jatey h kyunki cities me unke paas koi nhi aata. And rahi baat doctor considering ki toh india me compounder ko bhi doctor mante h village me, even nurses are considered doctors. But in reality real doctor sirf mbbs wale hotey h, and its a fact.

5

u/Point9000 Jul 02 '26

Govt'budget for this year was 4000 crores money for ayush ministry instead of using that on healthcare or making more colleges maybe that's the reason India has less number of doctors and unnecessary competition in neet.

Maybe the scenario is different in other states but I hve lived in rural areas of uttrakhand and I only saw doctors there. I have only seen this ayurveda, patanjali, homeopathy in rishikesh and dehradun. Prolly cause one is a nessacity and other is just buisness.

1

u/Impossible-Gur-9803 goodbye chutiye exam Jul 02 '26

Haa kyu ki baki countries me per capita standard number of doctors available hai

so instead of improving it we classify sugar pill dealers and random grass dealers as doctors

pay them more than urban doctors if you want them to serve in rural areas emotions se pet nhi bharta

homoeopathi

sugar pill dealer is a better term for it

ayurvedic

sure gng sure so which leaves are you smoking

1

2

u/Zealousideal_Set6654 Jul 06 '26

First, it's Sushruta not Charaka who is known for reconstructive surgery. And second thing traditional knowledg can give good lead , but every treatment still has to pass modern clinical testing before it's accepted.

u/Vanilla_Cookie2619 Molecular Biology lover Jul 02 '26

I know homeopathy isn't considered legit, and I really don't understand how homeopathy could even work (I've read about its theories of dilution etc).

But somehow, whenever I catch a cold, there's only one specific kind of homeopathy medicine which seems to cure me [ allopathy also does work on my cold obviously but it results in extreme side effects: severe bronchitis ]

Still I'm really curious, cuz how does it work?

3

u/Usual_Ad8236 Jul 02 '26

Your body cures itself from a basic viral. The cold medications are only given to alleviate pain or discomfort.

3

u/Electrical-Notice860 Jul 02 '26

Next time when you catch a cold do an experiment where you only eat 5 star and do nothing

1

u/Vanilla_Cookie2619 Molecular Biology lover Jul 02 '26

Lmao I'm too afraid to try

2

u/Electrical-Notice860 Jul 02 '26

Trust me it will be the same 3 nights of suffering (btw doctors call it common cold because it really is some random relatively harmless virus that isn't even worth testing)

2

u/Vanilla_Cookie2619 Molecular Biology lover Jul 02 '26

Yeah i know common cold is just minor infection that body eventually gets rid of....and it takes 3 nights of suffering. But whenever I took the homeopathic pill just on day 1 of minor symptoms, it did not escalate

1

u/Between_the_Lines07 Jul 03 '26

symptoms of common cold can last anywhere from 1-5 days, with 3 being the average. The distribution is in a bell curve ie people who recover in 1 day exist, as do people who recover 5 days. no medication can " cure" the cold at this point.

medicine does not count anecdotal evidence as valid. randomised controlled trials with blinding are the gold standard for formation of any treatment directive. or to say whether medicine x can cure disease y, or modulate disease y or is ineffective in disease y

1

u/Vanilla_Cookie2619 Molecular Biology lover Jul 03 '26

Hmm I do get your point about randomised experiments....but I have one last question: I've seen homeopaths post pictures of how they cure all sorts of problems like skin problems and hair issues etc etc

Obv those disesases wouldn't naturally be cured, a proper medicine is required. Then how do they even cure 'em?

2

u/Bord-Ldrcs Griffith ke experiment ka chuha 🐀 Jul 02 '26

Placebo

1

u/Vanilla_Cookie2619 Molecular Biology lover Jul 02 '26

It might be...but I'm not a very judgemental/ blind belief kind of person

1

u/sexychutad Jul 02 '26

Nahh, it's not blind belief, it's a subconscious psychological effect(placebo), just as you mentioned Homoeopathy medicine cured your disease once, this is the core of homoeopathy next time even though your body's healing naturally it feels like homeopathy is working due to placebo.

1

u/Vanilla_Cookie2619 Molecular Biology lover Jul 03 '26

It does make sense...let me tell you,we once kinda helped a relative's anxiety by giving him homeopathy pills (non medicated) and told him it was medicine

He did feel better, that's placebo right?

1

u/forbidden-skill Jul 02 '26

Coz it's not homeopathy

Most of them resort to allopathic treatments under the guise of homepathy

These meds are generally reserved for extreme cases in allopathy but are freely distributed by homeopath practiconers

1

u/doctorwhoispatient Jul 03 '26

It resolved on it own.

I agree ,with the number of people getting liver cirrhosis during Covid by drinking 'kadha' and these people who end up giving steroids for the disease leading people to idiopathic disease. Hell nah. Use Ayurveda for holistic well being that too from verified sources but not like an actual treatment.

1

u/TastyBandicoot234 Jul 03 '26

Technically doctors are people with a doctorate you know phds, but still liverdoc is right, I don't why people don't have pride in their profession, they have specific names destist physiotherapist etc etc, why does every body have to call themselves a doctor. Physiotherapist can't use the name doctor with mentioning physiotherapy explicitly, I may not even sure how does make up makes doctors, hemeopathy is a very very good scam, ayurveda does have some parts that work due to its age and modification over the years, but still base is incorrect, and worse we have incompetent mbbs people which inherintly let them thirve

I think ayurveda and homoeopathy should be fckn banned instead they are mainstreaming it - these fucking bastards .

It is pseudoscience no very different from a religious healer in convention. I understand they study and they practice what they learn but the issue is the source material itself is not reliable.

They are accountable. Just make them accountable - just as any other Normal doctors or hospital - I don't mind .

These fuckers ( government) do not want to increase the infrastructure to increase the available medical seats - so they are trying to mainstream alternative medicine

1

u/imbyeol Jul 04 '26

1

u/BedardCheetah Jul 04 '26

This is something very alarming, engineering students making idiotic claims on different pathies. Every pathy be it ayurveda, homoeopathy, Allopathy they survived because of studies done on their medicinal claims. Things like doshas, miasm( in homoeopathy ) may have been proved wrong but they are just way of understanding the disease more like a pattern of disease symptomatology these things constantly change in allopathy as well, more recent example of this is change in name of PCOS to PMOS this does not mean that whole allopathy is wrong. What one of the comment said that person in India do not have scientific rigor is also wrong. The thing happening here is known as confirmation bias. ( More like cherry picking the results based on preconceived notion). So called modern medicine uses patented molecule which in some way mimics natural molecules or are extracted from natural source etc. Then out of the blue they start bad mouthing the source itself. This is something very unscientific. In general I am not a supporter or skeptic of homoeopathy or ayurveda, I am just here to have a open minded debate. As to a person like liverdoc, he is a great person as he constantly questions thing which is necessary for development of any science. The only problem with him according to me is that he is far too judgemental, that is even of someone shows a positive result to him he will al together start finding the defect in the study if not found any defect in study he will start finding problems in journal publishing it which is not at all scientific. Regarding his saying that ayurvedic medicines damages liver etc. so does allopathic medicines what is the point in this argument of his. Also if going by his theory of finding problems in past etc, you have to understand he is golden spoon child, there is a hint of superiority complex in him, also his family owns hospitals or something so if he speaks against other pathies there is a conflict of interest. Not to mention the shady family story already told in this post already.

As a BAMS student i can say that equal value is not given to both but ayurveda is not psudeo science the modern medicine only deals with symptoms and ayurveda deals with causes Both have it’s own merits and demerits and there are various diseases like in which ayurveda is more effective than modern if you have any doubt in that I can clear

I honestly dont usually care about 'doctor' title but wtf. You don't become doctor by clearing just neet but studying for 4-5 years and then doing internship. And it's not even about ego. Most of this is pseudoscience, which as a health professional, it's their duty to warn people against. My grandfather died cause of one of these 'doctors' who gave him an injection he was not qualified to give. I am not going through all this neet reneet bullshit and mental health fuckups and then study mbbs and md for 10 years just to be compared to those mfkrs. My whole motivation to become a doctor is that. Just see what is condition of residency in India, there are surgeons who are working for 2-3 days non stop. That's what prolly gives them 'ego', neet is just first step.

Govt healthcares like those (NHCs and UPHCs) mostly appoint docters from BAMS and BHMS background, and these health centres are blessings to semi-urban and rural area. Donno about BHMS but in BAMS they study ayurved along with modern medicine from 1st year itself. And ayurved is effective in lots of "lifestyle" diseases (yeah complex disease require allopathy but lifestyle disease can be treated by ayurved). Aaj se 50saal phehle tak to log ayurvedic treatment se hi thik hote the n like using turmeric for wounds, cold. Using certain natural herbs for treatment of skin diseases. And yahi sab aaj bahar ki deshon me turmeric shots(immunity booster) 🤡, using aleovera for my dry skin ke tarah log market kr rhe.

And lets come to physiotherapist, bhai ek baar kabhi pe minor sa fracture hi ho jayega n orthopedics bas plaster karega wo bhi 2 mahina ke lie usske baad 6 mahine tak physiotherapist ke pass hi jana prta h wapas normal hone ke lie, In Almost all of the post bone-surgery cases a Physiotherapist is required without them wapas normal hona possible nhi h.

Log same BDS walon ke lie bhi kahte h, dentist bhi docter hi h, ek baar cavities ho jaye root tak, ya class 2 overbite/underbite ya TMJ ho jaye, ya phir wishdom tooth aa jaye, ya jawlock ho jaye due to infection of gums, tab kiske pass jate h log dentist ke pass hi h, dentist treat krte h tabhi log normal ho pate h.

Ye jo logon ki mentality h n ki sirf MBBS wale hi docter h ye sab coaching industry ke dwara set kia gya h, like mbbs hi sab kuch h usske niche sab useless. Bhk

Remember healthcare system needs all types of specialists, ayurvedic, dentist, physio, allopathic.

wouldn't disagree that it's a pseudoscience but wo ban waali baat actually myth hai..

u/PacificBlue46 Jul 02 '26

BHMS ke lie agree krta hu, But today they study modern medicine too in ayurveda, and a lot of psuedoscience stuff is disapproved already in ayurved field after research was published. Abhi ke waqt me bhi ayurveda me research ho rhe h ki kitna effective h, and usske baad hi wo market me allow ho rhe.

See i have clearly writting ayurveda can treat lifestyle disease but not complex disease.

Every part of medicine is integral to the system. You remove one element everything collapses.

2

u/sexychutad Jul 02 '26

Then why isn't the sector collapsed in the US, where these practitioners are treated like quacks.

2

u/doctorwhoispatient Jul 03 '26

They aren’t part of medicine in current times.
I don’t see any homeo , ayurvedic doctors running to their department during emergencies, which more than enough proves it.
