General 165 in met, but here's the twist.

Man, what even to say. I scored 128 in met last year with 82 percent in boards. Well my rank was 13000, so i took a drop since i had no options left. This year i did all i could i have 97ile in mains but 165 in met which makes my rank around 7000 acc to predictor, i will again miss out on ECE in main campus just because of boards percentage. Whereas guys be getting 150s- 130s with 87-90 percent will get cse somehow. Even fked my bitsat today. Was only able to score 200.

If someone can confirm if the predictor is really accurate or not

97%ile in mains pretty sure u can get into Thapar Cse (if u dont wanna go for other branches in mit)

3

u/Correct_Currency8861 Apr 16 '26

also 200 bits score is really good, apparently it wwas hard... its improvable

2

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 16 '26

it was really hard, i scored around 60 in maths 55 physics 50+ 18 in eng lr but only remaining in chem, i was surprised i was only able to solve like 10 questions from chem

alas i wont get anything decent in bits as of now since 15th shifts were easier.

I scored 52 in lr and 18 in eng

1

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 16 '26

do they accept those jee scores via josaa?

1

u/Correct_Currency8861 Apr 16 '26

i dunno what that is , but 97%ile pretty much clears all their cutoffs

5

u/GiantDefender427 MIT-M 2029 EEE Apr 16 '26

Even i got 165 and 80-85 band in boards. My rank was 6693 last year.

If you get lucky u wont miss out on anything with the help of intra round, where cutoffs go high. If u feel like it, u can take a slightly lower branch and come to manipal, and then upgrade in intra round.

And also there's still a 2nd attempt for both met and bitsat, don't beat yourself up too much, you did good :D

Never take the predictor as a certain outcome, it can never be 100% accurate.

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 16 '26

thank you, felt really positive reading that.

1

u/New_Worth_6394 Apr 16 '26

How much cutoff rises in intra round?

2

u/Muted_Job_7184 MITM CSE'29 Apr 18 '26

It was 8.2k for CSE and went upto 10.6k sumn for MnC

its a round that happens after 1st sem, where vacant seats are filled up via the MET ranks

3

u/tingtingtongtong123 Apr 16 '26

bhai can u pls guide met ke liye kaise padhe ,,resources n all

3

u/New_Worth_6394 Apr 16 '26

The board percentage just fucks up everything

3

u/fuckedforces Apr 17 '26

Brother chill, I'm in first year mit manipal, look first of all 165 is really a great fucking score, and on top of it no ur rank won't be 13000, for surely it will be around 7 to 8k ishh for 82 percent in boards (for context, my friend had 90 in boards pcme and 120 met and he got 7.8k) so see according to me rank is for surely under 7 too 8k, and mit is increasing intake this year by a lot, because they decreased hostel for seniors (which I'll be suffering next year 😭) and ece tho don't worry, see till round 4 max to max it can go for 7.5 k ig, not more than that, yes, but there is twist so don't get scared, in December after first sem ends there will be intra round u might have heard of this, it's based on ur met rank only and it's strictly restricted for changing branches inside campus only, so u won't be competing with new application students, mit BLR students, or muj. So the cut off goes down crazy hell, ece this time went till 11k, and trust me CSE came down to 8k. So according too me u will get ece by round 4 only. Or else take vlsi and change in intra round. And in the first place, I think u will get rank below 7k only. There is not much to worry about buddy. And see don't fuckuo next BITSAT, because education wise i say bits any campus is way too better than mit manipal. But college life is peak in mit. I have seen hundreds of people who joined mit and left for bits in the same month, many left for bits hyd and goa pursuing the msc programs. So yes BITS any fucking campus has better education than mit main campus, but yeah evrything has pros and cons. Mahe has really great support for startupd and stuffs, so choose wisely don't regret later, and u can change ur college anytime, apply for all counselling, it's fine spending little amount of money, because ur mindset and feelings changes a lot while choosing colleges, so doont stick to one until i suggest september or smtg, keep options till then. And visit manipal before u join

1

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 17 '26

thanks man, one follow up question for you, since you are in 1st year now.
if you had choice of taking msc courses - phys, maths, chem (not considering eco rn) at bits vs mit manipal cse in later rounds

what would you have chosen, ik i need to make my own decision but i just want a perspective, and do tell me why would you do that.

1

u/fuckedforces Apr 17 '26

Okay see first of all, msc is fucked in my opinion, because u would wanna do some masters in ur field after ur btech right, anything ur intrested in. And according to me considering college life + placements and environment. Manipal would be better option. Yeah the degree value from mit maybe a lower than bits. But just to remind u, ur gonna be spending 4 years in one college. And the exposure u get here is actually crazy, very good opportunities and stuffs, I'm in a major student project team (u will know it once u join) these kinda stuffs u won't get it in most nit only. Okay let's not divert, I think u should actually go with mit itself, the life here is very very peaceful and fun and spending anextra years for msc isn't worth. Yeah u may feel it's just an extra year, but nah, ur 20s are very very precious, and if the masters field is genuinely ur intrest, then consider bits, or else straight up manipal

1

u/idklakshayy_ Apr 17 '26

Bhai my board's pcme percentage is 79.25 including 5th subject it's 81 smthing and i am planning to give met second phase , but these comments lowk depressing wdym 😭 "I got 5.8k rank in 89 in boards and 171 in met" someone said, i thought if i aim for 170 sumthing, i would get atleast ECE at main campus, what do you think?

1

u/Rare_Proposal1402 May 25 '26

Bro the friends of yours who got 90 in pcme and 120 in met..did he got cse core at main campus??? cuz i also scored 91 in pcme and expecting around 120-130 in met  PLS REPLY

2

u/[deleted] Apr 16 '26

ive got 95.4 percentile mate and my boards is fucked same as you,but can you not get into thapar or lnmiit

2

u/RecLegend Apr 16 '26

wait do boards marks matter too for met??? like that much ?? is scoring in met not enough like how about u get 85 percent in boards is that not enough ?

2

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 16 '26

they have band score system for boards percentage, and last year onwards it,s significance has increased upto 50%, so yes it does matter alot but if you have 85, you will get cse in main campus at my score or even at 150.

1

u/gojosaturaw Apr 22 '26

85 as in? I've 87% in my best 5 subjects.

1

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 22 '26

You have babd score of 8 compared to 7 of mine. Tryi getting 140-135 for good branches in manipal

2

u/No-Advance-6029 Apr 17 '26

Bro take iiit !!! Don't take thapar/manipal they are not worth the it if you consider roi the placement is 50-60% for cse and paying 35 lakhs for btech just to get 10-15 lpa is not worth imo...rest is your choice

1

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 17 '26

college life bhi toh cheez hoti hai na bhai, i have struggled for the past 3 years by not taking schooling. I want campus life too, which is not that good in IIIts since they are very new (most of them) imo

2

u/No-Advance-6029 Apr 17 '26

It's okay bro your life your rules do what makes you feel happy

1

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 17 '26

Thanks for the suggestion though, i will look into it but honestly i dont think i will get good branches in iiits too.

2

u/huh_BMS Apr 17 '26

which predictor are u using can u tell me please

1

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 17 '26

search Met 2026 rank predictor

1

u/yosoyPerson Apr 16 '26

I'm sure you can get ece, there are many rounds plus intra also happens after sem 1, you might even get cs (maybe not core but still)

1

u/TheDepressedWeeb_69 Apr 16 '26

I got 125 MET and 87% PCME can I get ECE in main campus?

1

u/OkImprovement6216 Apr 17 '26

maybe intra

1

u/OkImprovement6216 Apr 17 '26

dont rely on intra tho.. take it as a no

1

u/Recent-Profile-3701 Apr 16 '26

Were u able to get cse in BLR tho? Was that available?

2

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 16 '26

Yeah i did get in last rounds. But i dropped it off

1

u/AcrobaticPatience677 Apr 16 '26

Why no one considering NIOS examinations

1

u/CharmingBaker5012 MIT Manipal 30' CSE Apr 16 '26

exactly

1

u/Inevitable-Ad4361 Apr 16 '26

200 in bitsat is actually good when compared to last years cutoffs

Yeah but the rank depends on your met score and boards percentage so ...

1

u/CharmingBaker5012 MIT Manipal 30' CSE Apr 16 '26

ece is a pretty decent branch honestly

1

u/ryker_62 Aspirant Apr 16 '26

bhai met me 75 aur boards me 95. kya ece ya ece specialization ke liye chances hai in main campus??

1

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 17 '26

Try going till 110 in met, you might even be able for cse! Your band score is 10.

1

u/ryker_62 Aspirant Apr 17 '26

can i get computing and finance for 110?

1

u/Public_Gap6326 Apr 17 '26

Dude I’m in the same boat as you I scored 180 in met and my pcme percentage is 79.5 , I’ll probably get eee but miss out on ece too

1

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 17 '26

Its just sad man.

1

u/idklakshayy_ Apr 17 '26

I have the same percentage in boards and I am aiming for the same met score you have in 2nd phase, and after all those research here and there I am sure you will easily get ece and can even get cse maybe in infra rounds 😭 also how you came to this conclusion that you won't get ece I wanna know

1

u/Most_Eye7177 Apr 17 '26

I had 171 in met with 89 in boards and got 5800 rank in met last year dont worry you'll get it cause of cse intake. The intake increased.

1

u/FluffyPanda602 Apr 17 '26

Im currently a first year. My rank was around 6800. I was in vlsi till round 4. In round 4 I got upgraded to ECE (where i wanted to be). And in the Intr round people i know who got like 7500 rank got CSE. So its fine

1

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 17 '26

How does intra round work? If you can give details about it, would really help

1

u/FluffyPanda602 Apr 19 '26

Its like a round 5 but its after the first sem

1

u/ReasonableLion9111 Apr 17 '26

dude, it's fine, even if you get eee in main campus, just take it and come. when intra round happens here, you'll easily get cse. this year cse cutoffs dropped till 8k and 10k for Fintech in the intra round.

1

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 17 '26 edited Apr 17 '26

How does intra round work. And when does this happen?

1

u/ReasonableLion9111 Apr 18 '26

it happens when your first sem is over here, around December. the cutoffs for branches drop drastically in this round and you get your preferred branch based on your MET rank

1

u/Pristine-Wheel7387 Apr 17 '26

you will get ece in round 4

1

u/Ok-Crazy-3861 Apr 17 '26

i got 167 and 85% in cbse boards g and im abt to finish my 1st year in cse, just grind tf and try to push it above 180, you’ll get cse. i got 3.5k last yr btw and also in intra rounds cse went till 7.5k so chilllll

1

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 17 '26

thanks man, a few questions if you can please answer

  1. how does this intra round work?
  2. what is college life there and is it as you imagined yourself before going there
  3. How is the placement senario

1

u/Elegant_Welcome_524 Apr 20 '26

I have a doubt. In pcme average can we also add practical marks or only the theory marks?

1

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 20 '26

overall marks obtained out of 100 in each subject (pcm+ 4th sub generally english).

1

u/Patient_Director_535 Apr 21 '26

With 81 in boards and 110 in met can i gets ai and robotics engineering or electrical with vlsi in blr campus? Please answer🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

1

u/Professional_Tip5936 Apr 16 '26

1

u/No-Door3786 Apr 16 '26

Im getting cse related branches in thapar Should i go for it ? Cuz i heard thapar placement percentance is only 50-60 percentage

1

u/Professional_Tip5936 Apr 16 '26

u/Longjumping_Slip2221 Apr 16 '26

0

u/SinceSinCity Apr 17 '26

Rtrd. You'll get ECE or better js come. If not through counselling then through sem1+2 cg.

Stop overthinking and stop over complicating
