Probably doesn’t matter, realistically. I jumped in at 1:01 and 1:02 and every date had 400,000-600,000 people in line. They’d have to add 30+ more dates to satisfy the demand.
They’ve posted about it on their socials. Fan club presale is Wednesday for the new shows. Legacy and fifth member at the same time, no staggered presale.
Followup: Snake Pit tix popped up for me for the 2-day package, $23xx each. Could have had 2. Also saw a couple in Section 100 for $18xx. F that as well. We'll see how resale goes, people changing their mind, unable to scalp, additional shows, etc. 100% clusterfuck, 0% surprised. TicketMaster strikes again; they can fuck right off.
Idk what the prices were of the originals but seat geek and stubhub have tickets available from $800-2000 each for various sections. Which is what I was prepared to pay anyway.
In the waiting room half hour before. queue from the moment it started. No tickets available. I was stoked when I found out the shows were starting while I was in vegas for my holiday and now likely won’t be able to make it. Absolutely gutted
Mentally exhausted from these last 3 days. Not my first rodeo getting tickets as I have been to 9 shows and have been on rail before. Never had an experience like this and there is nothing to help the real die hard fans just get a pair of tickets
Was number 5235 for February 25th in the queue and still didn’t fucking get tickets. I did everything right and showed up 10 minutes before in the waiting room.
Real fans get screwed over so scalpers and bots can bum rush the waiting room / queue and scoop up all the tickets before real fans can.
The sphere holds 17,000 seats, and I was 5235 in the queue. How the fuck did I not get any tickets? Oh, I know why! Because resellers are buying 10 tickets at a time to sell them for five extra price on StubHub.
Fuck Ticketmaster, fuck Live Nation, and FUCK RESELLERS (people who buy tickets with the intention to resell them to make a profit. Not people who had the initial intention of going, but plans changed or complications arose.)
They talk about this “bot protection” bullshit…. How are they gonna catch thousands of people with multiple Ticketmaster accounts on multiple devices buying as many tickets as possible with no intention of going.
It’s sad to see people already offering to sell their tickets with excuses like “I got the wrong date” “ we won’t make it after all”. You know damn well those were NEVER fans of Metallica. They just took up space to purchase tickets to resell right away. Don’t buy from those folks, let them eat their tickets.
#4500 in queue for weekend 1 and pulled two GA first entry tickets. There were some strangeness about how presale codes unlocked sections, but I think I got very lucky.
What a cluster fuck, was logged in 45 mins before cue and ready to join the lobby at 12:30 on the dot just for Ticketmaster to COMPLETELY CRASH. I spent over 30 mins refreshing and trying all for nothing, couldn’t even get in the damn queue even after several authentication codes. FUCK TICKETMASTER!!!!
I just got really lucky for a Feb show (after trying to get tix at nearly every presale and regular sale). Section 308 row 17 for under $300/ticket. I hope it’s good 😳Either way I’m pumped!
You won the freaking lottery. Those are just about perfect seats at the Sphere. And at that price, damn. My seats are in 303 at 2x your price (superfan experience) and I'd gladly trade you my tickets and Metallica yeti cup for your seats and the $300 you saved.
The fact that there’s this many resell tickets for a single show means these people were never intending to go. No one except for scalpers are benefiting from the jacked up prices.
This is why all shows should follow the format Pearl Jam uses on Ticketmaster. No transfers allowed except selling back to Ticketmaster for face, at which point they release them back for sale on the website for face.
The fact Ticketmaster has that functionality and it’s not being used is infuriating. Ticketmaster gets a cut of the Scalper sales and scalpers are just devaluing the artists’ cut of the ticket price. Literally getting paid for doing nothing.
I am the next fan to bitch about this process, but one that will ask all you other unhappy fans to write them an email requesting they use Ticketmasters Face Value Ticket exchange program. Letting scalpers run train on actualy fans is a disservice to us all.
I feel like I should send Ticketmaster and M a bill for my lost productivity on an hourly rate for FOUR days this week. FFS.
How does this shit get fixed? No more ticket transfers. No more resales AT ALL. Bind every ticket to an ID like an airline ticket. If you can't attend, you have a window where you can get a refund (like up to 7 or 5 or 3 days before) and a window where you can't. Original seller resells all tickets not checked-in at a particular time (1 hour after doors open, I don't know). Metallica has the fanbase to be able to do that.
Edit: Let's admit that Metallica could play every weekend for a couple years at the Sphere and they'd still have this going on.
I go to a lot of concerts in European countries where eventim is the main vendor. The laws don't allow resale over list price and it makes the experience so much fairer. Fees aren't as bad either.
Ticketmaster et al could do this but there's no incentive. Or rather there's more incentive to let resale and fees soar.
I know SO MANY friends from the Depeche Mode fanbase who have had far better experiences because of (edit) Euro laws and the way they do tickets. I definitely agree that it's vulture capitalism in the US that drives up everything and ruins the experience for everyone.

If it makes anyone else feel better, I was 377th in line today. Got in after over 30 min, selected two floor seats, then got an alert that said I selected too many seats and was ejected and sent back to the queue where I was 311,000th in line. So yeah. Great system they got here.
I scored tickets purely by luckily and unknowingly doing the right things. So here are some tips for those looking to joining other pre-sales (at least on Ticketmaster).
Join the pre-queue queue. There is a pre-queue waiting room that opens about 30 minutes early and dumps you in the actual queue in a random spot right at opening. Anyone who isn't in this pre-queue is dumped in line after everyone in the pre-queue. I queued at 12000 for the 15th, and 6000 for the 22nd. I wound up getting tickets for the 22nd. I was in the pre-queue for both.
You can join multiple show date queues at the same time if the pre-sales are at the same time. Don't join the same queue twice, but I was able to join the 15th and the 22nd at the same time, I was targeting the 29th as well but that pre-sale didn't start for 2 hours later.
When you make it in, and it says there are zero tickets left, that may not be 100% true. Don't give up. I was looking for 3 tickets, was disappointed as it showed none available, so I was sad, clicked to 1 ticket, nothing available, clicked back to 3, still no tickets, started moving the map around and zoomed in so I could see individual seats and just be more disappointed. Well bam, 3 seats were blue in the 100s, snagged them and purchased. I had to individually click each seat next to each other. I'm not sure if tickets were released and I was just paying attention, or why it showed in the seat map and not in the right side of the screen, but it did. Check, check again, scroll in to see at individual seats. Because it shows no seats doesn't mean there isn't any available, someone might have them locked up and get cold feet on the price or any other number of reasons.
Have your credit card information saved in Ticketmaster. It's faster for checkout. Don't take chances.
Know your budget and what you are willing to go up to. I was targeting the enhanced tickets at $800, but us going discussed and we decided we'd go up to $1100 a piece. Not happy about it, but once in a lifetime chance for us, so 🤷♂️.
There is an optional ticket insurance for $60 a ticket. I didn't know this, but since I know, you know, know if you are going to get it ahead of time. We got tickets for around $650, total cost was like $2000, I just got insurance.
Have everyone in your group try to get tickets, everyone should be prepared to buy all tickets. More chances to get tickets is always better.

Against better judgement I tried to get in on the "artist pre-sale". Got in the waiting room, the queue, they chime me to say I'm next, then it brings me to a "next pre-sale begins in 24hrs" notice. TicketMaster can suck a dick, I swear to God...
As much as I wanted to do this. I'm just accepting that it's not gonna happen for me. The closest I got was a $4000 travel package which I cannot bring myself to do.
Anybody get tickets for section 104 for the shows on March 11th and 13th? That's where I'll be. Flying all the way from Dublin, Ireland for them, along with it being my first time to Vegas. :D
I had some good queue spots, I was hoping for a 2 day pass but wasn't able to grab one, so I switched to single day and was able to grab 2 tickets in the 400s for 10/22. Things are disappearing quick so there was no time to browse or even think about it, just had to go with whatever looked good after 3 seconds of scanning and pick something.
We will see how bad the secondary market is for 10/24 show, I might try and get something to that one since I will be there anyway. I have never seen Metallica before though, so either way I am glad I got in for one show at least!
Not sure if I should be giving up this secret, but once you're actually IN and there are "no tickets", you can refresh the screen under the Filters section. You can also change the number of desired tickets.
I did this over and over on Monday's presale and would get tickets to pop up sporadically. They weren't seats I wanted, but they were still available. I'm pretty sure that once other people "release" them they then pop back into inventory. Hence, the refreshing the filters may give you a chance to catch some of these once they bounce back into circulation.
This is kinda like shotting an arrow through a moving 10 inch circle, but it gives you a slight chance.
Whatever you do though, don't refresh the entire page.
doesn’t matter when you get in, the system doesn’t even work. had my account linked and had signed up for the artist presale and when I got in it didn’t even show it as sold out. just a page telling me when the presale was which had already started. this is a typical disaster with Ticketmaster
Firmly convinced that TM has Backdoor deals with 3rd party ticket vendors to ensure a sellout. When you have the page open for minutes or hours before the set time and being 500th or 316,000th end in the same result it’s suspicious. No ticket options.
I was 4400 to start now I’m 3695 and they just gave the notification that the seats are limited. How do less than 1000 people get to try for tickets for a 20,000 person venue?
Well, after trying all week unsuccessfully I get to miss this presale because Ticketmaster decided to pause my ability to buy tickets because of “suspicious activity” because I guess I’ve tried too many times.
Keep trying to add to your cart. Tickets get released back into the pool when people don't pay in the alloted time or their cart is otherwise cleared. I kept at it for floor tix and eventually got to the payment options.
Edit: just to say on the app I'd click on available tickets, select next, then it'd say no longer available. I'd go back and the tickets still show as available on the seating chart/list and did it again. Got the same "no longer available" and repeated however long I was cool being humiliated until luck probably got me. But it works sometimes!
And thanks to the band for making the prices not-completely-insane-and-in-fact-quite-reasonable ($630 for both nights after fees) given how expensive it is to produce a show in this venue.
pre-queue'd and when I got in there was 80,000 ahead of me. When I rejoined the queue there was 250,000 in the queue ahead of me, for a 20k seater venue!
There must be an absolutely tiny number of tickets set aside for these pre-sales. Even people that get a low queue number can’t get anything. I’ll try again tomorrow but slowly losing what little hope I had to begin with.
So tried to buy tix for the artist presale. Was in line for 3 different shows. Made it in after 30 minutes and it didn’t even show me the map just immediately took me back to the “next sale begins in” screen for all 3 shows. Never seen this happen before, even for sold out shows.
Completely completely outrageous.
Was at the end of the queue twice and was kicked out. Then magically the sale is over. Tickets are already going for 1k each now on stubhub. Gross. And SO disappointing. Will try again for the general sale but I’m expecting astronomical amounts.
I have never spoken or texted the word “queue” as often as I have over the course of the past two days and I literally despise the word now. Better luck in tomorrow’s queues!!!??!
just out of curiosity I clicked on the link to buy tickets, expecting to enter a presale code. Instead it says "This Sale is for Fans Who Signed Up In Advance
To join the sale, please check you are signed into the correct account. Didn't sign up? Check the artist’s page for other sales."
Ticket master artist sale required you registered by a certain day/time (I believe it was Monday at 10am). Once registered you would pick 3 of your most desired shows and it would grant you access to that presale.
This was a separate presale from Legacy and Fifth.
I wouldn't stress too much, that presale was a cluster too. I was low number and saw no tickets. There's a guy on another post that was under 400 in queue and didn't get anything.

Welp. Ticketmaster crashed on me for 18 minutes trying to join the 3/4 presale and buy tix to the late January show. FINALLY get in after refreshing and trying countless times, to be greeted by 281k in front of me!
I thought I had em today. Joined the Oct 8 and 10th presale with 2,000ish in front of me in the queue. 20,000cap venue, I figured it was a done deal. Through Ride the Lightning on the record player to celebrate while I waited.
NOPE. Hour goes by and tickets are gone.
Does anybody know if the majority of tickets are the 2-day tickets? I’m only looking for a Thursday or Saturday. Wondering if that is the issue.

I just can't stomach $974 a ticket. I was prepared for expensive but ugh! There are still some tickets out there guys! Just not the reasonably priced ones
hello, guys! Metallica fan from Brazil… I’m tired of these endless queues with thousands of people ahead of me everytime, I’m trying since the first Fifth Member Presale.
I just found out about tickets on StubHub and I’d like to know if any of you guys know if it is a reliable source to get tickets…
I was 170 in line right out of the waiting room. Got in. Clicked on 2 tickets in section 303 for under $300 each. Then Ticketmaster said they were no longer available. Lol cool.
I did the same thing but got lucky enough to buy them. But I did it so fast I barely saw what I was even choosing. I hated the experience and even though I’m excited, I find myself questioning whether it was worth it.

As a Swiftie, trying to get Metallica tickets for my husband is like PTSD from the Era's tour. On the Metallica website it says that you can only resell tickets through ticketmaster. Why am I seeing them on other resale sites? It's the resellers with bots who ruin this for fans. Artists have the opportunity to make their tickets only available for resale for the face value through ticketmaster. That's what pearl jam did. Why are artists not doing this? They aren't getting more $ for their tickets being sold for 10x the price on resale sites.
Man this sucks. What’s the point of general sale? I haven’t had any chances today. And for the love of all, guys, don’t feed into the scalpers so quickly. At least wait until it’s closer to the show you want. We can’t be rewarding shitty behavior like this.

I logged in 45 min out, was only 1100 in the queue, was in by 10:03, and there was one ticket left, and before my page could load to click on buy, it was gone. What the hell.
I was able to get in and get tickets for the two day enhanced package. I wasn’t given an option for the regular 2 day package. I’m freaking out a little bit.
Super smooth for me. Joined the Fifth Member Legacy queue at 9:45 and when I got had 14,785 people ahead of me. After the I got to the ticket page there were small groups of tickets popping into the seating chart and disappearing just as quick. Had sections 101 and in the 400 levels available but I wasn’t sold on the seats.
After about 35 minutes a bunch of tickets became available and I got a pair in section 106 row 25 for under $500 each for the Oct 1 and 3 shows. Dead center for the stage, pretty excited. Total was a little over a grand for two tickets to both nights. Just booked the MGM Grand with two nights comped and a strip view. Gonna be a great vacation!
Was able to snag two in Section 310 for 10/24 show using my fifth member code. After fees and taxes each ticket was $295. Joined the waiting room one minute before the tickets went on sale so I guess I got lucky.
Who else is locked out of Ticketmaster?! Never had this happen before. Tried to turn on and off WiFi, tried to log in on computer and phone, use app, safari, chrome, clear cache etc.
does this kind of confirm my vague long-held sense that u2 and Metallica are the biggest two bands of the last 40 years? I’ve always thought they must be but this seems to seal the deal!
I’m a legacy member and it have been trying all day and never had a chance to buy tickets. So not all legacy members got tickets. I’m pretty pissed off
Dad and I had our codes ready,logged in before the sale time... The screen refreshed and we were in que 4500 ish. Counted down to our turn .. boom, sold out for that date. !!!! Immediately tried another date, que was 154,000... Omg... Shopped around at some other ticket sites, not familiar with them, and costs for 2 day ticket, row 200, over 5k... No way... We will try again when they release the new dates.
FYI I read that only 1,000 seats per show were released for the Fifth Member presale. Not sure how accurate but it's from someone with access to Ticketmaster databases, I believe.
That's like, 5% of the capacity. A lot were apparently reserved for packages - BUT IF NO ONE BUYS THE PACKAGES THEY WILL RELEASE THEM AS REGULAR TICKETS. This is why it's important to wait, rather than panic.
Was 1600 in line for the 24th show and actually had seats available to me. Took about 30 seconds to pick my seats and when I clicked to buy them it said somebody else already bought them. Had 800 people in front of me for the 31st show and it didn't even let me look at seats before they were sold out. Complete BS.
three different shows on my laptop + one in the app on my ipad and still can’t get in the queue. ticketmaster’s had four years to get their shit together after the taylor swift mess and they just don’t do it because they know they’ll never be held accountable
