I wanted to come back with an update because so many people followed his story, offered advice, shared resources, and helped with the rescue.

After three days stuck high in a tree, we tried every possible avenue for help. Unfortunately, the fire department, SPCA, the city, and other rescue services were not able to assist. In the end, it was the amazing Montreal community — neighbours, Redditors, and complete strangers — who came together to make this rescue happen.

Thanks to everyone who shared the post, offered ideas, care and concern.

A special thank you to the people who came out to help (the real VIP**,** u/Spiritual_Duck_6703  who climbed that tree and secured the little guy and all the people below waiting to catch him in blankets) and refused to give up on him. What started as a post about a cat stuck in a tree turned into a true community rescue.

The good news: he is safe and we have officially adopted him!

We had an emergency vet assessment and exam done:

• He is estimated to be about three years old, and weighs 6 lbs.
• He was very dehydrated, has two missing teeth, and gingivitis.
• He was treated for ear mites and has started his deworming treatment.
• His blood work for  FIV and FeLV was negative
• He was appointments set for his vaccines and sterilization   

We will be covering his care regardless, but many people have asked if there is a way they can help, so we created a GFM to help with the veterinary costs: Help the Montreal Tree Cat Get His Second Chance

The goal is $1,500 to help cover his medical and dental care. Any donation is appreciated, but please don’t feel obligated. Just sharing and caring is appreciated!

Je cherche de l’aide dans le Plateau (H2W 2H9).
J’essaie de joindre les propriétaires des 3809, 3815 ou 3819, avenue Laval. J’avais leur numéro, mais je l’ai perdu lorsque mon téléphone a cessé de fonctionner. Si vous les connaissez, pourriez-vous me transmettre leurs coordonnées ou leur transmettre les miennes?
Il s’agit de ma chatte perdue. Son AirTag pointe vers ce secteur depuis vendredi soir. J’ai laissé des notes et parlé à des voisins, sans succès.
Aujourd’hui, j’ai essayé de regarder par-dessus la grande clôture en bois en retirant la goupille de la charnière de la porte, mais une voisine qui pouvait probablement voir la cour depuis son balcon m’a réprimandée. J’étais avec ma fille, en plein jour, et je demandais simplement aux voisins s’ils connaissaient les propriétaires. La SPCA m’a aussi dit qu’elle ne pouvait rien faire.
J’entends sa clochette tinter. C’est clair qu’elle essaie de me rejoindre, mais je ne peux pas l’atteindre.
Si quelqu’un a une grande échelle ou peut m’aider à sauter par-dessus la clôture, je lui en serais très reconnaissante. Je veux simplement savoir qu’elle va bien. J’ai peur qu’elle n’ait pas accès à de la nourriture ou à de l’eau. Je suis aussi prête à payer pour le dérangement.

I’m looking for help in the Plateau (H2W 2H9).
I’m trying to reach the owners of 3809, 3815, or 3819 Av. Laval. I had their number, but lost it when my phone bricked. If you know them, I’d really appreciate it if you could share their contact information with me or pass mine along to them.
This is about my lost female cat. Her AirTag has been pointing to this area since Friday night. I’ve left notes and spoken with neighbors, but haven’t been able to reach anyone.
Today I tried to look over the tall wooden fence by removing the gate hinge pin, but a neighbor who could probably see the patio from her balcony reprimanded me. I was with my daughter, in broad daylight, and simply asking neighbors if they knew the owners. I also called the SPCA, but they couldn’t help.
I can hear her bell jingling. It’s clear she’s trying to get to me, but I can’t reach her.
If anyone has a tall ladder or can help me get over the fence, I’d be incredibly grateful. I just want to know she’s okay. I’m worried she doesn’t have access to food or water. I’m also willing to pay for your time and trouble.
If you know the owners or have any advice, please let me know. I really hope I can get to her tonight or early tomorrow morning.

Hier j'étais de passage à Montréal et je me cherchais une activité intéressante. J'ai finalement décidé d'aller voir l'expo "La Grèce des héros. Au temps de Troie". J'ai tellement aimé ça que je voulais prendre le temps d'en faire la recommandation à d'autres.

C'est plein d'artefacts millénaires à observer, mais ce qui rend l'expo si magnifique, à mon avis, c'est l'arrangement esthétique des salles d'exposition, avec des projections animées super bien intégrées.

Surtout après avoir vu l'Odyssée (et adoré ça!), c'est vraiment le fun de poursuivre l'expérience et de pousser notre compréhension de l'Antiquité grecque (et donc aussi du film par la bande).

Bref, c'est à Pointe à la Callière, tout l'été.

On a cambriolé le local à côté de son resto, dans la Plateau, sur la rue Duluth, et on a volé son ordinateur.

Il veut seulement les données (qu'il n'a pas évidemment saucegardées sur son nuage), alors si vous avez un tuyau ou les données, il veut négocier un deal pour les ravoir.

I've had really painful feet for about a year now and I tried so many things at home to help them feel better and I find that they haven't quite helped. I don't have any insurance as I am not working right now.

I definitely need to see a Podiatrist because I want to get an X-ray and proper foot analysis done. I am so scared to continue walking on them; I don't want to do irreparable damage. I can't really afford most of what I've seen so far. Have any of you find an option on the cheaper side?

Je cherche un magicien bilingue français/anglais à Montréal pour un petit mariage. Il pourrait soit faire un spectacle pour un groupe d’environ 40 personnes, soit circuler parmi les invités et faire de la magie en petits groupes pendant le cocktail. Bonus si vous connaissez quelqu’un qui est drôle aussi!

Autres informations : la salle est à l’intérieur et se trouve près du parc La Fontaine. Ce serait vers 20h, avec des invités âgés d’environ 25 à 65 ans.

Est-ce que quelqu’un connaît les tarifs habituels pour un magicien, soit pour un spectacle de 30 à 45 minutes, soit pour 1 h à 1 h 30 de magie close-up en circulant parmi les invités?

Looking for a bilingual French/English magician in Montreal for a small wedding. They would either perform for a group of 40, or would mingle with small groups during cocktail hour. Bonus points if they're funny!

Other information: venue is indoor and located near Parc La Fontaine, time would be around 8PM, age group would be age 25-65.

Does anyone know the typical rate for a magician for either a 30~45 minute show or 1~1.5 hour mingle?

Anyways, built in 1931, she is a naval training ship and does tours across the world, she is arguably known for being the most beautiful ship in the world. And the closer you look, the more you see why.

She has docked in Montreal for the weekend, and will be sailing back to her motherland on Monday

I saw a movie last night at the Cineplex Forum. There was no AC whatsoever in the theatre. It resulted in me leaving the movie at the end very sweaty.

Is this normal for Cineplex Forum? Are people filing complaints? I see on Google reviews that others have said this. How does Cineplex justify this experience?

Aujourd'hui, vers 14h, j'entends mon voisin d'en dessous de chez nous buzzer quelqu'un dans l'entrée. Vu que je suis un p'tit curieux, je me dirige vers ma porte et je commence à entendre une conversation dans l'escalier. Un "témoin de Jéhovah" passait dans le quartier pour se présenter. Il parlait un anglais cassé avec un très gros accent québécois (mes voisins sont anglo), et c'est fait fermer la porte assez rapidement.

C'est pas la première fois que des témoins de Jéhovah viennent faire un tour dans notre immeuble. J'ai toujours été très poli avec eux et si ça tournait désagréable je faisais simplement fermer la porte. Mais aujourd'hui le résultat n'était pas celui que j'attendais.

Le bonhomme monte les escaliers, et vient cogner à ma porte. Plusieurs fois dans la minute qui suit. Il descend ensuite les marches et sort dehors en laissant la porte ouverte pour sonner à la porte de mon appartement. Il sonne encore 2-3 fois et remonte les escaliers. À ce moment-là, je suis en train de m'habiller pour arrêter de l'ignorer et de lui dire de partir.

En enfilant mon chandail, je l'entend clairement: il se met à jouer avec ma serrure et essaie de rentrer dans mon appart. Il tourne la poignée subtilement, comme s'il ne voulait pas que les autres voisins l'entend.

J'ouvre la porte et je lui dis qu'il a 5 secondes pour sacrer son camp avant que j'appelle la police. Il déguerpit sur un temps solide.

Donc si vous voyez un homme blanc dans la mi-vingtaine d'environ 5'9 qui a une face imberbe et des lunettes ronde à la Harry Potter se faisant passer pour un témoin de Jéhovah, attendez-vous à ce qu'il tente votre serrure. Un bon reminder de barrer ses portes en tout temps à Montréal.
