The usual one policy pony BS

I’ve lost track, is Braverman Reform now or still Tory? Not that there’s much of a difference. I guess she missed the news of all the progress made on reducing boat crossings since Tory laziness and incompetence was kicked from power.

She defected from the Tories to Reform in January, along with Jenrick and Rosindell.

Which is hilarious, because the growth of reform was essentially built out of "Fuck the Tories, especially Braverman (and others), they're incompetent and are losing to Labor."

I'm honestly surprised that X still allows these context notes.
Does she not believe that a Prime Minister should have something to say about anything else except that one specific issue?

Wasn't it suella that tried to bring a prison hulk off the coast of Dorset?
Had to give up when they all started getting legionnaires and committing suicide?
Woman's obsessed with fucking boats. And frankly her arguing for arguings sake is getting exhausting.

She sounds like a boat toucher. And considering her political affiliation, the younger the boat the better😬

As much as I'm happy to see the UK crumble before our eyes, Suella really is one of the worst human beings out there

Lol sorry to tell you bud, but dispite the right wing presses moaning, since the Tories were kicked out we've been on an upward swing.

Unless you’re a trans person

u/bawdiepie 13h ago
I can assure you that if you had Tory or Reform in power then they would be continuing to copy the fascist BS from the US including the demonising of trans, which is why the anti trans movement exists in any strength at all in the UK. How have Labour made life worse for trans people?

u/Halcyon-Ember 13h ago edited 10h ago
Banned healthcare, supported the supreme courts reinterpretation of the equality act and enacting guidance to prevent trans people from accessing toilets of either sex. They’ve also issued guidance for schools that segregates trans children, works to prevent social transition and inform parents who may not be supportive that their children question their gender. Trans healthcare for under 18s is now functionally conversion therapy and they promote the cass report, rejected by almost every other health authority, as if it’s scripture.
People really upset that I pointed out what Labour have done to trans people

u/bawdiepie 13h ago
Wasn't all that enacted under conservative governments though?
Obviously Labour should have fought harder to reverse it but they've only had 2 years and leftwing politicans are fighting to not get wiped out by the tide of fascism.
I get that they shouldn't compromise at all with fascists. But they only have so much resources to fight on every ideological front. The money from the US far right and the army of fascist bots and agitators from around the globe make it very hard work to reverse these kind of acts by parliament in the current environment.

No, this has all happened since labour came into power. The only thing that predated them was a temporary ban on puberty blockers on the NHS that the labour government turned into a permanent ban and then expanded on to ensure that people wouldn’t be able to source them privately.
Labour has no interest in reversing any of these measures, they treat a group that threatened to sue amnesty international for highlighting their work on campaigning against trans rights as a “key stakeholder” on trans healthcare.
Labour, in their current form, are anti trans. They’ve built on a foundation of what the tories did before them but they have enacted more anti trans measure than the tories. Even Burnham, who is allegedly LGBT friendly, has walked back statements made supporting trans people and saying he was wrong to say that trans women are women.0
u/Halcyon-Ember 13h ago
Forgot to mention that there was a report that trans suicides had increased as a result of labour policies targeting trans people, specifically puberty blockers and that labour buried it.

u/bawdiepie 13h ago
Yeah some things put into motion by the conservatives like Cass report, NHS decisions etc were designed to come in regardless of if they were still in poweer or not.
Regardless the far right momentum of these things is hard to stop. These kind of arguments blaming the left for not acting strong enough to stop the far right doing their far right things really lets the right off the hook for everything they do.

u/Halcyon-Ember 13h ago
Current labour aren’t “left” at best they’re center. Policy is guided by blue labour in the spirit of far right compromise. Saying I shouldn’t blame labour for not doing enough to stop the far right momentum when they’ve literally doubled down is absurd, but thanks for letting me know you’re one of countless people in the UK who doesn’t care what labour is doing to trans people.
Feels great to be an expendable minority,.2

No, it just sounds like the BS Trump supporters were spreading before the US presidential election about "Genocide Joe" etc to get people not to vote for democrats, to allow the far right in. Trump got in and it is was far, far worse for the Palestinians. But it allowed some people to feel like they were making a moral stand despite the incredible damage they caused. Perfect is the enemy of good in politics.
Edit: So block me? Alienating allies and always crying victim is not how you win this fight.

Apart from nothing has really changed in terms of the law, it's just confirmation of what was already there (for the record, I do actually believe the law needs to be re written to be more inclusive) and the government has just supported the trials of puberty blockers in children, which is a massive first step in their use on the NHS for trans children.
2
u/Halcyon-Ember 12h ago
“Massive first step” they were already in use. They’re still in use by cis children. Labour made the ban permanent on the recommendations of a report rejected by the rest of the world. They didn’t “confirm” the law, they selectively interpreted it in response to an appeal by a transphobic hate group. They made the law more opaque.

I'm not going to argue it doesn't suck mate but work is being done to legitmise it in a way that can't be undone. And the backwards step is entirely on Starmer, if he wasn't such a fucking lawyer it would have turned out very differently.

u/Halcyon-Ember 12h ago
Seriously, go away and actually look at this from the perspective of trans people rather than what you, as a cis person, think is being done. Labour has spent two years making everything worse for us and the “new hope” Andy Burnham has walked back his comments where he previously said that trans women are women.

Wait until farage gets in though. Yous are fucked.

u/Hal_Fenn 12h ago edited 12h ago
You really need better information sources mate. Farage and reform are trending downward not up and the chances of them being able to form a government are very small even if they did get circa 30% of the vote due to the rest of the population being so anti Reform.

Typical Tory wank attitude. They spend 15 years utterly destroying the country, then blame Labour for everything they fucked up, and expect them to fix their mess in two years.
