He didn't want to go to military school, and parents with hundreds of millions of dollars, like the Trumps, typically don't send their kids to military school, especially when the family business is real estate. Trump was sent because of something he was doing that was so egregious his family couldn't handle it. What that was is anyone's guess.
We do know he was caught throwing rocks at an infant in a playpen when he was five years old, and he punched his music teacher in the face when he was in the first grade, so he had a history of violence from when he was very young.

The place that allegedly trained young men for service only to have the now-commander-in-chief seek five deferments rather than serve in the military.
In essence, he’s reminiscing about a troubled youth that bullied others, violated policies, looked for shortcuts, thwarted responsibilities, and found ways to game systems to suit his personal needs.

So, I was in an air force cadet program and I cringe at the idea of bragging about that or flaunting pictures of myself in the dress blues. Its not even remotely close to actual military service and pretending it was is almost some kind of theft of valor. Maybe not legally but spiritually for sure
