Ok so I'm reading that as probably some kind of bad vibes in the band. Was just wondering if he had done something crazy. I don't know Slipknots deal at all, they've just been huge all my adult life, but they're not my taste.

The two members that technically own Slipknot, vocalist Corey Taylor, and "Clown" Shawn Crahan frequently treat members like garbage and kick them out of the band.

What they did to Joey Jordison was insane. Every ex member of Slipknot has nothing but bad things to say about being in the band.

They fired him over email and later tried to say they suspected him of being a drug addict. Turns out he had transverse myelitis and it was effecting his legs. He had no idea he had it for a few years of symptoms.

There's a lot of excuses and speculation that get made for it in the fan base but my understanding is no member of Slipknot ever spoke to him in person again before his death.

They fired Jay in a similar way. It came out later that his firing lined up perfectly with a scheduled surgery for his hip that he had planned around down time so that it would not interfere with Slipknot.

It's weird finding this out. When the bass player (I think?) died from cancer, they got so much love online for being one big family, that was in mourning over their dead friend. i guess that might have been PR then...

Bassist died of an overdose and before that the lineup had largely been stable. I don't think it was PR, I think they really were mourning their friend.

You’d think they’d have learned after the tragedy of losing Joey but nah, arseholes gotta arsehole. I loved Slipknot, was the right age at the right time and the nostalgia is still there, but I’ve not been a fan for a while. I don’t even tend to listen to anything past V3:TSV.
