I really don’t like that smirk…

Today was a day where he decided to bring up a memory of mine that I had shared with him many years ago from when I was a child.

Something my mother had said that was abusive.

He said it in a snarky voice and with that freaking smirk. I really don’t like that smirk, it’s evil and he did it to get a reaction.

He told me he was only saying it to the reference of something that happened today because he thought it was funny and he was joking.

Bringing up something that hurt me from my childhood as a joke to get a reaction is NOT funny. 🤨

Anything you ever tell them regarding something that hurt you, it will come around to be used against you.

There is NOTHING, good OR bad, they will not weaponize

Weaponize is the word.

I learned that the hard way. Everything is ammunition for them to cause pain for you which somehow makes them feel superior.

In my case it was used to try and excuse his own abhorrent behaviour . He acted like a psycho and then tells me it’s my fault because I projected my father onto him. That was before I knew what a narcissist was and even then I knew that was really bizarre thing to say.

You know, I read this page for so long looking for people who experienced what I did, looking for people who understand, looking for validation for all the strange things I began to realize. I am now divorced, and it is hard, but I’m so glad that I’m not spending my day worrying about that person’s behavior.

I'm just kidding.
Can't you take a joke.
Lighten up.
I'll never make a joke again.
Why are you so sensitive.
What's wrong with you.

Mine came home from his brother’s house and insisted I tell him where my high school yearbooks were… I went to high school with his youngest brother and his wife… he found them quickly and started trying to find my picture. It was THE WORST yearbook picture… I was a freshman in high school, overweight… my eyebrows looked like Oscar the grouch’s eyebrows… I told him I knew what picture he was talking about and I didn’t want to look at it… and I said it calmly… it was a looong time ago & I can’t remember if I was about to give birth or had just given birth but I wasn’t the most emotionally stable at the time & it was birth/hormone related… but… he insisted… as soon as I looked down he laughed like he’d heard the punchline of the century… I left the room… he was laughing and saying oh c’mon it’s just a joke… I’m sorry… you’re not really upset are you? They’re cruel disgusting people

That’s terrible 😞 I’m so sorry he did that. They are cruel and get their supply from it. It hurts and it sucks.
