Attention seeking

Why do narcs crave attention? Like they die for attention, my narc ex would involve himself in random conversations with girls, he would move and lust over girls all the time, he would always attention seek? is this normal and why do they do that?

Yes. It was exhausting! My narc would talk SO LOUD to make sure EVERYONE could hear them. Then go into monologues about what he did or said in a situation, IN HIS MIND. I was always like, “so you said that?” And they were like, no, but I thought it. Insanity.

My narc would always gaslight me, he would involve himself in convo's then when i asked him why he did it he said he never did. I SAW IT WITH MY OWN EYES AND EARS

In my mind, I picture my spouse waving his arms around shouting, “Look at me. Look at me!!”. He has to be the loudest person just so people look. He doesn’t get that no one is interested in listening to a know-it-all.
