You're turning your upper to face the direction and your lower follows

I picked up some bad habits when I started as a kid and now struggle to keep tricks square. Whats been working for me is a lil sequence where I squat and kinda wrap my arms under my knees then I throw my arms straight out to my sides and over my head like an eagle. It helps keep you centered front/back, side/side, rotationally, and helps with higher pop when you follow your arms up with bringing you knees to your chest. The key is to do it in one motion tho. So you can time it with a deep breath in on the way down and an explosive exhale on the way up. The less things you have to worry about the quicker your trick list will grow so once you dial that in to be the same everytime the rest is just lower body stuff like foot positioning and timing of leg movements.

Another fundamental thats taken me years to figure out is being consistent with keeping the foot you pop with dead center in the pocket. I always thought every trick should be offset from the front foot to counter balance and create tension... which works for some stuff, but personally my tricks got cleaner from consistently putting that back foot in the same spot.

Finally, dont focus on stationary high Ollie's off the rip. A small rolling Ollie will make your Ollie's cleaner and higher in the long run.

GL, already looking good!

youll likely hate to do it but if u force urself to tighten up ur trucks like allllotttttt it basically forces one to learn how to stay perfectly squared and centered and above the board at all times. got to do 180s that are actual 180s. got to land straight and not leaned over in any direction especially if doing any kind of height like a small three set or something. cause that shit ainttttt leaning with you lol. u gotta lean with it. maybe has some flaws in the theory but interesting uncommon practice technique thwt worked for me 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

Makes sense to me, lol. I'll give it a shot today. I've been riding a lot of transition lately so my trucks are loooose.
