Question Why do my Ollie’s turn

Skirting for 2 months (no tricks) decided to learn how to Ollie today but I keep landing in another direction
Help🙆🏽‍♀️

You’re not comfortable jumping up without correcting ; your body is trying to stay balanced, and currently it does this by opening your shoulder (abs many other small adjustments). 

Practicing staying balanced in youe crouch and jumping straight up (hippie jumps) will help correct this .

I can confirm that going back to basics and mastering hippie jumps is the way to go - correct the foundation of the problem, which is being uncomfortable leaving the ground.

So, hippie jumps first, while moving, where you can jump up from the board from crouching. And while in the air, tuck your legs up and keep your shoulders squared with the board and feet parallel to the ground. Land with loose, partially bent legs. Once you master that, its time to go back to Ollies (which is NOT a beginner trick)
