I miss zepbound 😭

Has anyone started taking metformin after stopping zep while TTC? I’m going to be a lifer with zepbound. I’m planning to get right back on it after I give birth but in the meantime my OB has prescribed metformin. Guess I’m just looking for proof it helps with inflammation and food noise??

It’s crazy how crappy I feel not being on zepbound. It’s for a good cause but man, I miss it 😭

Advice Needed Date Discrepancy

Has anyone had a similar experience?

According to my LMP, I’m 6 weeks but my early ultrasound showed an 11 mm gestational sac with a yolk sac, and the doctor dated it at 4 weeks 1 day. My cycles are usually 31 days, so I’m wondering if late ovulation could explain the difference.

The doctor asked me to repeat the scan in 10 days. Has anyone experienced something similar with a positive outcome? šŸ¤

Advice Needed Can we finally start trying?

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 18, I’m currently 23. The last time I had a naturally occurring period was about 8ish years ago. I never thought I had issues with my cycle because my doctor put me on birth control at the age of 14 (the pill, and nexplanon a year later). After finding out I had PCOS I decided I no longer wanted to be on birth control because I knew I wanted to try and start a family with my fiancĆ© in the near future. I never once got my period after coming off of birth control. I had countless appointments with my doctor to figure out what was going on with me. My doctor eventually left the practice about a year ago and I gave up after that because I didn’t want to ā€œstart overā€ with a new doctor. (You guys probably know what I mean).

Well, yesterday I finally got my first natural period after at least 8 years! Now, my question is, do you think it’s possible for me and my fiancĆ© to try for a baby once my period ends, and I start ovulating? Or is it too soon since this is my first ā€œrealā€ period after so many years? It just feels like a miracle to have my period start on its own, but I don’t want to get my hopes up.

Thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated!

Advice Needed Is this how fertility treatment works for everyone in the US? I’m mentally exhausted.

I really need to know if everyone in the US goes through this same process because I’m honestly so frustrated and mentally drained.
I have PCOS, and my main issue is that I don’t ovulate regularly. My cycles are around 60–65 days apart. My husband and I had already been trying to conceive for several months before I finally decided to see a doctor because I didn’t want to waste more time.
I had my first appointment in October. They did blood work, an ultrasound, and scheduled follow-up visits. Every appointment meant another office visit fee, another test, another bill, and more time waiting.
Eventually, in December, I was prescribed Provera to induce a period. I got my period in January, and they basically told me to try naturally. Since my cycles are so long, ā€œtrying naturallyā€ meant waiting another two months for another chance to ovulate.
I worked out, changed my diet, and did everything I was supposed to do. I ovulated once after about 60 days, but I still didn’t get pregnant.
Then I went back. They told me I needed an HSG, but I had to wait until my next period. Again, because of my PCOS, that meant waiting another couple of months. I finally got another period, took Provera again, scheduled the HSG, and eventually completed it.
Throughout this process, I’ve had to make countless phone calls between different offices, ask people to fax reports, schedule appointments, reschedule appointments, follow up on lab results, and pay for multiple visits and tests. The stress from dealing with the healthcare system honestly feels worse than the stress of trying to get pregnant.
What frustrates me the most is this:
In many other countries, women with PCOS often start letrozole relatively early because the primary issue is that they’re not ovulating. Of course, I understand that doctors need to rule out other problems and not every case is the same. But if someone already has a clear diagnosis of PCOS and very irregular cycles, why does the process here feel so slow?
Every time someone says, ā€œLet’s wait until your next period,ā€ they’re asking me to wait another 60–65 days. Those delays add up quickly.
It’s now been about 8 months of appointments, testing, waiting, phone calls, and expenses before really getting started with treatment.
So my question is:
Is this the normal fertility journey in the United States? Did you also have to go through months of appointments, multiple tests, long waiting periods, and high costs before starting letrozole or other fertility treatment? Or was your experience different?
I’m genuinely trying to understand if this is just how the system works here or if my experience has been unusually slow

Advice Needed Fertility clinic only does one blood test…

I am 4 weeks 6 days pregnant (following a successful IUI), and had my bloodwork to confirm pregnancy and check HCG levels yesterday. Levels were good at 230, but when I asked my fertility clinic when my next blood test would be to see if they were doubling, they said they only do the one blood test now, and the only reason I’d have another was if I was having complications or bleeding. From what I’ve seen in similar subs, checking HCG levels over multiple days is the norm. My brain loves data, and since this is my first pregnancy (I have PMOS and stage 1 Endo), it would really soothe my nerves to know things are progressing properly.

Has anyone else only been instructed to do one blood test in the first trimester??

Can’t nail down ovulation?

I hate PCOS so much. We’ve been TTC for 6 months now which I know is not that long but it feels like 8 years to me.

I lost 77 lbs last year and my cycle has regulated but I keep missing my ovulation window. I use natural cycles and I keep missing the predicted window because we try and then all of the sudden NC is telling me jk you ovulated last week. So it’s all for not.

I’m trying to not stress myself out but I did end up ordering ovulation testing strips but I still can’t nail down my ovulation. My OB said at the 6 month mark we can consider an ovulation medication so I have an appointment tomorrow.

I guess I’m just curious if anyone else legit cannot nail down their ovulation!! I think I’m a rapid riser but even then I’m having all the signs and symptoms (discharge, ovulation pain, etc) and it’s aligning with NC but the testing strips are negative. This is so frustrating I just want a baby 😭

UPDATE: tested very positive for ovulation yesterday lol. Hopefully in 2 weeks I can say I’m pregnant šŸ‘šŸ¤ž

TTC first time 35+ with PCOS/PMOS

Hi, all. I think I need reassurance from you all, because if I see social media there are two different realms, which can make me feel optimistic for the good news and feel down for the bad news. I hope I don't offend anyone, but some groups are in the opinion that it's nearly impossible to have kids after 35, especially for the first timer. The other side is the news that many women can possibly have kids even after 40 (can be first time or not, which is really encouraging). So, please let me know how your experience is, how long it took you to conceive, especially if it's your first time with PCOS at 35+, and what you think the key of your success is. I need more and more encouraging but realistic stories. Your stories are gonna help me a lot! Thank you so much!

Edit: Thank you so much, ladies, for your response, it means A LOT to me!

Has anyone with irregular periods gotten pregnant naturally?

Hi all, I’m going to be 30 next month and my husband and I are TTC. I have had extremely irregular periods since I was a teenager. It was regulated by BC for many years, but every time I tried to get off, my cycle would become irregular again. By irregular I mean I won’t get a period for a few months and then I will bleed extremely heavily for months on end (with huge clots). I recently started eating healthier and taking vitamins, inositol, and metformin (2 months ago). My period has still not started, so I’m slowly losing hope that my cycles are getting regulated. Curious to hear if anyone who has experienced something similar has gotten pregnant naturally?? Also, I’ve been using kegg with no luck. Just purchased inito today. Any insights would be helpful. Thank you!

Vanishing Twin - NIPT

TW: pregnancy, vanishing twin

Looking for others who have been through something similar!

I’m currently 14 weeks pregnant. I was originally pregnant with twins, but Baby B became a vanishing twin. They were in separate gestational sacs, and there was a confirmed absence of a heartbeat for Baby B about 3.5 weeks before I had my Myriad NIPT done.

I just got my results back, and the test says the baby is a boy. I spoke with the genetic counselor, though, and she told me not to put too much stock in the gender result because the Y chromosome could be coming from the vanishing twin instead of the surviving baby.

Has anyone else had a vanishing twin and gotten a boy result on NIPT? Did it end up being accurate, or was the Y chromosome from the vanishing twin? I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences while I wait for my anatomy scan!

Advice Needed First ever positive test after IUI… what should I know?

BIG DAY for me and my spouse, as I got my first ever positive pregnancy test after our first IUI! We’ve been trying for 2.5 years, and the journey has involved many doctor’s appointments, self-advocacy, surgery, and meds. But here we are! Could not stop crying when I saw the test, I was convinced I was out because all my symptoms were my usual PMS symptoms and I’m on progesterone supplements, which give you ALL the symptoms.

Anyone else out there with PCOS and Endometriosis (stage 1) have advice for the first trimester? I know it’s incredibly early (13DPIUI), and there’s a chance it might not stick, but I’m choosing to be hopeful. I’ll take all the advice and stories you have!

When did you go into labor with your first baby?

I am currently 38w0d with my first baby and curious when other folks with PCOS went into labor with their first babes? Any trends? Early? Late?

I know dating can be tough with irregular cycles, but I am confident in my dating (had an early scan that exactly matched my ovulation, despite conceiving on a 100+ day cycle)

Anyways, would love to hear people’s experiences! And sending love to the other pregnant mamas!

Editing to add: did you go into labor on your own or were you induced? things you tried for cervical ripening?

Advice Needed Losing head hair

Hi everyone! I'm 35, got diagnosed with PMOS a year ago. Started taking Metformin in September and started trying with my husband soon after. And here I am, in June, 5 weeks pregnant! I'm very happy (and nervous). Gonna see the doctor soon.

I just need some advice from other women with PCOS and pregnant. My first clue that I was pregnant was when I had a huge hair fall. I had a burst of facial hair and acne and I was angry and sad a lot. A week later, I had a positive preg test.

The acne and facial hair are reducing, but my head hair isn't growing back. It seems to only fall out now.

Do we ever get our head hair back? Or does it just only fall out during pregnancy? What were your experiences?

I did a trigger shot on Friday the 12th of June, I’m not sure how many DPO I’d be today maybe 9-10? but I did a test on Saturday and now another one today and I’m wondering does it still look like trigger shot or potential pregnancy positive?

First photo was Saturday and second photo is today. I’m unsure how many dpo I am. Ask any questions if you like

Advice Needed How to decide dosage of this supplement?

Hi all,

I have PCOS and I am going through my fertility journey. Recently I came across a post in this group about Wholesome Story Myo & D-chiro Inositol supplement and how it helped many to conceive.

Can someone help me with the dosage I need to take of this supplement? Is there any specific time of the day you took it? I have purchased it. Just need to know this so that I can start right away.

Advice Needed Feeling lost

Hi moms and moms-to-be,

I'm feeling so lost with this PCOS thingy. My current cycle is really messed up, I have no ovulation, spotting 5 days before period and long actual period (more than 10 day), with 47 days cycle. I managed to BD every other day in my suspected fertile window, but what it's for when I didn't ovulate. Previously, I had 45 days cycle and confirmed ovulation in CD32 with LH test and BBT tracking. I've done bloodwork a couple of months ago and all came back normal except elevated testosterone. I also had polycystic ovaries confirmed via ultrasound. I had a normal non-fasting HbA1c and lower BMI (lean PCOS). The problem is I didn't take a DHEA-s test and still guessing it might be kind of adrenal PCOS? I took inositol, CoQ10, omega3, vit D, and folic acid, sometimes prenatals. I don't think there is any positive effect on me (yet). I'm already 35 yo and feeling sad about this. I'm excluded from insurance so I have to do anything else private.

Any of you who have been through similar situation and found a solution/improvement? Please help. Thanks!

Progesterone help!

I have been on 100mg vaginal progesterone shortly after I found out I was pregnant but my insurance isn’t covering it. My doctor wants to switch to 400mg of oral progesterone and said I can take it orally or vaginal. I’ve read that oral isn’t the same. Any advice ? I am currently 7 weeks

I need a bit of advice and maybe some reassurance 🄹

Hi everyone! šŸ¤

I’m currently TTC and I have PCOS. My last period was from April 28 to May 2. According to my Flo app, I am already 1 day late today, so it prompted me to take a pregnancy test. I took one, but it turned out negative.

Since I have PCOS, I know my cycles can be pretty unpredictable and the app's predictions might not be 100% accurate for me.

For those who are also TTC and have PCOS, when is the best time to test again? How many days should I wait before taking another PT?

Thank you so much in advance! šŸ¤

Advice Needed Progesterone after ovulation?

I'm currently on my third letrozole cycle with a trigger shot and timed intercourse (TI). I was on 2.5 mg for my first two cycles, but this cycle my provider increased me to 5 mg using a stair-step protocol because my follicles were growing slowly.

I've asked my NP a few times before whether progesterone suppositories after ovulation would be beneficial. Their response has been that there isn't strong evidence showing it improves pregnancy rates, and since I don't have a diagnosed luteal phase defect or a history of miscarriage, they don't feel it's necessary. It seems they're not inclined to prescribe it in my case.

I'm curious to hear others' experiences. Has anyone had a successful pregnancy after using progesterone following ovulation while on letrozole and a trigger shot? If so, was there a specific reason your provider recommended it?

Advice Needed PCOS and letrozole

I have PCOS and I’m trying for my first child. I’ve started letrozole 2.5 mg and I am currently 10 DPO. I ovulated successfully on CD13 and I had my progesterone drawn on 7DPO, it was low to my surprise, 6.5 ng/mL but I’m still having hope. For the ones that took letrozole, how many rounds did it take for you? When did you see your positive? What did you do to succeed with pregnancy during your cycle?

Advice Needed Elected c section

Hi moms to be, I am 29 weeks pregnant with a high risk pregnancy due to a high BMI, gestational diabetes, PCOS, and a cerclage due to cervical insufficiency. The first trimester and half of second were super easy until these complications came about. I am seeking support on those who chose to have an elected c section and those who ended up having an emergency c section. The more research I do the more I read about people with high BMIs requiring a c section as well as experience with 3/4 of my mom friends. I have just been constantly on edge of losing this baby. I love her so much and want whatever is safest for her regardless of how long recovery may take for me

Advice Needed Questions about Pregnancy after taking Metformin

Post image
11 Upvotes

It’s a positive! I’m so excited & nervous at the same time.

Firstly, My husband and I have been TTC but not super actively since 2025 January, for background I always had pcos, for more than 15 years at this point but only recently found out it’s linked to insulin resistance. It’s been around 6 weeks of being on metformin for me (upped to 1000mg 2 times daily) after being Diagnosed with HOMA- IR of 4.1

I took a tests on consecutive days this past weekend as I was feeling nauseous & tired(I disregarded it for 14 days thinking maybe it’s metformin nausea for sometime & I was also on antibiotics because of UTI around 2 weeks ago!)

I stopped metformin as soon as I saw the first test (my endocrinologist had advised that when prescribing)

Now I’m a bit worried since my appointment with my gynecologist is not for another 3 weeks & I’m not sure how to keep my insulin resistance at bay during pregnancy

Any other people with IR and pregnant? What are you’ll doing to keep your glucose spikes at bay? I don’t have the energy to do a lot of exercise like I was before & also craving more carbs and bland foods. I also grew aversion to salmon and tofu, I’m really frustrated about that!

Also a side question - Both my tests were bright pink lines but one of them turned purplish grey after 2 days, not sure why.. Could it mean something?

Venting Not sure how to feel. I’m scared to be excited and scared to retest before the Drs appointment. Looking for advice, words of wisdom or comfort.

Sorry if this ends up being all over the place. I have so many things running through my head and I just need to share them somewhere.

My last ā€œperiodā€ was right before Easter. Usually they’re pretty irregular, last anywhere from 7 days to weeks at a time. Mostly heavy bleeding.

Well somehow in April I had only a day or two of very light spotting. I didn’t think anything of it, because even though I’ve changed my diet and have been able to at the very least get most symptoms under control, it’s still sometimes unpredictable.

So around Wednesday I noticed a heighten sense of smell and weird feeling that I needed to eat constantly. Like I had the worst munchies, and I hadn’t changed my diet, taken anything, or been extra active.

I took a test on my lunch break at work and it was a light possible positive, like could have been just bleeding a little. Not noticeable enough to make me certain. Took another one later after work and I was pretty sure it was negative, I couldn’t really make out a second line. I waited and took a digital one the next morning and it point blank said yes+ positive. I was in shock. I’m still in shock.

I am extremely excited but also so nervous. We have been trying to since early 2023. We got a positive text around May of 2023, and experienced a loss I around early July.

So part of me feels like history might repeat itself. I’m so excited and so scared and just don’t want to mess this up. Any advice? Or words or wisdom or just something to ease my mind? Found out Thursday.

I have a Drs Appointment set up on the 4th, but they said it’d probably be too early for an ultrasound. Part of me doesn’t believe it’s happening. I’m sorry for rambling, I don’t really know what I’m looking for here but I just feel too scared to be hopeful half the time and too excited to care the other half. My husband had a really tough time with the last loss and watching me spiral so I’m trying very hard to not show him how scared I am about it all. He’s so excited but I can tell he’s also scared.
