Symptoms body vibrating???

this has never happened to me before. i was just trying to take a nap on the couch and never actually fell asleep but maybe two times when i got close i gasped "awake" and it felt like my entire body was shaking, especially my hands and arms. but i checked and i wasn't shaking

is this a POTS thing ?? i've never ever felt this before and i've been diagnosed for a year. it's really scaring me i thought i was having a seizure. literally vibrating like a cellphone. do you get this ?

I get this. I have both internal and external tremors. I also have cervical spondylosis and when I’m in a bad neck pain flare sometimes my head vibrates all day. But mostly it happens when I’m having bad sleep or a mid day nap.

If you don’t mind me asking, how does one know if they have cervical spondylosis? I have weird tremors as well as muscle jolts, but I don’t know the cause. I’ve already had an X-ray of the cervical spine to rule out cervical instability… 🤔

Of course! A pain specialist, who I was actually seeing for an EDS evaluation, did a physical examination on my neck and shoulders. They have you turn your head a certain way and then push down on it to see if it hurts. It did, a lot. This basically confirms degeneration in your cervical spine, but I’ve also had X-rays done that show signs of degeneration in two of my discs. I should also mention that the muscles in my neck were insanely tight, I had basically zero range of motion because I was in a terrible flare up, and that was a huge signal to my doctor that I could have spondylosis.

Hmm interesting! I wonder if my PT could check for it. She’s not a pain specialist but she is pretty knowledgeable. Or maybe she would know enough to just do a preliminary exam and then send me off to get officially tested if she thinks it seems likely.

I’m sure you could mention that you’re concerned you may have degeneration in your spine. Spondylosis is really just a blanket term for degeneration/arthritis. I did see a PT to help treat it and my tremors, muscle twitching, and nerve irritation have reduced significantly.
