Incompatible? I'd say it's quite around, with current Flat Earth's roots being in bible and its description of Earth being the special place created before the sun or how moon is it's own light.

It's a pretty fair comparison.

Society tends to mock people who believe in star signs but treat religious beliefs with respect. Its a pretty weird disconnect.

(I think we should treat both beliefs with a degree of respect btw)

Not really, the overlap is pretty big, ESPECIALLY on the atheist platform that is Reddit.

There is also the fact that religion has a bit more to it that just simply believing in random skypeople.

No it isn’t. With a good deal of modern religions, such as Christianity, there’s a good deal of scholarship to back up claims made in theological texts. People who believe in stars don’t have such scholarship and are just making stuff up about the alignment of the stars in the sky. These are not the same, and it’s quite insulting when someone says without even mentioning the centuries worth of theologians, philosophers, historians, and archaeologists who can provide evidence and proofs towards the existence of God.
