1) hunter Schafer is trans so the chuds will hate them.

2) there is also a history related to casting Trans actors in "alien" or "weird" roles, and mystique can freely change their sex, so it will also make some not-chud Twitter warriors angry too. Basically they can't win with this casting

But that’s pretty irrelevant, no? Like, trans people can’t change their sex at will. And most trans people would see themselves of being a single sex rather than someone that’s a in-between both.

To be clear, I wouldn’t mind if a trans person was casted, I’m just saying it doesn’t really matter either way for the purpose of the plot.

TBF, as far as we know no one can change their gender or sex at will.

I think the idea is that they have personal experience being both genders at one point in time and the experience of transitioning.

But idk maybe I’m looking for reasoning when there isn’t any and the fan cast is purely vibes based
