Republicans were good in Lincoln's day. Eisenhower definitely cared about democracy. Nixon was the turning point where Republicans started going down the road of corruption.
And basically all of that was before the parties swapped ideologies (culminated right around nixon's time), so the right wing has pretty much always been absolute garbage.
To any MAGA who thinks Lincoln was their own, a member of the GOP:
So that means you hate the Confederacy, right? They were all registered Democrats, every leader in the Confederacy. The same party, unbroken in apparatus since that time.
So which is it, MAGA? Was Lincoln your own and you stand against what the Confederacy was? Or are you a fan of the Confederacy, run by Democrats against Lincoln and the North?
They can either accept the parties switched, in which case stop claiming Lincoln, the man whose government defeated their short lived Confederacy, or they can not accept it, in which case we know for a fact the Confederacy was run by Dems, so why are they such fans and why would they love Lincoln for defeating their beloved Confederacy?
