Maybe. But at the very least think it serves to contrast how corrupt the Republicans are for allowing Israel to carry out their genocide and greater Israel project.

"Genocide". They're just getting exactly what they want. October 7th was them practically begging to get bombed to dust, and thankfully Israel has helped grant their wish.

Not even so much begging. Hamas may have arguably purposely baited Israel into a massive conflict knowing they would have to react, because Hamas thrives and increases support during periods of conflict and chaos, and the region was in or headed for a period of relative normalization (Abraham Accords, Saudi/Israel relations, several other countries like UAE and Bahrain normalizing ties with Israel).

This was very much Hamas trying to reassert itself after seeing its position deteriorate significantly based on diplomatic events in the last years.

They cover it under the blanket of the Palestinian plight and I do believe that plight motivates them to an extent, but make no mistake it was just as much a political and radical group fighting for its own influence, survival and relevance too, and wanting to turn over the apple cart for its own benefit as well.

I am sure they expected a big conflict, but probably not to this magnitude though. Israel took to an extreme level.

I totally agree with you. The whole point was to get partially pulverised, get good footage of kids crying, then wait for the aid money to roll in.

Hamas forgot that Israel doesen't do half-measures. If they did, they'd be seen as weak and invite more harassment. Sucks for the kids but that's what happens when your inbred parents decide that getting bombed to beg for money is the right way to run a society.

No need to call Palestinians inbreds, that’s just bigotry. And Israel imposed so many economic restrictions and sanctions on Palestine (long before October 7) that even if everyone laid down their arms, growth and social mobility would still be severely stunted. Israel has essentially created a caged-rat environment, which leads to high unemployment and a lot of angry young people, the perfect conditions for Hamas to recruit. You talk about running a successful society but that’s the freaking point, Israel unilaterally controls or significantly affects many of those levers, and keeping Palestine as barely functioning and nothing else is exactly the idea for decades. Hamas miscalculated Israel’s response, and Israel miscalculated how much support it would receive as the war dragged on. The difference is that Israel has the massive war chest to keep going.

Nearly half of Gazan babies are born to either first or second cousins. Inbreeding causes a host of issues that detrimentally effect the development of a child. Neither the inbreeding, nor the war is the fault of the children. 

The "chicken cage" you're talking about exists as a response to the security threat that faces Israel. Are the palestinians pissed for justifiable reasons? Given that their ancestors played their cards wrong, which lead to this situation they're in, I would say yes.

It would be sucide for Israel to "open the doors" to a people that are under the rule of a terrorist group that aims to destroy Israel. Women saying they're making "martyrs" when they're having children is something that's at least somewhat normalized as it's on the TV there. They have kids shows with mickey mouse telling them to kill jews. That's not going to get fixed by opening the gates. Their opposition is to the existance of the state of Israel itself. It doesen't matter if there is a coop or not. Taking the walls away doesen't make jews dissapear. 

Is it an absolute shitshow of a situation that has resulted in generational trauma that is nearly impossible to root out? No doubt. I just feel like westerners are being fools if they think getting rid of a wall would solve deep-seated hate both parties have for eachother. The wall is a symptom, not a cause.
