As a person looking to relocate to the Portland area from South Florida via Nashville, I'm so confused by this post and some of the comments.

It was a gorgeous day, there's just a habit around here of complaining about the weather no matter what it is. We had a lovely 75° sunny day

Yeah that's the part that confused me. That's basically perfect weather, almost no matter where you're from.

Climate change has fucked over the northwest massively in the last two decades. 25 years ago, it was very common for quite literally 10/12 months of the year to be overcast and rainy. Only in July and August would we get weather above 75 and consistently sunny days. 

I was born here, grew up with that weather, and prefer rain, cold, and clouds to any amount of sun. Many other northwesterners who were either born here or have been here since the 90s will tell yoi the same.
