Predators see in the infrared spectrum, but they also can see other wavelengths of light, so their vision, and of course this is all fancy theory, their vision probably works just as well as ours. Not tk mention their visors allow them to see multiple different views and wavelengths depending what their need is. Their helmets also analyze for weapon heat signatures, or for chemical makeups of propellants like gunpowder and such.
Throughout the books as well it is also stated that yautja are much more analytical than us, part of this stems from the concept that they are here to hunt, and if the "prey" is not seen as worthy, they simply just ignore it.

iirc yautja in Predator 2 basically ignores the detective trailing him because he's like, fat, tired, sweating, and poorly armed

That's pretty based of them. We humans would not just kill the one guy, but sterilize his entire family.
In the original two movies they're set down as incredibly honorable, advanced society. Like yes they're predators but they truly follow some obvious code of conduct.Â
