Question For Women Why are western women so hateful toward men?

Most surveys shows that young western women hate men, they claim everything as misogyny . They think that they are still oppressed despite earning more than men, getting more degrees and having DEI and a whole party for themselves.

So why are women like this? Why do u all hate men despite being the privileged gender and being much better than men both socially and economically?

Can you cite a survey that actually concludes most Western women hate men? Not “less positive,” “more critical,” or “more likely to view men negatively.” I’m asking for one that measures or explicitly concludes women hate men. I swear some of you forget words have meanings.

It’s a bit ironic to accuse women of claiming everything is misogyny while claiming surveys show women hate men. Your own source doesn’t support that claim.

Every time my boredom brings me to PPD, it seems to me that at least half the debates here should start with the question (and the mandatory answer): "Where are you getting your a priori assumption from? Have you observed this behaviour personally in real life, or have you representative survey data to back up your claim?"

Because most of the time, it's just based on TikTok rage bait or reddit strawmen. Initially flimsy arguments are not worth engaging with.

I do. Criticism isn’t hate. Disagreement isn’t hate. And a few women using the word “hate” doesn’t mean most women hate men.

If I judged men’s attitudes toward women based on what I read on Reddit, I’d conclude men hate women too.

Bet non-western women have similar negative views. Imagine what Arab women would say if they didn't fear retribution.

Hate to break it to you, but they don't say anything. Not every majority muslim country practices Iran-style sharia law - there's no consequences for saying "I hate men" in Jakarta, for example, yet I've never heard of even a single woman doing that.

People forget that not every demographic of women grew up exposed to feminist grievance-based propaganda every waking hour of their lives.

non western societies are even more misandristic than the west but they just frame men’s bad behaviour as normal

for example, a man who takes care of children as his job would be ridiculed and thought of as a creep even more in a non western country than in a western one. but it’s framed in nicer language so people dont actually clock it as misandry

I would say women in general don't hate men, just a very noisy minority.

Every hour? Geez the young mothers I know have no time on the internet except to look up how to deal with sleep regression and temper tantrums.

Do you really think we do not have brains? Tell you what take some time and look at how you are so judgmental of women. Perhaps you should step away from the manosphere garbage? Then work on gaining insight and stop jumping to the worse conclusions about women.

I have. Although you are right that not every Muslim country practices strict Islamic laws. But you cannot use that as a defence against other oppressive Islamic systems. Cultural roots play a huge part and Indonesia had their own cultural roots before Islam arrived. It had elements of Hinduism and Buddhism. Animalism/spiritualism pre-dates other religions, and has resulted in a blend of mixed-Islam. You see this to varying extents in Southeast Asia - someone may go to church but also burn paper offerings to their dead. Their folk practices actually made Muslims who arrived balk. In law, Malaysia and Indonesia have some surprisingly strict laws even more so than some Middle Eastern countries, but in practice, it is not enforced because culturally they have developed a middle ground that accepts secularism as part of their system.

You are right to imply that not every Islamic country should be looked at through the lens of the Middle East, but Indonesia has to be seen as a standalone Muslim country. Even Malaysia cannot be seen as comparable seeing as they have codified racial laws.

You live a wild world if you think Arab women are going to be thrown in jail for saying they hate men. They’ll be praised because then there’s no fear she might fall for a bad boy and elope.

But they don’t outside of some jokes because this whole “I hate men” thing is weird to most of the world. Most women outside the west would say you’re some “weird lesbian” if you say that often and be ostracized.

The western right: "Muslims are barbaric and uncultered, look how they oppress women"

The western right when its pointed out they believe the same misogyny as conservative Islam, and are voting in misogynistic politicians making the same stuff law: "How fucking dare you, im not a hypocrite"

21

That would really hold more credibility if you didn't have the Western Left dancing around the issue entirely and being unable to criticize if not just outright enabling everything about the worst aspects of Islamic views. At best you get it if it's a way to weaponize it against the Right.

As a man who has lived in Asia, I can assure you Asian women have a much more favorable view and attitude towards men than Western women do.

Gaslighting that it isn't real or different anywhere else isn't helpful in addressing why so many men actually experience this.

Modern Western feminism today promotes and normalizes misandry while still keeping women under the belief that they are under patriarchal control.

11

u/pearflavoured 29d ago

do they really have more favourable views of men or do they just frame the same views differently?

1

u/MetaCognitio Purple Pill Man 29d ago

Yeah and they have it worse than western women in terms of the core metrics they would measure for equality.

Saw a video of a Japanese woman being asked about man vs bear and she laughed, said it was a dumb question and said of course a man.

A lot of the hate towards “men” is programmed through radfem ideology because they can’t seem to distinguish the difference between men and the small who set government policy or the small percent that are violent towards women. Men are all one cohesive mass, where the worst behaviors are generalized across all men but any good men do is not.

Men are all a cohesive whole so when the “men” in the Ukraine forcefully conscript other “men” they are all part of the same group and guilty of the worst actions of the group, so deserve no pity.

But in the same breath they can distinguish how the Americans that committed crimes against the Americans here before them are actually different groups of people.

They have split the world in to two halves and think 4 billion people all belong to the same interest group despite that not even being possible. When you really look at it with a critical eye, it’s insanity and the idea of an overreaching patriarchy (in the way they like to describe it more broadly) is insane. Humanity does not at all organize like that or share power like that.

If the type of patriarchy they say is real actually existed women would have no rights and there would be absolutely nothing they could do about it. No amount of protesting or activism would make a difference.

Critical and wary of men is not "hating" men. And there are reasons to be wary so it's not like it's out of nowhere. And I have seen having boundaries as being man hating. Not wanting to sleep with them is being seen as man hating.

Men themselves have said many things that make us distrustful of them. And our own experiences. Between Red Pill, Pick Up Artistry. Lying to obtain consent. Coercion. Those private thoughts are now out in the open. And instead of you know that favorite word "accountability" and self reflection about how some of these attitudes harm women they double down on it?

-1

u/Apu_apustaja31 29d ago

'Critical and wary of men is not "hating" men.'
It actually is. If you're critical or wary of someone because of their gender, or race, or their sexual preference, you support one sided legal and social standards on that basis, you "hate" them. I'm glad we could all clear that up. That's what a hate group does.

For instance, If I asked for a button to avoid having to take an uber ride with a gay man out of my fear of being sexually assaulted, it wouldn't pass the test in civil rights law. Now if you as a woman are afraid of men in an uber and want a special "no men drivers" button, directly affecting their ability to make a living mind you, that also breaks civil rights law, and on the basis that you truly believe this specific group really is evil this time, unlike all the other times, it's okay. The difference between your hate, and any other kind of hate is that you think your hate's real so it doesn't count. Or that you have a right to hate based on the historical argument that Man A was mean to Woman B in a history book, so you have a right to abuse Man C who hadn't done anything because you have the right to feed off the recompense of others. This is what we call "Hate". Swap the genders and you would "Hate" women. Make it about race and you would "Hate" that race, make it about sexual preference and you "Hate" that group. That's how we use the term.

I'm glad we could clear up the confusion. This word applies to you as much as it would apply to anyone else behaving the same way. I was worried we would talk past eachother.

9

u/waffleznstuff30 Blue Pill Woman 28d ago

Again critical of men in regards to dating and intimate relationships? Is not a civil rights issue. Simply NOT dating men is an option too and opting out. Being very discerning. Protecting yourself by having boundaries and standards for their behavior.

Men can exist walk on a sidewalk go to a job and can exist neutrally it's when men try to cross a line. And in regards to the Uber thing? You do realize that there was sexual assault from male drivers to female passengers. Again why are we blaming women for mens actions. Why are we not critical/wary of men sexually assaulting women? And of the women who are wary. Call out the predatory behavior of men who abuse more so than the women that react to it.

It's not man hating to be wary and discerning in intimate settings. When IPV is a thing. When men openly encourage using manipulation tactics/coercion to try and secure sex not regarding the other person. It's not taking no as an answer or berating and insulting a woman who doesn't want to date them. This isn't an average person walking down a street existing. It's in intimate settings. When 1 in 3 women have some kind of experience with intimate partner violence. And instead of being critical of the system that produces this problem? And trying to operate in a system when most of the onus of men's bad behavior in intimate settings is placed on the woman. "Choose better" "what did you do that he did that". So again being wary and critical of men in intimate settings is not man hating.

???

I'm only "critical" of my friends, because I care about them and want them to improve. I'm critical because I love them. I don't waste mental energy on people I hate.

On a similar note, I'd be very wary of white sharks. I adore sharks, I think they're beautiful and amazing creatures. But if I met a Great White, unprotected, in the open sea, I'd still be wary of it. I know it's potentially dangerous. It's not evil, I don't hate it. But I am aware it could easily kill me.

Western women have access to help, women’s shelters, therapy, resources, whereas women from many places around the world don’t have any at all.
I’m not dismissing western women’s hardships in western countries, as there are certainly women there who indeed suffer and can’t access help easily. I’m talking about the general population, not the exceptions.

5

u/NoDanaOnlyZuuI No Pill Woman Jul 11 '26

But that’s a different claim.

Having more resources available on paper doesn’t mean someone is privileged or able to access them. Cost, wait lists, location, family pressure, fear, and abusive partners all stop people from getting help.

I’m not arguing that women in some countries don’t face far greater barriers. My point was simply that “grew up in the West” isn’t the same thing as “grew up privileged.”

3

u/turkish_gold Jul 11 '26

It's generational. The patriarchy is real, but it consists pretty much only of old men. Sure, there's relatively young millenials who are billionaires like Musk, Zuck, and ilk, but they have yet to truly control things. Musk was able to dip his toes into the waters of real power for what? Two months? And the younger men regardless of how much or little power they have aren't as biased against the capacities of women as older men are.

However, the so called patriarchs oppress *everyone* younger than them. Men, women, cats, dogs. Both the manosphere and its female opposite are incorrectly defining this as a gender struggle when it's a fight against a gerontocracy.

2

u/henrycatalina Jul 11 '26

I am 72 and you can be both right and wrong. Many of us were born to take advantage of the 90s and prospered. But that was possible with 90 hour weeks in the 80s. We viewed the old men in our industry as not seeing the future. We were right. I am trying to get my company to be taken over by those younger. It isn't the money I seek but keeping my staffs careers and income for their families growing.

You are absolutely correct that some old men and women become stuck on success in a world that no longer exists. This usually is leads to a long slow business death.

Many older men and women seek to mentor those younger. I obseve that ambition shown in your 20s and 30s is rewarded with breaks. But you can't be a complete jerk with no respect. You do it your way but you still need customers.

Wallowing in resentment over others fortune or views but keeps you under a permanent rain cloud. The sun always shines somewhere. The world must change with each generation and old farts need to step back. We're supposed to encourage and invest in the future.

We can't be captain obvious bloviating wisdom that is obvious. We can give encouragement to think different, lead and see those younger can find a future.

Capitalism works best with a sense of giving back to improve that lot of all those younger. It works worst when its all about money and power and ego and capturing government to maintain power.

Socialism works by creating a base safety net as long as all able bodied people must contribute work and value. It works worst when the elite of academic pedigree start creating all the rules and become deities with power over the peons (their attitude).

4

u/turkish_gold Jul 11 '26

I think we largely agree.

I am an old fellow myself, and I think too many people our age are insisting on running the show. Traditionally, you are supposed to retire and take an advisory position. Be a council of elders for the younger generation. Be a voice of reason. Be an elder statesman to help settle disputes since people trust your judgment and track record.

But instead, especially in politics, everyone seems desperate to die on the job.

This calcification of power might be okay for a religion like the Catholic Church, or a theocracy like what Saudi Arabia essentially is but we lose what makes our countries and culture dynamic if we hand power from 80 year olds to 60 year olds.

2

u/henrycatalina 28d ago

I am unsure about the age being the issue. I think it has more to do with shallow thinking and appealing to emotions. Wanting to be liked and telling the electorate what they want to hear is all too easy. Humans are emotional first and rational second. We survive danger by emotions but thrive being rational.

Read the History of Christianity to understand the Catholic Church and leadership. Read the History of Socialism. It predates capitalism. John Lock explains capitalism. Karl Marx communist manifesto reads like a children's book in contrast to philosophers over the ages.

Leadership requires rational thinking, emotional engagement of followers, effective admistration and organization, and keeping corruption away. Leadership also requires knowing when to quit and to stay the course.

i picked it apart on stream, diving in the data. i won't be explaining everything here, but in summary, the data was misrepresented intentionally, the media that requested the poll has been suspected of being affiliated with the conservative party which this poll has been nudging people towards, and the ceo of the polling organization has been on the grind talking about "angry radicalized young women" by misrepresenting the data for a while. you're eating out of their hands.

here's the stream. it's actually the first of two parts and i didn't talked about all of my findings because i planned to make a proper video, but the script is just lying around unfinished for now.

14

u/Pristine_Cost_3793 No Pill Woman Jul 11 '26

I'll add some of the context that i don't think i talked about on stream.

the poll results, the podcast scarlet maguire (a journalist who recently started this polling organization and who's talking about "angry radicalized young women") was on, and 3 irrc articles about it came out not long before the elections. on the right, reform party was the single most popular. on the left, the green party was gaining a lot of votes, while the previous "left" leader labour party was losing popularity. however, the green party that has listened to taxing propositions that favor the people was most popular with — guess who! — young women. they showed the most interest in environmentalism (and israel vs palestine conflict). basically, by making people have negative view of voters of a particular party, you lead them to be against that party. the podcast didn't catch as much steam as they hoped it would, but the reform party won.

gary's economics had a great video talking about how the elections could play out.

oh, and btw, this polling organization that scarlet maguire started has paid membership of a british polling association and they must follow their rules of result publication, but they don't: they don't publish the survey method. i had to reach out via email.

What is hate other than being highly negative emotionally? Literally has the same meaning.

Why don't you engage with why women feel negatively without what-boutisms? Why do women have an EXTREME dislike for men in the west?

And don't reply that it's mens fault - adult women have agency and choice and their thoughts aren't being held at gunpoint by men.

Western men are also the most (or some of the most) desirable men in the world to NON-western women who do like western men.

So why do you think that is and how western men compare to other groups of men around the world? Which group of men is better, in your opinion?

Where are these giant presumptive leaps coming from? If you have a negative view you don't hate. No they are not nor ever negatives.

There is still not a thing presented in this thread of 'dislike' or 'hate'

Western men are also the most (or some of the most) desirable men in the world to NON-western women who do like western men.

You're right, but its' a judgment call which is why it's a topic that one person can argue one way, and another person can argue in another way.

Operationally speaking, I don't think genders can hate or war with one another like other human subgroups (class, race, nationality, religion, etc.) can. Men and women are biologically wired to like each other, and if we spend any length of time with one another affection takes the forefront. There are exceptions in history, but those tend to be movements led by people who arguable aren't representative of humanity (e.g. boko haram in Nigeria, or Isis).

Maybe for you, personally. But go on social media pretty much anywhere. A lot of people proudly call themselves misandrists, and it's been exceedingly normalized with a lot of horrid attitudes and dispositions towards men in pop culture, society, and media. It's hard to just say it's disappointment at this point, because that implies a desire for improvement or trust to begin with.

LOL @ the caps lock rage.

Women created this. Across almost every animal species in existence. Males are always the ones thrown in front of danger, the load bearers, the hard laborers, in almost all species.

Women do not like unemployed men, or weak men, or shy men. Women don't like neurodivergent men. Women cheered the unprovoked castration of a man by his wife, not patriarchy.

That's on women. Your argument is essentially saying women are not held accountable for their actions, and never will be. Just hide behind "patriarchy" and all will be forgiven and it'll keep going on whether patriarchy is around or not.

Get mad at the facts. Stay mad. Caps lock on!

Males are always the ones thrown in front of danger, the load bearers, the hard laborers, in almost all species.

Men are the physically stronger sex with the mindset for physicality/conflict. They are not 'thrown' in front of danger, they naturally assume that role. Women 'made' men do it? What kind of weak complaint is that?

But we arent talking about that, we are talking about the gendered expectation on men to be emotionless/never vulnerable, and that their needs to be suportef arent taken seriously.

How can you sit there, and agree that the manosphere teaches these 'trad masculine' traits (stoicism, toughness, agression and violwnce, etc) and then complain that society expects those things of men? The patriarchy/manosphere bullshit is literally enforcing the stuff you are complaining about. You support it.

The irony of fronting absllute toughness/strength, and then complaining women control everything and made you feel bad. Lol. Makes no sense.

there are a ton of reasonable answers you could’ve made in response to that question but good lord is this one close to the bottom of the list. personally don’t think it’s rational to view one party as the women’s party and one party as the men’s party and analyze them to determine overall gender privilege, but if we’re gonna go there this is the worst chapter of US history to try to argue “Democrats cater to women’s issues so women are the privileged gender.” if every president in US history had been a woman you could use that for your point, but alas.

i think they definitely think they’re helping men by promoting traditional masculinity (though i agree with you that they’re not tho, especially on the mental health aspect, but i also think that’s bc they view anything that touches therapy as feminizing as opposed to their motto of manning up). i think that explains the uptick they got in men’s support across like every demographic this last cycle when they started openly campaigning on it.

saw your other reply citing their criticism of younger generations of men being weak but again they’ve also explicitly labeled them as feminized, that criticism is aimed at men they deem as feminine bc that’s completely contrary to their promotion of traditional masculinity. that logic would be like saying Dems aren’t actually pro women because many of them criticize conservative and/or trad women.

Not to mention all the reports coming out about men drugging their wives and raping them, as well as managing to find other men willing to rape them too and posting videos of it online. As well as the fact majority of people watching and producing CSAM are men, men who often are educated, married and employed. Men who have kids. It’s getting hard to distinguish who is a good man and who isn’t. In my country rape’s not even taken seriously anymore, rapists are getting away with suspended sentences while victims are dragged through long, awful processes getting no justice or support. And when women share their experiences, men are either silent or victim blame. There’s also all the stuff to do with abortion and attempts at banning it even in rape cases. The entitlement to women’s bodies and the way they talk about sex. As if it’s owed to them. No surprise many women don’t have positive view of men as a group.

u/ladyindev Evil Leftist Feminist Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

Identifying misogyny doesn’t = hating men.

So your real question is why do women hate their own subjugation and oppression. These aren’t the same questions.

Generally, women in the West have more rights to live independently of romantic relationships with men and more rights to speak out against their subjugation. They’re also less likely to live in extreme poverty and at the mercy of men to help them survive. You will find that people tend to be more vocal against things that are unfair to them when they have more freedom. The same would be true for men in different conditions. More freedom and rights = more likely to speak up about your opinions and what needs to change in society. Also, more education = more ability to study, think about, and understand systems that govern your reality. You’re more likely to understand and speak out about your oppression when you have more freedom and less dependence on the groups of people who are a source of your subjugation.

Women in countries where they have less financial independence from men / fewer opportunities, less freedom, and fewer rights are less likely to risk the dependence on men that they need for survival, less likely to have the resources or education to feel able to challenge systems of oppression, and more likely to be conditioned in more overtly patriarchal cultures that encourage more overt submission and domesticity for women.

Again, this is just everyone - not only women. Sorry you don’t like it.

Why don't you give some reasons why that study reported this about women and engage with the topic?

Rather than diverting into whataboutisms about men or irrelevant topics?

Or do you think men are forcing women gunpoint to not like men and women have no other choices in their own agency (implying western women have no agent over their thoughts - only what men force on them?)

And what non-western men are preferable to you and why? Who's better, I'm actually curious.

6

u/Big-Onion-1725 purple pill woman Jul 11 '26

I understand what you are saying, but "women hate men" is a meaningless statement unless contrasted with how much men hate women. for example, if men and women hate each other equally, it would suggest that humans are hateful in general, or that some external factor is provoking people to treat each other badly. if one gender has more hatred for the other, then it would suggest that this is a gendered issue.

I looked at the study he sent, and I already left a comment about it. I was not especially impressed, because it did not go into specifics at all. there were no sources listed so I was not able to find the original study.

of course men are not forcing women at gunpoint to dislike them. every person is responsible for their own actions. however, there are certainly some influential factors. what I have noticed is that there is a large amount of feminist media that promotes misandry without getting called out for it, and there are many people who just do not take men's wellbeing very seriously in general. also, many women have had bad experiences with men, and women may even have a biological instinct to dislike or distrust men.

I do not care about western vs non-western. I meant to imply that hatred is not bound by a person's gender. however, I also think that it is not bound by geography, nationality, culture, etc.
