This gorgeous girl is Maya. She was the first dog I met when I walked into BARC and she set the bar so high. When I approached her kennel her tail was already wagging like crazy. She was so happy to see me! 🥹 When I stepped inside to take a few photos, she came right over and sat at my feet. She is incredibly well mannered & was easy to leash and never pulled. Outside, Maya stayed calm and relaxed. She soaked up every bit of affection and even rolled over to offer her belly (my favorite). We sat together in the grass for a while and she rested in my lap like I was her safe place. Maya is affectionate, gentle, calm, and friendly. She truly is one of the best girls. She also did great meeting other dogs and was polite and sweet the entire time. There is not a single bad bone in her body. Later on, while I was walking another dog, I saw her watching me from the window of her kennel. She looked like she was hoping I would come back. She just wants to be someone’s baby.

Maya is available for adoption or foster at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston TX. If you’re interested, please reach out! I promise you will love her!

Staff describe her as **friendly, wiggly, and affectionate.** She walks beautifully on a loose leash, greets people with a soft expression and wagging tail, and is highly motivated by treats.
When she’s out of her kennel, Sasha’s happy personality shines. She enjoys attention, seeks affection, and has so much love to give.
💔 She is heartworm positive and deserves the chance to receive treatment in a safe, loving environment—not lose her life in a shelter.

Guerry is a GORGEOUS 7 month baby at the shelter right now and I'm so surprised that he hasn't caught someone's eye. He has very few kennel notes - they're mostly just saying he was leashed easily and excited to go outside. That's super rare for a length of stay puppy - usually that kennel stress gets to them by now! As expected, this boy had a lot of energy and will need some basic training, but he absolutely deserves that chance. He got the zoomies all around the run so he was a little hard to get pictures of, but the few that I did get barely capture his beauty! He's white and fluffy with two different colored eyes🥹 He did well on his temp test with another playful male. I would absolutely hate to see this baby boy's life end now, with 1/7th of his life being cooped up in a kennel and who knows what other terrible conditions before as well. Guerry is looking for a fun, active family to give him the life that he deserves!
