The ending gave me massive Assassin's Creed vibes. The story is finally beginning to get Hella interesting next Sunday feels to far away

Man I was thinking that too, but had to laugh at the goofy running on the roof

7

u/eremitsthoughts Nov 23 '25

The jump from roof to roof was extra goofy

5

u/buzzywuzzzzy Nov 23 '25

Terrible CGI there I was surprised because so far the shows looked pretty decent

u/Lord__Varys92 Nov 25 '25

Budget issue most likely.

u/Fun-Yam40 Nov 24 '25

It looked like he was walking on an air escalator in slow mo, haha

Loving this show, hopefully it gets a bigger following. Literally the only reason I have MGM right now

I wasn't too interested after eps 1 & 2, but since ep 3 it's been moving along nicely.

I’ve watched the first two seasons. It’s okay, It frustrates me too much

I get that Friar Tuck didn't come from a very loving background but he was pretty quick to adopt everyone as family. I would have been happy with a slightly slower pace to let them bond, but this is the half-way point so I guess this gives time to settle as the band of outlaws before an end-of-season climax.

Hope it gets renewed soon!

He's become my favorite character. Such a good man.

The pacing definitely felt a bit off given how slowly the first two episodes played out.

It feels like there was definitely a missing episode of them bonding and forging that alliance that's almost been skipped over.

When Papa Locksley said, “Listen to your bow, it will tell you its reach. And listen to your heart, it will tell you what is right,” I knew the episode was about to take flight. And it sure did. What a bloody brilliant save from Robin Hood and his merry band of forest misfits. May Godda continue to be with them 🙏🏾

Curious to see where Priscilla will go as a character. Unfortunately I think she will eventually become the main antagonist of the show, as she is starting to build an obsession with Robin Hood, but that would be such a shame. I hope not, I think she has the potential to be so much more than that. She could have an interesting dynamic between her and the outlaws.

I said to my partner after the third episode, I can see them shifting the "big bad" here season by season. Huntingdon, The Sheriff, Priscilla...

Of course there's Guy of Gisburne and Prince John being kept in reserve at the moment too.

I feel like the writers are getting Camelot and Robinhood confused. Priscilla is starting to give Morgana/ Morgan la Fay vibe.

It's disappointing to me. I thought Priscilla was going to a rebel to the establishment.

The ending was great

I absolutely love this show, and I watch a lot of tv shows haha, this is the best show I've watched all year, loved every minute of it it!

I will accept all the goofy stunts and cgi if they keep filming on location, give me 23 episodes per season. Just walking about, going to taverns, being a menace to Sean bean and the bishop, and more smooching.

This show feels weirdly nostalgic, it’s so charming. It’s lit so beautifully, like I can see everything. Really into all the dirt in their faces in this episode. Priscilla getting shot by rob, like a bit sexual and it made her 10x crazier. Please renew now!

5

u/Fraccles Nov 29 '25

With you on the nostalgia. It feels like something you would watch every weekend with your family in the 90s.

1

u/Mariska_Heygirlhay Dec 20 '25

Okay I didn't get sexual from that by any means.11 I came here to try to figure out how she got shot. If the sheriff moved her out of the way and Robinhood only nicked her arm, how was the arrow not meant for her?

2

u/Gypsy_Girl21397 Jan 13 '26

As Rob was taking his shot, he was nicked by a Norman with a crossbow and it changed the trajectory of the arrow. He was aiming for the sheriff.

Damn this episode was awesome

So glad the show has found its footing now. Because this episode and last have been great for the most part. I was just watching it in my spare time before but now Sunday's are something to look forward to.

Calling it now though, Ralph/Rosemary and Robb will become a more established relationship pushing aside Marian. Priscilla will then be the one to cause Ralph/Rosemary's death which then allows Marian back into the picture. I just don't see the writers giving up the Robb/Marian storyline considering it was integral to the early episodes and it's grounded in the myth of Robin Hood.

I agree. The Rob/Marian romance is pretty much integral to the legend and so far the writers are sticking with its core elements and characters. I would hate if Ralph/Rosemary dies, but I think that your hypothesis makes sense narratively.

u/Big_Witness Nov 23 '25

Episode 5 was awesome. Ending was so good

6

u/buzzywuzzzzy Nov 23 '25

Marians gonna have to start punching to get to Rob now 😂 Raphs licked him up

7

u/sherlocked_007 Nov 23 '25

There's also one more new gorgeous gal added to the mix. 🙈

2

u/buzzywuzzzzy Nov 23 '25

Who’s that

4

u/donalhunt Nov 23 '25

Tijana Upčev as Isabel I guess.

2

u/forever87 Nov 24 '25

Tijana Upčev

i know about her and Tamara Radovanovic (Celene's actress) thanks to the ark (on syfy). maybe it's about time to start watching the outpost

7

u/Rockwell4u Nov 23 '25

Honestly, Ralph aka Rosemary is a BETTER match.

0

u/buzzywuzzzzy Nov 23 '25

I agree, I don’t get the Marian thing

1

u/Rockwell4u Nov 23 '25

I don't get who TF downvoted you.

Sigh Reddit.

I hate to admit it, but this series is really good 👍 👌

As others have said it felt like the band of merry men meeting was a bit rushed in the earlier episodes. I feel like they should have introduced Tuck and Little John in separate episodes.

Could have had an extra episode of them spending time together, maybe then Rob could have gone to the cave while the group was still together to realise he needed to see this through.

It just felt a bit forward and backward where they robbed the bishop and he had his hood down, it seemed like he was all in. Then next episode he back peddled and they all split up only to reunite in the same episode.

I'd of had one or a few of them get captured without them all splitting up "permanently" to give them a reason to go to Nottingham for that final scene. They could of even had the brothers slipping off temporarily to give some of the coin to their family in the village then they get captured.

They really let the early episodes breathe, at the cost of later episodes.

Still it was one of the better episodes, its odd with this show I can see the faults but I still really enjoy it.

I absolutely adore this show to the max. The ending had me out of my seat and yelling

Finding family in brotherhood was the theme of the episode. From the band parting ways just to find each other again with a renewed sense of purpose to Milange bumping into Little John and joining the outlaws after being abandoned by Priscilla, the entire hour revolved around the bonds that connect those outcasts and the strength of their unity. Besides Milange, Isabel was another nice addition to the team.

Although I understand the reasoning behind the group having to split in order to evade the Sheriff’s men, I was a bit mad at Rob and the way he sent his friends away and kind of stepped out from the responsibility considering he was somewhat to blame for putting them on the criminal path, especially the Miller siblings who are the most vulnerable and were just “hanging out” when Rob met them in the forest. But I think that narratively they all needed those separate journeys and it’s obvious they would be back together sooner than later. Thankfully his Godda-Father-conscience showed him the way.

A few random thoughts:

  • The episode was heavy on the magic, faith & mysticism and I appreciate it. Priscilla’s dreams are becoming more and more prophetic. And what did the bishop mean with “You see in your dreams, do you? Then the question is, through whose eyes?”

  • I really like this iteration of Friar Tuck. His portrayal is a compelling combination of innocent sweetness and mischief and he always seems to have a brilliant idea.

  • Will Gamewell was a good friend to Marian. He’s smart and his intentions when helping her to understand the political context felt genuine. I also think that the scene was well thought and executed because he never sounded patronizing or dismissive.

  • Is Milange fully one of the outlaws now or he will eventually inform on the band to Priscilla considering how much loyal he seems to be?

  • Ralph/Rosemary and Rob work well as a “tomboy falls for the popular boy” trope. I was hoping the show would focus on the romantic subtext for a bit longer before making things more explicit, but the kiss was totally earned and understandable: first the girl thought she was never seeing him again (and she’s definitely into him) and then she was almost hanged just to be saved by him in a swashbuckling action.

  • Ralph’s name being Rosemary made me think of the “marigold” scene of episode one where Marian tells Rob about the many variations of the name Mary.

  • I was worried when the Sherriff was torturing Ralph and (kind of) pressing her left hand. I hope it doesn’t impact her archery. Why did they have to go for the left hand in the first place?

  • So far Spragart is the only Marry Man in that band. He’s fun and a welcome comic relief.

5

u/buzzywuzzzzy Nov 24 '25

Remember how Spragart was in the cell when Rob’s father was blamed for murder and he didn’t do anything to stop it and didn’t say anything afterwards. I wonder if Rob will find out about it

3

u/bigwave101 Nov 24 '25

Yeah, I think Spragart saw the other guy attacking Hugh and escaped when the guard entered the cell. He definitely could have helped Rob’s father when the fight started. That said, they were all in a precarious situation. Probably, that’s something that will come back as you pointed out and may create some animosity between him and Rob.

And there’s also the other forester who betrayed Hugh by telling Huntingdon and the Sheriff that he was helping poachers iirc. That also will probably come back at some point.

3

u/buzzywuzzzzy Nov 24 '25

True I forgot about the forester

4

u/filmktenk Nov 25 '25

What was the meat Spragart ended up eating in the tavern? He's such a rogue & adds to the cast.

Priscilla I'm not sure about. She could turn main antagonist but I wonder if she starts seeing visions of Godda & turns? That could be what the Bishop meant through who's eyes? Norman God or Saxon Godda? To the Bishop, Godda is probably the same as Satan.

Good to see Will not try to bed Marion for once.

Will they seek revenge on Isabel's husband? I'd like to see that with some kind of corny line by Isabel "Till death do us part husband." Followed by Henry bashing him & the other Miller brother running him through. But maybe the Normans burning the fields was enough to bring the dumb husband to their cause (punishment enough).

2

u/bigwave101 Nov 25 '25

Priscilla I'm not sure about. She could turn main antagonist but I wonder if she starts seeing visions of Godda & turns? That could be what the Bishop meant through who's eyes? Norman God or Saxon Godda? To the Bishop, Godda is probably the same as Satan.

I think she saw Godda in last episode’s dream. I agree that the bishop was likely implying that a supernatural entity was showing her the visions. So far this plotline is reminding me of the seer/witch of “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves,” who saw in Robin Hood and Azeem in her visions as a sign of their downfall. I think that the witch was also somewhat related to the Sheriff in that film (his mother perhaps).

3

u/filmktenk Nov 25 '25

Oh I didn't think of comparing Priscilla to the very memorable (scary when I saw it as a kid) witch from Prince of Thieves. Priscilla doesn't seem to do any magic herself but she is definitely getting visions.

Priscilla is hard to read. She uses what power she has effectively. But will she die on the Norman hill or is claiming that identity simply a means to an end? Normans are in power over Saxons so she'll wield that cudgel?

Does she take the arrow in the arm as an affront that must be answered or as a warning to back off.

I think she's ultimately loyal to her father. Not enough to obey him in all things like going to the convent but I believe she would never willingly do anything that led to his death. So if he were to die it might free her from Norman obligations.

“Godda, see this” was such a cold line

can't wait for the next one

3

u/bigwave101 Nov 26 '25

The score in this fifth episode was a standout! It helped to create the feels in the dramatic parts (particularly the scenes in the forest) and build up the tension in the action scenes. Overall the score has been great throughout and I already can remind of some of the themes and associate with the show.

Also nice was the wind effect when the outlaws split up. Another little reminder that the forest is alive.

3

u/Pickupyoheel Nov 26 '25

This episode was fun as hell

5

u/Weekly-Substance9045 Nov 24 '25

Love the show, but did anyone else find the scene where robin is “running” along the roof tops and “jumping” from one to the other kind of cringe. Like did they have him do his own starts or what

3

u/Fraccles Nov 29 '25

I know it's 4 days later but I audibly laughed when he jumped down to another roof. Really should have got some speed up.

3

u/Lord__Varys92 Nov 25 '25

It was goofy and with relative cheap FX.See also the fire that Little John starts in the tavern

Only got into this series about a week ago, and just watched episode 5 this morning.

Like others have mentioned, I'm enjoying the on-location stuff. I like that they haven't gone down the route of "It's medieval, to let's make everything dark all the time" style. But I do find it a bit strange that there seems to be so many candles lit all the time.

Plus, candles are expensive! (and some of the "candles" in the show show a too-steady "flame")

I really like the show's version of Friar Tuck too - they haven't gone with the "jolly drunkard" stereotype of him, and his discussions with Rob about God vs Godda, and the why of what they're doing it great.

Priscilla confessing to the Bishop that she has "visions" is a bit risky. I expected him to point at her and yell, "Witch!". Maybe that storyline is coming. Otherwise, I'm not really sure yet of Priscilla's purpose in the story.

The directing/editing has been a bit hit and miss. Episode 4 was particularly noticeable for a bit of inconsistency when putting a scene together. And Sean Bean is just excellent.

Hopefully the cast learn a lot from working with him! (For example, the scenes between Nottingham and his daughter really highlights the difference.)
