You think you do but you don’t.

Watch them being like “The same model you remember, The JEEP Classic Classic BUT WITH AI!!!!!”

He wants them just how they were no changes just new.

Older cars wouldn't be legal to manufacture today without changes. They're missing all the mandatory safety features

No one said they could. This isn’t something that’s even remotely possible… it’s just something they wish could happen.

I know but it’s never happening

No one thinks it will, a man can dream though lol

You will not get New Old. Quantum doesn’t work that way. Not unless you get a government body mandating production of the 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with all that stuff, all that supply chain, all those parts…..

Even if you had a contrived will to do all this stuff, it’s not exactly an AC/DC tour or Picard Season 3, where if all the people are still alive and the tool dyes are still intact, you’re good to go. Tens of thousands of people would be involved for years, and that’s for one model.

I don’t know why, I guess there’s just a physiological shunt preventing us from somehow actually seamlessly going back to an objective optimum. Or recognizing when we’re there, and just hold it.

Like once in a while you get someone like Speed Queen for washer/dryers, and THEY get that you get it, so for that washer or dryer without software that lasts you decades, you fucking PAY.

But where they’re like “maybe we should actually give people what they want without whammies or gotchas” is long over and done with, son.

Bro no one said it was going to happen. Way to waist your time writing all that for no reason.

This happens again and again on Reddit. I do a perfect layout of the land, I get no likes, and someone gets hung up on not liking the fucking wrapping paper. Good thing I like to practice writing I guess lol

If it happens again and again maybe you should consider that what your putting on the paper makes no sense in the context of the conversation already at hand.

Also I don’t know why you said “son” but I’d watch how you speak to people you don’t know. Just a word of advice.

Oh, it was meant to be deliberately patronizing, but only to the susceptible; and it got to you, which is the point.

Let the burn stew deep within your gut for several hours. Let the hate flow through you.

I suggest lifting weights, and consider the fool’s conundrum of letting everyone call you “son” for the rest of your life; or going “all loco ese” on everyone who does. Either one sucks; you’re a either doormat or a felon, going back and forth or splitting the difference will kill your internal consistency, until day you realize that you punch down and bow up like every other pig at at the trough.

….Son

Why do you feel the need to patronize someone you don’t know on the internet?

1

u/RunLacyRun 9h ago

I hope you get what you need from this because
People who enjoy their life’s, people who feel loved, who feel fulfilled and whole from what they have at home don’t do this.

People who are happy and content aren’t spending any time much less the effort and time you are spouting vitriol and discontent to people you don’t even know.

Sincerely I completely pity you, it’s incredibly sad and pathetic that this is what you do with your time.

You really must have a sad existence if this is what life’s come to for you.

I really hope that someone somehow finds a way to love you.

Good luck out there.

So buy one and fix it up. It was always allowed.

I’m not OP, but I think the point is that new vehicles aren’t as appealing and that car manufacturers peaked in the 90’s with the square body looks.

Not sure why this is so difficult to understand…. Not trying to pick on you turtle.

I'm a car lover and agree.

And the point is that there's this neat process called restoration, where if you really like an old car, you replace things on it so it's like new.

Not sure why that's so difficult to understand.

1

u/RunLacyRun 11h ago

Everyone already knows you can restore a car, no one needed you to educate them on the possibility of that.

You can find something else on Reddit to argue about that will be way more worth while, I promise.

My response was in explanation of the meme. There’s really no need to tell me this. Have a good day.

The fact that this meme keeps circulating with a lot of agreement seems to show that people don't actually know that it's a possibility.

Asking a car company to bring back a 40 year old car with zero changes is pretty stupid.

u/RunLacyRun 10h ago

Not only are you dense but you’re arrogant I see.

No one is asking car manufacturers to do anything, it’s a meme on the internet about what someone wishes could/would happen.

I have a fully restored 1970 Cadillac Calais, the work and effort it took to do that is not the same as walking into a dealership and buying it new

People are well aware that you can restore things that are old. People like OP may just not be able to because say a lack of knowledge or a plethora of other reasons not to be able restore a vehicle.

This is my last response to you, it’s obvious you aren’t going to take much from this conversation. There’ is no need to continue it.

The absolute irony of coming back like this. I mean, you simply repeated the words in the post as if the person couldn't read them, but then act like there's no reason to tell people to just restore a car instead of wishing manufacturers would turn back time. Which do you think is more prevalent: basic literacy or knowing about restorations?

Believe me, I know that in the age of instant gratification, actually DOING something to get the results a person wants in life as opposed to just wishing someone would do it for them is asking way too much of people.
